Welcome to IPAAC 2014

T

o affect the course of man’s behavior is a formidable task because of the variant philosophies espoused in the culture. The influence of the Oneness Apostolic Movement in this regard is not as life-giving as it was in the days of the apostles. However, if apostolic people were to come to a position of unity in the body of Christ, the impact on the culture would be more dynamic.

Welcome to IPAAC 2014, a cause that seeks to change man’s heart from an ‘Inward Dependence’ to a ‘Jesus Encounter;’ that will enable him to grasp the reality of his eternal destiny. This is a conference that is designed to bridge the gap between various Oneness Apostolic philosophies. Contemporary culture needs an apostolic unit that is challenging to the status quo; that will swim upstream while maintaining its heritage and relevance. It is indeed a blessing to have three of the best messengers of our persuasion who are counter-culture enthusiasts; who will not compromise one iota of the Oneness Apostolic Doctrine. They are luminaries, who are consistently warning the body of Christ of the impending dangers of syncretism. We must maintain doctrinal purity and apostolic soundness, in order to impact our generation, while leaving a lasting legacy for the next group of Oneness Apostolic People. Allow this conference to resolve doubts about the Oneness Apostolic Foundation. It will help to chart the course ahead while battling the forces that are intruding, and seeking to put a yoke upon God’s people. We pray for God’s direction as we walk into the enemy’s camp, and seek to retrieve what he has stolen. We must recoup lost grounds in doctrinal soundness and the core values our apostolic ancestors left. We move forward as ONE CONSTITUENT in Christ. For the Kingdom, Charles C. Mullings, for IPAAC Committee.

Why IPAAC

hy IPAAC (International Pentecostal Apostolic Apologetics) IPAAC is a general evolution from a book written by the Convener concerning what he sees as deterioration in the apostolic position in the present culture. It is an annoyance to see the moral decay and the seeming ineffectiveness of the church to help alleviate the human quagmire. IPAAC is an issue from the book, ‘Backsliding Church Organizations. Additionally, it came into existence from a word spoken to the Convener’s Spirit by an inspired Evangelist. The principle is to unite pastors, which will in turn unite congregations, bringing revival to the entire body of Christ. After wrestling with the moral decadence in the culture, and observe the formidable task the church faces, the apostolic person can become more proactive by a profound statement made by Dr. David K. Bernard. “As tragic as many cultural changes are, in the end they may actually force us to become more truly apostolic.” With these lights shining in the darkness around, the Convener began the uphill task of bringing Apostolic Pastors to the ‘Unity Table.’ This journey has, so far, exposed some of the unforeseen forces working as inhibitors to unity in the body of Christ. One can scarcely imagine the maneuverings, the political underpinnings in churches that parade under the name ‘Jesus.’ These are unrelenting forces that labor against any meaningful solution ideas to build unity. At the HEART of the gridlock is an Unforgiving Spirit. This maybe one of the reasons the ‘church’ has lost much of its power and its authority as a ‘repairer of the breach.’ IPAAC came into existence to: • Bridge the ‘Divide’ • Bring healing to the hurting; • Curtail the tide of Oneness Apostolic Backsliding; • Bring apostolic people to the realization that as a unit we stand; as fragments we fall; • Represent doctrinal integrity to the pervading culture;

• Restrain the liberalization of the Oneness Apostolic Movement; • Stand firm on the faith that was once delivered to the saints. IPAAC is, therefore, a call to Oneness Apostolic unity in order to preserve and build on the Oneness Apostolic Heritage delivered to the saints by the Apostolic Fathers. All hope is not lost; Jesus declares, ‘the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church.’ However, this generation must desist from tearing down the foundations that were laid by the blood of Jesus and by the blood, sweat and tears of the martyrs of this august body of believers. “If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Many attempts at bringing unity to this body of believers came by inspiration but have fallen by the wayside. Currently, there is FAST FELLOWSHIP, a revelation to a couple of pastors who saw the deep divisions in the Oneness Apostolic ranks and were mandated to make an appeal to bring unity. Three times yearly, Pastors and their congregants come together to fast, pray and seek the face of God. This fellowship invites the participation of all pastors and their congregations in South Florida. Join the efforts of Fast Fellowship, support the cause of IPAAC, and watch God move to heal the ranks. “If my people, who are called by my name…” Dr. Charles C. Mullings, Convener

Apologetics - What Is It?

T

he term apologetics etymologically derives from the classic Greek word apologia. It means to speak in defense, and often it is the discipline of defending a religious position through systematic use of information. To deliver an apologia means making a formal declaration giving an explanation to refute charges made. Socrates defense of his philosophy is a principal example. Many religions, for example, Christian, Mormonism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism use apologetics to defend their faith against cross-attacks from each other. Most appropriately, this term is used in apostolic circles, to focus attention on the need to contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. The classical Greek word apologia appears in the Greek New Testament from which the New Testament was translated. The term was applied to the Apostle Paul in his speech to King Agrippa when he says “… I shall answer for myself…” Acts 26:2. An equivalent term appears in Paul’s Letter to the Philippians as he makes his “case for the gospel” (Phil 1:7). R. C. Sproul writes: The defense of the apostolic faith is not an extravagance of a scholarly arrogance. It is a mission fixed by God that the saint should be able to give an explanation of the faith that is within him.1 The epistle, I Peter 3:15 states, “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and respect.”

One God and His One Name: – The Central Doctrine of the Scriptures –

“And they shall teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest” (Hebrews 8:11). “And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one” (Zechariah 14:9). Introduction The first commandment and the central doctrine of the Scriptures is: There is one God and His name is one.” This is a doctrine that all Christians must get right, and one they must love and proclaim with zeal and sincerity. To embrace error here is to subject ourselves to many other fallacies and delusions that lead men astray. I. The First Commandment: “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.” II. The Development of Mythical Math III. His Name: “The God Who Makes Things Happen!” Conclusion God was always a single entity. He begat a human Son, the Christ, God incarnate, who was fully God yet fully man—a mediator between God and men. He has not changed, nor has His name changed—“He is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8).

The Leaven of the Pharisees

Outline

Matthew 16:6,11,12: “Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. V. 11, 12 How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.” I Corinthians 5:6,7 – “Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out the old leaven….” Introduction Christ was not giving them a lesson in food preparation, but speaking to them of doctrinal purity, and keeping themselves free from theological error. He urged the NT church to follow the same pattern in I Thessalonians 2:1-12. I. The Right Message • “The appeal we make [our message] does not spring from error.” II. The Right Motives • The appeal we make [our message] does not spring… from impure motives.” III. The Right Methods • “Nor are we trying to trick you.” Conclusion Maintaining the right message, the right motives, and the right methods will ensure us good success of the kind that comes from the gracious hand of God!

The Doctrine of Oprah and Her Followers II. Other Syncretic Approaches to Doctrine • The “Other Sheep” theory

• The Light Doctrine

• The Two Destination Doctrine

• Roman Catholic Mysticism
