PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
January ushered in the New Year, a time for reflection of the past year and resolutions for the New Year. The 2023 Superbowl is almost here and soon, February 2, the groundhog will crawl out of his home, willingly or possibly with a little help.
December was an exciting and busy month. Our Christmas Auction on December 2 was a successful event! Janice Pribble and her committee worked hard creating beautiful baskets filled with gifts and preparing the items donated by our members. The Audible Auction is always entertaining, productive, and successful when Councilman Jeff Copeland is Auctioneer. The Silent Auction was busy with bidders vying for must-have items and ended up selling out. We also continued the tradition of our Bake Sale. We had an assortment of delicious cookies, candy, cakes, and pies which quickly sold.
Jean VanSchaick and her committee provided a much-anticipated savory feast for lunch. The Chicken Asparagus Casserole was delicious, but I have to say, the Hummingbird Cake was the best. Thanks again to Debbie Beaudin and her committee for decorating the building, including beautiful miniature Christmas trees for the tables. All that were there can attest to the beauty of the decorations.
My Executive Committee is the best and have worked to make our endeavors successful. This Christmas holiday has come and gone. It’s hard to believe. For me, it went by in a flash. It takes all of us working together to reach our goals. I have experienced how loving and caring the members are, and how quick they are to pitch in and help with fundraisers or whatever needs to be done.
We want to wish you a Happy 2023 New Year.
