PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

October was our first General Meeting and was attended by members, new members, Retired Teachers and guests. Jean VanSchaick and her committee once again prepared a delicious lunch. Debbie Beaudin and her committee created the beautiful, fresh flower arrangements for each table. Our guest speaker was Amber Zuckerman, Vice President of Development and Community Investment, at Arlington Museum of Art. Ms. Zuckerman’s program was exciting and enlightening; showing us where the museum is today and also sharing where the museum is evolving to in the near future. Also, a big thank you to Brenda Skinner and Joyce Wood for all their hard work on the di rectories. Please pick yours up at the club next time you’re there.

The Tour of Tables was a success, thanks to Jackie Blackburn, her committee, the designers, the ones that prepared the food and, of course, all of you that supported the event through the pur chase of the tickets. The theme of each table was decided by the designer and was a unique, one-of-a-kind design. A big thank you to everyone that brought desserts. The dessert bar had scrumptious confections that was as varied as the designers’ tables. The proceeds will benefit our scholarship fund!

Chair Janice Pribble and her Committee have been working hard to ensure this year’s auction’s success. We can use new or gently used items, gift cards and cash donations to use to purchase auction items. You may bring your donations to the Club beginning November 14. Due to the stage draperies being installed on November 16. Auction items are to be put on tables in the au ditorium. Please bring baked goods on November 18th It wouldn’t have been the success it is without your baked goods to sell at the Auction.

We definitely want to thank Sara Dedeluk for all her hard work on the newsletters each month. We also wanted to thank Cindy Tarrant for the email blasts she sends out on short notice to en sure we stay in the “know” of what’s going on and when.

The Woman’s Club of Grand Prairie is planning its annual Christmas silent auc�on event at the Woman’s Club building on December 2, 2022. We are currently seeking dona�ons to assist in our endeavor.

The club provides educa�onal and charitable benefits to the people of Grand Prairie by providing scholarships to Grand Prairie gradua�ng seniors each year. The club also provides dona�ons to other non-profit and philanthropic organiza�ons in the city including Kids I.N.C. In addi�on, the Woman’s Club of Grand Prairie donates to several other worthy causes in the community.

The club relies on dona�ons from club members as well as businesses to help provide items for our auc�on. If

could assist us in this endeavor, the club would be most apprecia�ve. The Woman’s Club of Grand Prairie is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organiza�on and all dona�ons are tax deduc�ble.
