Song There’s a Land That is Fairer Than Day Committal Pastor Andre S. Sinclair Song Oh, That Will Be Glory Song The Golden Morning is Fast Approaching

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:19-21

Songs of Hope SING THE WONDROUS LOVE OF JESUS Sing the wondrous love of Jesus, Sing his mercy and his grace. In the mansions bright and blessed He’ll prepare for us a place Refrain When we all get to heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, We’ll sing and shout the Victory! While we walk the pilgrim’s pathway, Clouds will overspread the sky; But when travelling days are over, Not a shadow not a sigh.

Refrain Let us then be true and faithful, Trusting serving every day; Just one glimpse of him in glory Will the toils of life repay. Refrain Onward to the prize before us! Soon his beauty we’ll behold; Soon the pearly gates will open; We shall tread the streets of gold. Refrain

THERE’S A LAND THAT IS FAIRER THAN DAY There’s a land that is fairer than day, And by faith we can see it afar, For the father waits over the way, To prepare us a dwelling place there.

To our bountiful father above, We shall offer a tribute of praise, And the glorious gift of his love, And the blessings that hallow our days. Refrain

Refrain In that sweet bye and bye, We shall meet on that beautiful shore; In that sweet bye and bye We shall meet on that beautiful shore.

We shall meet, we shall sing, we shall reign, In the land where the saved never die; We shall rest free from sorrow and pain, Safe at home in the sweet bye and bye. Refrain

We shall sing on that beautiful shore, The melodious songs of the blest, And our spirits shall sorrow no more, Not a sigh for the blessing of rest. Refrain

Songs of Hope OH, THAT WILL BE GLORY When all my labors and trials are o’er, And I am safe on that beautiful shore, Just to be near the dear Lord I adore, Will through the ages be glory for me.

When, by the gift of His infinite grace, I am accorded in heaven a place, Just to be there and to look on His face, Will through the ages be glory for me. Refrain

Refrain Oh, that will be glory for me, Glory for me, glory for me, When by His grace I shall look on His face, That will be glory, be glory for me.

Friends will be there I have loved long ago; Joy like a river around me will flow; Yet just a smile from my Savior, I know, Will through the ages be glory for me. Refrain

THE GOLDEN MORNING IS FAST APPROACHING The golden morning is fast approaching; Jesus soon will come To take His faithful and happy children To their promised home.

Attended by all the shining angels, Down the flaming sky The Judge will come, and will take His people Where they will not die. Refrain

Refrain Oh, we see the gleams of the golden morning Piercing through this night of gloom! Oh, we see the gleams of the golden morning That will burst the tomb.

There those loved ones who have long been parted Will all meet that day; The tears of those who are brokenhearted Will be wiped away. Refrain

The Gospel summons will soon be carried To the nations round; The Bridegroom then will cease to tarry And the trumpet sound. Refrain

EULOGY “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away”. William Shakespeare

E

arle’s life commenced on February 22, 1953, when he entered the world as the second child of Daisy and Stephen Brown, in Claremont, St Ann. As a child, Earle was smart, precocious, and inquisitive, with a mischievous streak that he tempered with frolic. Earl’s early childhood had a number of firsts in academic excellence. He was the first at the Claremont Seventh Day Adventist Church School, to achieve the Common Entrance Scholarship for High School. He was the first student to represent the Church School in the National Spelling Bee Championship. Growing up in Claremont, Earle was focused, was active in his church, and earned the admiration of his peers. He was an avid reader and also excelled in high school. After graduating from High School, he matriculated to the University of the West Indies and University of Technology (formerly College of Arts, Science and Technology).

Earle was multi-talented. His experience spanned several industries, including the Forestry Department, Agriculture, Education, Accounting, Computer Technology and Construction. It was while

working with the Forestry Department in Portland, that he met and married the former Jasmine Williams (who preceded him in death) and settled in Portland. The union produced a daughter Cheryl and son Adrian. For many years Earle was an entrepreneur and worked closely with the local community and the Tourist Industry. He was an active member of the community and sat on several school and municipal boards. In his later years, Earle moved back to Claremont, where he continued his entrepreneurial endeavors. Dr. Martin Luther King wrote: “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” There were many facets to Earle’s personality. He was laid back and unassuming, kind, gentle, humble, a great neighbor and a loyal friend. He had a great sense of humor and his jokes were infectious. He had a strong work ethic and was hardworking to the very end. Earle exited this life on October 11, 2021. He is survived by daughter Cheryl, son Adrian, grand -daughter Abigail, stepsons Ricardo and Oniel, four sisters, three brothers, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and loved ones.

Proud to Call Him Dad The love and care of a father in a child’s life is significant to their growth and development. My father was a gentle, kind, tender-hearted person. I am so proud to call him Dad. He was always there for me. I could always talk to him and he was ready and willing to listen. He gave up opportunities, just to make sure both my brother and I were safe and secure. He went above and beyond for his family and friends. My Dad was a hard worker who was super smart. He was always appreciative of the things we did for him. My Dad was dear to my heart. I will surely miss him. Cheryll Brown - Daughter My father was a visionary and a deep thinker. He was committed to lifelong learning and was an avid newspaper reader, gaining knowledge on many topics. He also enjoyed friendly debates about social issues. He was committed to serving his community and was sought out for advice by many. I acquired some of these traits along with my dad’s first name as my middle name. I will strive to leave a mark on the world as he did. Adrian Brown - Son

Grandpa was such a wonderful person. He always encouraged me to do well in school. His light in my life will never go dim. It brings me much comfort to know there is a second coming, and we will see each other again. Abigail Brown – Granddaughter

I am saddened that your life’s journey in this realm has ended so soon, but I whole-heartedly cherish and celebrate the memorable times we spent together as a family. I will forever hold dearly the priceless life’s values that you have instilled within me, many of which I have also passed on to my children. It brings me great comfort to reflect on the numerous hearts and minds that you have positively impacted throughout your time with us. It was your innate nature to impart inspiring words of wisdom and encouragement to anyone who so desired advice. For me, this stands as a solid testimony of the charitable legacy that you have left for us to emulate and carry on. Continue to rest in perpetual peace Mr. Brown. You will be greatly missed! “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So, don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27) Oniel Chung - Stepson

Mr. Brown… a man of few words, eloquent when he spoke, in tune with the latest technology and also very humble. He taught me how to drive at the age of nine. I remember the days in that old Land Rover from FIDCO where he worked. Once, I crashed it in a coconut tree over by Mr. Steadman’s place. Thank goodness those Land Rovers are tough so no damage was done. Mr. Brown… a man who believed in education, so we all went to good schools. All in all he was a fun person and outgoing too. Most Sundays we were on the road whether visiting my mother’s side of the family in St Catherine or his in St Ann. I remember the circus trips, and movies at Harbour View Drive In. He lived a full life. RIP Mr. Brown and thank you. Ricardo Chung - Stepson

Memories Mr. Brown frequented my business place. On this particular day he couldn’t figure out the colour of my blouse. I said it was orange and he insisted it was red. He then laughed and stated that he probably didn’t know his colors, or it was time for him to go home, as it was getting dark. He will be fondly remembered, but sadly missed. Aunty Jenny – Friend

My brother, my friend, my confidant. God has taken you but I know it’s for a reason. I am sad, but your memory will live on. I cannot find the words to describe you. You were a selfless man, a man to your words, my travelling “buddy” and business partner. I am truly missing you Earle. Janice Davis - Dear friend

You meet people who you often forget. You meet people who you are sorry that you ever met. But, consider yourself lucky to have met Earle. Earle was kind, soft-spoken, genuine and an excellent businessman. He would give of his last just to make someone else’s life a little better. It will be hard to accept that he will no longer be with us, but for certain, it will be very hard to ever forget him. Sadly missed, Rosie

Earle, my neighbor, was a very unassuming person. As a young man, he never allowed himself to become a victim of any form of negative influence that existed around him. He kept his focus. Earle was multitalented. He was an ardent Land Surveyor who worked all over Jamaica. He was also a great farmer. The best quality produce came from his farm. He spent several years of his life as a successful entrepreneur and had a successful business. His family was his pride and joy. In every conversation we had he would mention them. The news of his passing shocked the entire community. He will be greatly missed. Beverly White – friend

EARL E - Eager, energetic, always on the go. A - Ambitious, always thinking of others. R - Reliable, a friend indeed. L - Loving and kind. Marie

I sadly regret the passing of Earle. He will be missed in so many ways. He showed concern for those around him. I remember when my mother-in-law was sick and passed away. Earl came to visit me in Rural Retreat. I remember also visiting him at his house before the pandemic, and just sitting and conversing with him warmed my heart. There are ten commandments and the first four refers to our love of God. The love he had for God was personal, because man looks on the outward, but only God can see the heart. The last six commandments, commands us to love our fellowmen. Earle demonstrated this in so many ways. May his soul rest in peace. Olson Francis

Gentle Giant Earle, our beloved brother, has been a tower of strength to all of us. His support has been strong and his love for family unmatched. A gentle giant of a man, his talents as a businessman, builder, farmer, and entrepreneur has earned him the respect of his colleagues. We will miss his ‘what can I do to help’ attitude dearly. May his soul rest in peace. From brothers: Alden, Renwick, Bradley. Sisters: Mereline, Maisilyn, Maxine, Hillary.
