It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to this 20th Anniversary Legacy Gala. This event has been designed with a strategic priority to focus on the faithfulness of God to this ministry over the past two decades. Since its inception, Pentecostal Tabernacle has thrived as a result of the favor of God and with the support of you, our Kingdom partners. OurHistory From a hotel meeting room, to a high school auditorium and cafeteria, to a renovated night club and grocery store, Pentecostal Tabernacle has been a church on the move, impacting Miami Gardens and the world. Approximately 150 people attended the inaugural service of Pentecostal Tabernacle of North Miami on June 23, 1996, which was held in the conference room of the Miami Inn at 16805 NW 12th Avenue. A sign across the
front of the room proclaimed in bright red letters, “Focus on Jesus,” and Pastor S. Robert Stewart’s first sermon, “From Glory to Glory,” began the journey of what would soon become Pentecostal Tabernacle International, Inc. In less than a year, PenTab outgrew the hotel, and on Easter morning, March 30, 1997, Pentecostal Tabernacle held its first service in the auditorium of Miami Norland Senior High School. For the next year, Sunday services were held in the auditorium and Wednesday night Bible studies were held in the school cafeteria. The weekly packing and unpacking of the church’s
equipment was tedious, and a search began for a permanent home for PenTab. On March 5, 1998, the deed for the shopping plaza at 18415 NW 7th Ave., was signed. The property, which once housed a Winn Dixie, a hardware store, a dry cleaner, a night club and a florist, still had a few tenants including a small grocery store, a nail shop, a hairdresser, an African store and a doctor’s office. Soon, one of the store fronts, the night club, was renovated and church services moved from the high school to the church property. Renovations
began on the former Winn Dixie, and the main sanctuary was dedicated to the Lord on February 5, 2000. Since then, the shopping plaza has been transformed into a beacon of light to the community. In 2002, PenTab Academy, a Christian daycare and Kindergarten through Eighth grade private school, opened and currently has more than 250 students. The school provides academic excellence, aftercare and a summer program in a Christian environment with a
Biblically-based curriculum. PenTab also established a community outreach program, the Center for Advancement Restoration and Empowerment (C.A.R.E.), whose mission is to restore a sense of hope and productiveness to those who have experienced emotional, physical, spiritual and mental hardships, and to empower them to help themselves through counseling, education, advocacy, and utilization of available resources that will enable them to become self-sufficient, productive members of the community. The campus also houses a recording studio, a Christian Bookstore and a Spanish ministry. Internationally, Pentecostal Tabernacle has affiliated churches
in Turks and Caicos, Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, as well as state-side in Kissimmee and West Palm Beach. PenTab has also sent relief supplies to various countries and communities suffering from disaster, has sent members on “missionary journeys” to countries such as Guyana, Argentina, and Ethiopia, and has supported building programs for other churches. Throughout this 20-year journey, the now 800-plus members of Pentecostal Tabernacle have continued to follow Pastor Stewart’s charge to keep the “Focus on Jesus,” and to be “His Hands, His Feet and His Heart” to a struggling community and a dying world.

he Bible states that the church is “built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” (Ephesians 2:20). At Pentecostal Tabernacle, we strive to emulate the actions of obedience by the Apostles that today form the foundation for our beliefs and understanding of God’s Word. It is our desire to pass this Apostolic Doctrine to future generations, leave a written record of the experiences and testimonies of Apostolics, provide theological resources for the edifying and equipping of Apostolics, and leave behind facilities and funds for the propagation of the Apostolic Doctrine.
To further realize this vision, we searched for the ideal location for a camp and retreat center. Our dream was to build: • A place where many will answer the call to salvation. • A place where godly relationships can be forged. • A place where people can heed the call of God to ministry. • A place where people can look into nature -- and listen to God. • A place where priorities become realigned. • A place where personal goals give way to God’s perfect will. • A place where lives can be changed.
The campus has been given the name, Apostolic Village, and hosted its inaugural service and dedication on July 24, 2008, where campers from Apostolic Camp International and guests convened to celebrate the faithfulness of God. Apostolic Village is designed to be a private retreat development offering vast nature views, a sprawling lake, conference facilities, outdoor recreational settings and camping facilities. Apostolic Village will be a 145 acres of land in Offerman, Georgia
