The Pastor’s Message Greetings and welcome to all our friends and guests that are celebrating with us on this our 36th Anniversary. Without your prayers and support we certainly would not be where we are today. Thank you all for your continued prayer and support. May you be blessed by our Gracious Lord for all that you do for the up-building of His Kingdom on earth. Our Theme for this year is: IT’S A NEW SEASON The Bible says in Ezekiel 34:26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. Rev. & Mrs. Albert Guthrie A season is a division or period of time as in the four seasons of the year. But there are other types of seasons as well. Solomon said in Eccl. 3:1 In everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. God in His orderliness has divided the year into four quarters and we know those times as seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn (Fall) and Winter. But inasmuch as there are earthly seasons, people and ministries also go through seasons. Seasons affect all of us and everything we do in different ways. Seasons dictate to us how we dress, the activities we engage in, even what we eat and also our moods and attitudes. Seasons impact us in virtually every aspect of our lives.
To be sure, every one of us is currently going through some kind of a season. Some seasons may be pleasant and enjoyable while others tend to make us feel depressed, discouraged and out of sorts. The Bible said in 1Chron. 12:32 (That) the children of Issachar, were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do. On that basis it is in our best interest to consult with our Father that He may reveal to us what season we are in so that we may take full advantage of what God is trying to say or do in our lives, because every act of God has a purpose.
This is therefore very important because when we are going through our seasons, there are times in which life is trending either in circles or in opposition to our desired goals. As a church and as a ministry we have had those seasons; sometimes we find ourselves in a dry place, and it would seem as if God has withdrawn Himself from us, and what is even more discouraging at times, is, these seasons don’t seem to have any certain scheduled ending date. Yes you may have prayed, you may have fasted, and even sowed faith seeds and nothing seems to change, at least not immediately. But what is important to know is, it’s a season and seasons change, therefore whatever we are going through it will pass regardless of the unknown duration. Seasons sometimes are periods of Divine training, discipline or preparation according to the wisdom and plan of God. God takes us through these times that bring us at times to our breaking point, but in His Divine plan He is perfecting His purpose in us. The Bible says that God chastens those He loves, because He has a purpose in mind; although it’s a purpose that may not be immediately apparent to us. But the Bible says in all things we
must give thanks. So when you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, keep praising God and give thanks. Daniel and his friends having found themselves in a great predicament did not panic and throw up their hands in despair, but spoke boldly to King Nebuchadnezzar in the face of death with these words: “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king
We are certainly giving thanks to our God who has brought us this far. God has taken us through challenging times but also through times of refreshing. On July 6th of this year we began a week of prayer and fasting, but this was so well attended we had to keep extending it, finally culminating on August 3rd, twenty one days in total, and God moved mightily. Some were baptized with the baptism of the Holy Spirit, others received gifts of the Spirit, others came to know their Divine purpose and calling in life, etc. It was truly a season of refreshing and encouragement.
We were most pleased to have some of our young people with us every night participating in Praise and Worship and rededicating their lives to God. And there is now a new atmosphere of expectancy, and worship is at an all-time high. Glory to God.
In closing let me encourage us all to be patient when your season seems to take the wrong turn, just remember that seasons come and go, and God is in control of everything. So be assured that your season will change, hopefully to your advantage.
Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
God bless you all. Keep serving, keep hope alive and keep your eyes on Jesus. With our love.
Pastor and Sis. Guthrie
We give all honor and glory to God for His love and grace. The Seniors’ Department of the Open Bible Church of Miami is a very active ministry. We are so thankful to God that Pastor decided to implement this ministry in our church. We have grown tremendously. As members, it has allowed us seniors, who were once inactive in the Body of Christ to become more involved and partake of several different activities. It is truly a joy for us! We continue to visit the Nursing Home once a month. Our meetings are held every third Friday of each month, beginning at 7:30pm. Please join us. Individuals must be 50 and over to join. We look forward to you being a part of our ministry. May God Bless You! Happy Anniversary OBCC
T
o be a young person in America today is increasingly more and more challenging. As cultural, moral and spiritual degradation eats away at our society, the task of ministering to people becomes more and more difficult. Problems now affecting our youth, range from gender identity crisis to racial discrimination and many other issues in between. It is now blatantly clear that the approach to evangelism cannot be antiquated and irrelevant. We know the Word of God remains the same but the dedication and method of delivering the Word must be revised and upgraded to capture the attention of our youth and people in general. It’s with this mindset that we approached ministry in 2014-2015 and we have seen amazing results! This past year we have seen a spiritual awakening in the lives of many of our young people. Through the involvement in programs such as our annual Prayer Breakfast, Summer Camp, Youth meetings, Summer Prayer Series and Dance Extravaganza, the youth now have a sense of belonging and purpose. We have taken steps to engage them every day through social media also. Our Bible verse for the year highlights the general mindset that we have operated in for this year’s program. Daniel 11:32b “…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” We will now challenge ourselves to remain steadfast to the task at hand. Unrelenting fervent prayer and evangelism, daily interactions and counsel, intercession and encouragement. Instruction and love. These are just some of the tools we will use, empowered by the Word of God to face the onslaught of the enemy of our souls. We will educate them in Godly principles and covenants. We will show love in all things and not judge them without cause. We will stand behind them to be their foundation, we will stand beside them to be their aid. We will stand before them to be their shield and we will not fail because this is the mandate that God has given to us as a body of believers. Let us continue to pray for our young people in our church and all the youth of America that God would raise them up to do mighty things in His Name. Amen
Congratulations to Open Bible Community Church on your Thirty Sixth Anniversary The Word of Life Open Bible Church Family congratulates you on your thirty sixth anniversary. We know that you did not come thirty six years without any challenges from the evil one. But what an assurance we have from the Lord; He says in Hebrews 13:5 “I will never leave you nor forsake you” Therefore we can boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear what can man do to me.” Another writer said “we have come this far by faith leaning on the Lord” This truly is a time to rejoice and celebrate as we reflect on the goodness of the Lord. The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 12, when one member rejoice all the members should rejoice with it. So it is but fitting that we rejoice with you on this glorious occasion. But as we celebrate and give thanks for past blessings we must not take for granted that the future is going to be without challenges, it certainly is not going to be easy but we know that greater is he who is in us than he that is in the world. As the Apostle Paul in his writing to the Ephesians church in Eph.6:12 would say “we are not fighting against flesh and blood” nor are we fighting against each other. With all the challenges that we are facing today if there has ever been a time that we need to come together and unite as one, it is now. The forces of evil are uniting and they are making threats and carrying them out; they are putting innocent people lives in danger and causing great problems in the Christian community. We can’t just sit on our hands any longer and do nothing, we too need to unite and fight back hard with the power of prayer and fasting. Let me take this opportunity to thank you for the great help and support you gave to us down through the years. You have always been there for us and we truly appreciate how you so graciously travel all the way from Miami to worship with us and to encourage us in the Lord. We say thanks to all of you, and we hope and pray the fellowship will continue as we go forward together. Let me close by wishing you all many more successful years in this ministry. May God go before you and remove all hindrances by bringing every high place down and by making the crooked places straight, the rough places smooth, and the darkness light. May he forever bless the road that you travel on, and may he grant you favor in everything you do for him. Have a bless day from all of us here at Word of Life Open Bible Church. Rev. John Alleyne

In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
• The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. • For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

What an awesome and magnificent God we serve!
Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
2 Corinthians 4:7 : We have this treasure in earthen vessels that the Excellency of the power maybe of God and not of us. We the ladies of the Women’s Ministry of the Open Bible Church of Miami strive to empower women to be like-minded, having the same love, being one in Spirit and one mind; having tenderness and compassion towards everyone; we must be united in love. As we continue to minister, we pray for a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit. We ask God for boldness to speak His Word to the unsaved and those who need to hear it. We look to God for signs to follow in our lives. Our desire is to live victorious lives in Christ Jesus as we watch and pray for His coming. The enemy comes to steal and destroy, but we take authority in Jesus Name! Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. Praise God both now and forevermore!
We look forward to continually working for the Lord under the leadership of His Holy Spirit. Happy Anniversary OBCC.
Empowering women to be like minded, having the same love, being one in Spirit and of one mind, having tenderness and compassion; united in love.
Happy Anniversary OBCC..... Congratulating our Pastor and Ministers for a job well done by allowing the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you and to show you the right way to lead the church for the past 36 years. May the good Lord continue to bless you as you enter a new season in the faith .
This summer the Prayer Ministry facilitated a Holy Spirit inspired explosion in the hearts and lives of people and families. What was planned for a week of prayer and fasting beginning on July 6, 2015, instead became a month long yearning for more of God. In fact the revival continues on Thursday nights. Our theme was: “Holy Spirit power to the people of God. The Spirit led this series of prayer meetings in a new way: We held praise and worship sessions and nightly teaching on the baptism in the Holy Spirit, practices of the Early Church, and Pentecostal experiences. Some youth and adults were filled and baptized in the Spirit, and others enjoyed the beautiful presence of God. Members and guests gave prophecies, testimonies, and exhortations after times of prayer. Others gave testimonials of physical healing! One sister had unknowingly sustained a broken wrist, and began to experience intense pain. One night she was completely healed! By the Spirit, some people were able to identify new gifts and areas of ministry to fulfill. Broadly speaking, the saints were blessed and renewed! A highlight of this season of prayer occurred one night when a 14 year old young girl took the microphone, and interceded for her peers at school, preached the Word, repented for herself and others, prophesied to the saints, and pronounced correction for mistakes - all in about an hour. It was a joy to see so many young people energized, renewed, and reconsecrated to Christ. We saw unprecedented numbers each night. There was clear evidence of excitement, joy, and hearts yearning for more of God. We are experiencing revival at OBCC - praise God! We will continue to pray and invoke the presence and leading of the blessed Holy Spirit in all that we do in our church, homes, and community. We pray that the spiritual, physical, and emotional fruit of this revival will continue to grow in our lives and church. Amen.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. For most of us Christians, we were saved as adults. As we grew to know Jesus, and begun to experience His love and forgiveness in our lives, our only regret was that we didn’t surrender our lives to Him sooner, early in our youth. In Children’s Ministry, our passion and focus, driven by the Holy Spirit, is to share the gospel of Christ with children/youth in a way that creates an indelible mark upon their lives, one that would last a lifetime. Children’s Ministry plays a pivotal role in helping to shape the minds of children so that they can impact the world for Jesus Christ. As we present the Word of God with purpose, power and exuberance, we rely solely on God to create the impression upon young hearts. Our desire is to see children enjoy living a Christian life at an early age, always resisting the enemy’s tactics and succumbing to God’s will in their lives. The impartation of the teachings of the Bible upon young children, in a meaningful manner, can counteract the evil effects of many issues they will face in an adverse culture as they grow and even into adulthood. We are thereby compelled as teachers of God’s Word to use our time here on earth to nurture young minds for the cause of Christ. What a joy and privilege to know Christ as our Savior and Lord! Open Bible’s Missionary Department is dedicated to serving a broken world and reaching the lost both near and far. In conjunction with Venture Plan, we support many mission outreaches in countries such as Mexico, Hungary, Africa, China and more. We take Matthew 28:19 very seriously, which says “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Once per month we hit the streets to witness to the lost, which is in keeping with Jesus’ Word. We hope to continue to do God’s will in whatever capacity He sees fit. We thank God, and thank the faithful who help to make things happen in this department month after month. Happy 35th Anniversary OBCC.
