Cloudy2Clear Announce Trusted Trader Partnership Consumer champions Which? have now joined the thousands of customers who recognise that Cloudy2Clear Windows really are a business that you can TRUST. The company which specialises in repairing windows which are steamed up, broken or damaged by replacing the panes – not the frames has received the coveted ‘Which Trusted Trader’ status after going through a rigorous accreditation process entirely focussed on customer service. Group Managing Director Marcus McGee believes that Which? have endorsed Cloudy2Clear’s long standing company policy
of delivering the highest standards possible at all times. ‘Our service is simple. If your double glazing has misted up we can replace the glass at a fraction of the cost of a new window, in any type of frame, and with a new 25 year guarantee. But it’s not just about saving people money, although that obviously helps. Whilst a number of tradespeople perhaps don’t focus on customer care as much as they should do, we make sure we turn up when we say we will, do the job the customer requires and leave their house as clean as a whistle. Locally Cloudy2Clear service the towns and villages in and around the Evesham
The Worcestershire Grapevine
& Pershore area and manager Paul Papandreou agrees that this approach is a major factor in his success. ‘The truth is that it’s not just the personal satisfaction that I get from doing a good job but also it makes good business sense. I get a huge amount of business from friends and family of people I’ve done work for, which just goes to show how much a little bit of effort is appreciated as both my customers and, obviously a body as nationally important as Which? now recognise.’ So, if your windows are steamed up, broken or damaged give Paul a call for a free quotation on 0800 61 21 118 and he’ll be happy to help!

October is the month of Halloween, with “ghoulies and ghosties, and long-leggedy beasties, and things that go bump in the night”. It’s also the month for Trick or Treating, and as much fun as this can be for the youngsters, please do read the West Mercia Police article on page 18 and take heed of the advice given on this particular subject. And whilst on the subject of Halloween, here’s a piece of trivia that might interest you: many people think that the custom of celebrating Halloween and Trick or Treating are American, but in fact both are much older than that and originated in ancient Celtic times, long before the modern American variation. Moving on, if you’d like to learn how to arrange flowers, don’t miss the Flower Arranging Demonstration in Inkberrow which is advertised on page 35. Although this is not until 3rd November, we wanted to let you know about it well in advance so you wouldn’t miss out. If you are looking for somewhere to take the kids for half term, how about West Midlands Safari Park, who are celebrating the birth of their second baby rhino in two years - more about this on page 24.
Amy Marshall Geraldine Holbourn Jonathan Bishop Pamela Green Sue Johnson Trevor Langley
And if you have a look at the What’s On page, you’ll see there’s lots more happening in and around the county.

Welcome to the October magazine . . . and the start of autumn. The nights are drawing in and there’s a definite chill in the air – time to break out the long johns and winter woollies!

***** American Presidents . . . past Remember those glory days when the worst president the US had ever had was Shrub (aka George Dubya Bush junior) . . . oh joy, oh bliss! But all was not well in the US of A. Terrorists captured three ex-presidents - Bush senior, Bill Clinton and Dubya - and took them out into the yard to shoot them. Bush senior is up first and is led out into the middle of the yard. Just in time, he looks up and shouts ‘Hurricane!' Everyone looks up and while they’re distracted, Bush senior runs to the fence, jumps over and escapes. Clinton takes due note and when it’s his turn, he looks up, shouts ‘Tornado!’ and escapes the same way. Dubya has also been watching and thinks to himself ‘I need a catastrophe, I need a catastrophe’, and when it’s his turn, he looks up and shouts ‘Fire!’

During a lull between the speeches at the recent presidential swearing-in ceremony, Melania Trump leaned over to chat with the Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson. "You know, I bought Donald a parrot for Christmas. That bird is so smart, Donald has already taught him to say over two hundred words!" "Wow, that's pretty impressive," said Tillerson, "but you do realize that he just speaks the words . . . he doesn't really understand what they mean." "Oh, I know that," Melania replied, "But then neither does the parrot."

he season of cobweb lace hanging in the hedgerows is upon us. Berries glow from golden leaved hawthorn and the holly looks ripe for Christmas already. The hornets are no longer hawking through the flowerbeds hunting for the bees, or the queens searching for nectar to help her through her long hibernation. By now her workers are all dead. Their job done for another year, the next generation dependant entirely on the sleeping hornet queen, motion-less in some dark, safe, crevice, waiting for the warmth of next spring to rouse her from her sleep to begin the cycle of their lives all over again. The bats I met at dusk one August evening, seeming to fly straight at me as though they were fighter squadrons, then veering away at the last minute, have closed their leather like
16
wings and hang in suspended animation until the first warm evening when they will fly again. Then they will ‘hold me in awe once more as I watch them swoop around me. And if you were plagued by gnats this summer, here’s a reason to help them: one pipistrelle will eat three thousand gnats a night. Three thousand less to bite you. As the raspberry crop came to an end, so the blackberries began to ripen, but I had to be patient this year. A cold, wet late July and August delayed the harvest and I was not picking really scrummy fruit until September. The delay may well have begun in May when north westerlies swept across the hill holding everything back for at least two weeks. Flowers remained tantalisingly closed and blossom on some of the apple trees was ripped off just as it opened which meant no apples at all on some of the more
exposed trees. And now the last of the blackberries are hard and bitter, gathering mould as they shrivel on the brambles. The greengages though have excelled themselves, the best crop ever and they were lovely too. I was not the only one to enjoy them either as I discovered while working in the garden one morning. Anyone with dogs will know that if you take them with you blackberry picking they will enjoy the odd berry or two. My golden retrievers used to ‘help’ pick, although none of the blackberries they took ever ended up in the basket. But what I saw that August morning was a first: one of the whippets standing on an old upturned dinghy eating greengages. I was so amazed that I rushed to get my camera to record the event because, as they say . . . seeing is believing. Article and photograph by Geraldine Holbourn

Fantastic Ile De Re I
f you look for tranquillity on your holidays, then you should visit Ile De Re, a beautiful island accessed via a bridge from Rochelle, France. My husband, Michael, and I visited the island in September last year, when many of the tourists had left. We were astounded with the beauty of the place and the peace and quiet. The leafy squares and narrow streets with white painted houses and green shuttered windows looked like a dream to us. That was until we tried to turn a sharp bend towing our large caravan. The residents looked on in amusement as they
20
watched my husband delicately, with skill and care, manoeuvre around the corner, missing their homes with inches to spare! Our campsite was great and that evening we sat outside listening to birdsong as we watched the sun go down. What more can you ask? The island is flat and with such narrow streets that most visitors hire bikes. There are many cycle paths, and these will take you among some beautiful sights. On the one side you will be amazed by the fields of golden corn, and vineyards, whilst on the other side there are golden beaches and the vast blue Atlantic Ocean, with shimmering yachts. But, if you get saddle sore you can use your car to explore – you just need to take it slowly.

During Roman times Ile De Re was an archipelago, consisting of three small islands. The space between was mainly taken up with the salt marshes. This area is called Loix, and is one of my favourite places. This peninsula inside the islands is wild and natural, and you can explore the diversity and originality of the islands natural heritage. Today the Government of Ile De Re, still encourage the historic salt production. We found the salt marshes very interesting. We sat for a long while watching and photographing the men working the salt pans, gathering salt in the old way, as they have done for centuries. You can purchase the tiny bags of salt in the tourist shops in Saint Martins Bay or any of the other small towns along the coast. The island has a thriving economy based on wine production, and fresh fruit and vegetables, which is run as a cooperative. On our visit to the winery, we tasted some delicious wines that are delicately blended with cognac. They say you have to visit the distillery to discover the secret of the mixing. We certainly did, and purchased several bottles to take home for special occasions.

Anyone for Coffee? C
offee is said to have originated in Ethiopia in about 750 AD when a Sufi goatherd called Kaldi noticed his goats became energised after eating the berries. He reported his findings to the abbot of the local monastery who made a drink from the berries that kept him alert during evening prayer. The discovery spread through the Muslim world, reaching Europe via Italy where Venetian merchants traded with North African ports. Coffee was imported to London by Daniel Edwards who travelled in Turkish goods. He opened a coffee stall in 1652 in St Michael’s Alley, Cornhill. It was managed by his Greek servant, Pasqua Rosee. To the dismay of the many public houses in the area, Pasqua sold over 600 dishes of coffee a day. The drink was said to taste disgusting but the caffeine proved addictive. Coffee was portrayed as an antidote to drunkenness, violence and lust and a catalyst for pure thought, sophistication and wit. From the 17th century, coffee was grown in our North American colonies where it was known as ‘politician’s porridge.’ It was taken sweetened with sugar, but never with milk. No alcohol was served in the coffee houses and women were excluded. Each coffee house had its own clientele – usually defined by occupation, interests or political beliefs – for example Tories and
22
Whigs, traders and merchants, poets and authors or men of fashion and leisure. The coffee houses were known as ‘penny universities’ as this was the cost of a cup of coffee. (This included endless refills.) Patrons included Samuel Pepys, John Dryden, Alexander Pope and Isaac Newton. Some coffee houses were the haunts of criminals and prostitutes. At Moll King’s in Covent Garden, patrons could sober up after a night of drinking, browse a directory of prostitutes before being led to the requisite brothel in nearby Bow Street. Any social class could visit a coffee shop and they became associated with equality and republicanism. Charles II became so concerned that for the cost of one penny, anyone could discuss politics openly that in 1675 he tried to ban them. A public outcry followed – and he changed his mind. Many famous institutions began in coffee houses. The London Stock Exchange began in Jonathan’s Coffee House in 1698 where gentlemen met to set stock and commodity prices. Lloyds of London began in Edward
Lloyd’s coffee house in Lombard Street where merchants, shippers and underwriters met to do business. Two of the great auction houses – Sothebys and Christies also began life in this way. In 1712, Buttons Coffee House in Russell Street was a place where poets, playwrights, journalists and members of the public gathered round long wooden tables and discussed literature into the night. The white marble head of a lion with gaping jaws was nailed to the wall and people were invited to feed it with letters, limericks and stories. The best of these were published in Joseph Addison’s Guardian newspaper in a section entitled ‘the roarings of the lion.’ By 1739 there were over 550 coffee houses in London. Their popularity declined due to the new fashion for tea and the rise of the gentlemen’s clubs. The first coffee house to serve tea was Thomas Garraway’s in Exchange Alley, Cornhill. However, Pasqua Rosee’s ‘bitter Mohammedan gruel’ had transformed London forever.

Safari Park Charged Up For Second Rhino Birth In Two Years . . .
W
est Midland Safari Park is celebrating the birth of a second baby southern white rhino in the space of 18 months and this time, it’s a girl! Following a lengthy pregnancy of 16 months, first-time mum, eight-year-old Keyah, gave birth to the cute youngster at 5:23pm on Friday 8th September. The long-awaited new arrival took around an hour to find her feet and was alert and feeding at around five hours old. The calf was separated briefly from her mum for a swift health check and at just 30 hours old, already weighed a whopping 70kg (11 stone)!
24
This birth is another great success for the Park and its white rhino breeding programme, following the arrival of the baby girl's halfbrother, Ekozu, in March last year. In the wild, southern white rhinos face a huge threat due to habitat loss and more commonly, poaching. Head Keeper of Ungulates, Lisa Watkins said, “The team are really pleased that all of their hard work has resulted in this fantastic healthy calf. Keyah has taken it in her stride and is proving to be a fantastic mother. The calf is feeding well and settling into the daily routines.”
the weather. Once settled, we will slowly introduce her to the rest of the crash, including her older halfbrother, Ekozu.” The chunky youngster is yet to be named, but keepers will choose a name beginning with ‘F,' as all the babies born at the Park in 2017 begin with this letter.
She continued, “With the current threats that rhinos are facing in the wild, this birth is even more important to the population as a whole. Breeding in zoological collections provides a valuable safety net for their wild counterparts.
This baby is the first female calf to be born at the Park for 15 years and is the newest addition to the Park’s small ‘crash’ of southern white rhinos, made up of four females and two males. Mum, Keyah, was born at CERZA Parc Zoologique Lisieux in France and came to the Safari Park in November 2011, as a recommendation from the European Endangered Species Programmes (EEP), to breed with dad, elevenyear-old Barney.
Over the next few weeks Keyah and the calf will get used to the great outdoors, first in the paddock and later in the reserves, depending on

needs doing once every four to seven years depending on how well they are growing and the condition they are in.
Creating Your Garden Paradise article by Jonathan Bishop
Pruning up an Herbaceous Border A
lot of people have herbaceous plants either mixed in with shrubs, or in a designated border. As you probably already know, herbaceous plants are the colourful ones that sprout up from the ground or as a perennial wooded stem that then sprouts out from the stem. A lot of herbaceous die down to ground level, but just before they do so in this Autumn weather, now is the time to mark and divide before the ground becomes too soft.
28
Dividing clump forming herbaceous plants Clump forming herbaceous plants are the ones that spread from the base and get thicker and thicker, and can usually be divided up – it is probably wise to carry out a little research on which ones can tolerate this before you start. However, normally if they are clump forming, either from a corm or a root stock such as Crocosmia or Hemerocallis (Day Lily), the easiest thing to do is to put a sheet down and dig the herbaceous plants up. This really
Then literally put a spade between them and cut them into four, planting one quarter back into the existing hole. Another quarter can be planted up in another section of your herbaceous border, and I suggest giving the other two away to a gardening club or friends. The reason for not putting the other two back into your border is that they are clump forming and pretty dominant, which means you could end up with the same plants virtually taking over the whole bed. An example of a plant that would do this is the Japanese Anemone. Planning your planting Always mark up and take lots of photographs of your bed beforehand and afterwards because the herbaceous plants will die back to ground level and you will forget exactly where they are. Bulbs This is also the best time to buy bulbs if you want to add bulbs to your border because you can work out exactly where to put them. If you have a photograph of the border with all the heights in, this will help you work out where to put the bulbs so that they are not hidden.
To advertise call 01684 833715 or email: info@grapevinepublications.co.uk
In my experience, many people make the mistake of putting, for example, daffodils in and then all the herbaceous stuff grows up in front of the bulbs so that it obscures them from view. Protecting your herbaceous plants Again, now is the time to start looking at protecting some of the herbaceous stuff from frost, such as Gunnera Manicata (very big herbaceous prickly rhubarb), which needs its crowns covered. The best way of doing this is cutting all the existing leaves off, turn them upside down on the crown and then cut the stalks off the leaves, using them for weight. This is a natural way of protecting them, which would normally happen when the leaves dropped, but you are just ensuring maximum protection. Dahlias With things like Dahlias, you have the option of lifting them and bringing them inside, or protecting them. The disadvantage of leaving them where they are is if you get a very wet winter and you have boggy ground, this would either rot them or, if they
do manage to survive, slugs can then attack them. The best way is to mark them with a flowerpot, put dry straw into the flowerpot and put that over the top of the Dahlias when they have finished flowering. Getting your heights correct is most important. Obviously you don’t want to divide something like low growing Sedum and end up having it at the back of the border where you don’t see it or it can end up getting smothered out, so getting the correct spacing is essential.
Why divide? The reason for dividing is that clump forming plants know they are doing well by their nature and they will produce fewer flowers. By dividing the plant it then thinks it is under attack and will theoretically produce more flowers the following year.
Shrubs Now is the time to carry out an autumn prune, and thin up some of your shrubs. If you have got herbaceous plants in amongst your shrubs, once you have taken your photograph you can see how the herbaceous stuff is growing into the shrub or vice-versa and you can prune accordingly, so that next year they are not so intertwined with one another and you can maximise the appeal of your plants.
Remember for spring time Don’t forget in the spring, as the herbaceous stuff starts coming up, to watch out for slugs (put pellets down), but also feed when the stuff starts moving (granular feed such as Growmore is good because it is slow releasing down to the roots and works its way up). Do not feed at this time of the year because it will encourage the plant to put on new growth that will potentially then be attacked by the frost.
If you have an upcoming event please let me know. If you have a problem in the garden then please contact me and I will do my best to answer your questions. t's been a busy time at Evesham Cats Protection - so far this year we have found new homes for 235 cats and kittens. This is quite an achievement when there are so many animals needing new homes, especially in the Evesham area. Of these cats 106 were male and 129 were female.
We are looking for one person to sell advertising in The Worcestershire Grapevine This job would suit someone who: likes talking to people is friendly and enthusiastic reasonably well-organised wants to work from home The

On average a cat will spend 40 days in our care, although this may seem a short amount of time, it is an average. It can be difficult when you see kittens come in and get a home within days when older cats may take months to find a home. Of the cats homed so far, over one third were black and white. We have a high number of black and white cats and often, due to their colour they are overlooked. Thinking of a new name can be difficult when you have exhausted all the typical ones. The most popular starting letters for cats' names are S, followed by M and B.

Its all about numbers . . . From the time a cat comes in to Cats Protection until the time it goes to a new home, the work of making sure that it gets all the treatment and care it needs, is carried out entirely by volunteers. Over the year this adds up to a grand total of over 5,000 hours of voluntarily work. I have decided to skip working out how many litter trays are washed and cleaned during this time!
them and gives them an identity, with details of their owner and home. It is important to keep the records up to date so the cats can be traced back to the owner.
With on average of 30 cats to feed on a daily basis, the number of cat food sachets used over the year is around 10,000. Where possible we use the food that is generously donated by the public in the collection bins at Tesco and Morrisons in Evesham.
As you can see there is a lot to consider when rescuing cats but we are proud at Evesham Cats Protection that we are changing lives of cats everyday.
One more number to think of is 2018. We have Cats Protection calendars and diaries on sale at the rescue - please call if you would like to buy one, to help raise funds. However stocks are limited.
To encourage neutering of cats is one of the charity's main aims, and over the year approximately ÂŁ10,000 is spent on having cats in care and owned cats, castrated or spayed.

Annual MOT for Rabbits
M
ost people think that rabbits are easy pets to look after, but actually there are numerous problems which affect rabbits. Many of these are preventable with regular checks and can be treated if noticed early. Wild rabbits are used to surviving on grass alone and don’t have the luxury of concentrate feeds. Grass is a high fibre, low calorie food which wild rabbits graze on for large parts of the day. Diets for captive rabbits should try to mimic the wild diet as much as possible to keep them healthy. All rabbits should have constant access to hay as this makes up the bulk of their required food. Rabbits should not be fed more than about one tablespoon of commercial rabbit food a day and muesli should be avoided, since rabbits will selectively feed and muesli has been linked to an increased risk of dental disease. It is much better to give about a tablespoon of pelleted food rather than muesli- style food to prevent selective feeding. You can also give a handful of some greens e.g cabbage, broccoli and kale in addition to commercial pellets. Treats should be avoided as these are bad for the teeth;
The Worcestershire Grapevine
small quantities of carrots and apples are quite acceptable. Rabbits’ teeth are constantly growing. In the wild eating grass has the effect of wearing away teeth at a constant rate and preventing dental problems. Pet rabbits can develop dental problems if not fed properly. Spurs can grow on the molars, causing ulceration in the mouth, which is painful to the rabbit and can stop them eating. If a rabbit has a painful mouth it may also stop grooming itself. A common sign of dental problems is fur matted with faeces around the back end. If this is left
unchecked and not cleaned then fly strike may develop. This is a potentially lethal condition where maggots eat away at the back end of the rabbit and is both painful and a route for infection to enter. If you suspect this please contact us as soon as possible for advice on treatment. With myxomatosis so prevalent in wild rabbits it is very important to keep up to date with vaccinations, which is also a great opportunity to have your rabbit checked over.

My car is completely demolished, but my bottle of 75 year old scotch didn't break. This must be a sign that we are 15/08/2015 13:08 meant to drink this vintage delicacy and celebrate our good fortune." Then she handed the bottle to the man. The man nodded his head in agreement, opened the bottle, drank half of it and then handed it back to the woman. WINE: If It Sparkles…
S
parkling wines add a certain ‘something’ to a dining occasion and, indeed, are extremely popular for celebrations, parties, functions and events, etc. I searched various supermarkets and located numerous, splendid, sparkling wines, including champagnes, which are chosen regularly. Waitrose supermarkets are the food retail division of the John Lewis partnership. There are many outlets, which now include some small convenience stores, too. The start was founded, during 1904, by Wallace Waite, Arthur Rose and David Taylor. Following David Taylor’s departure from the business the surnames of the remaining founders were combined to create the Waitrose name. Waitrose Prosecco (NV) Italy is a very popular, easy drinking, smooth production. This classic Italian sparkling wine is fresh and fruity for the mouthfeel and palate sensation. Chosen a lot as a great apéritif, prosecco is also loved as a spritz with soda water and mixed with various liqueurs, etc. Waitrose Cava Brut, Castillo Perelada (NV) Spain is another regular selection, for many. I find this fruity cava to have excellent quality and elegance. It is produced in partnership with Castillo Perelada, a renowned and much-respected family-owned winery in Spain that has a history dating back to the 14th century. The Worcestershire Grapevine
Waitrose Rosé Champagne (NV) has an elegance and complements many dining tables, on numerous occasions. For a fruity rosé fizz, I find this wine perfect. Produced by the House of Alexandre Bonnet, this splendid pinot noir production has a beautiful colour and is an ideal apéritif, as well as often being enjoyed with a meal. Fantastic to add colour and sparkle to al fresco dining. Waitrose Brut Special Réserve Vintage Champagne I find very much suited to the ‘top table’. This multi award winner is both full and rich, being greatly appreciated on the mouthfeel, followed by a superb and impressive palate. The long finish adds to the pleasures of this production. Waitrose, which possesses a royal warrant to supply groceries, is a retailer offering food and beverages of outstanding quality. These sparkling selections, with their fine and persistent perlages, are just some of the many available, that appeal to me. Take time and pleasure to locate your favourites. www.waitrose.com As always, Enjoy! Trevor Langley

5 Fitness Mistakes that prevent Weight Loss 1) Monday never comes Before starting on a new fitness regime/healthy eating lifestyle, so many people have all the will in the world and say to themselves “I’m going to start on Monday” – then Monday comes and you think about starting, however you haven’t put the planning or preparation in to get started. Or ‘something else’ comes up you’ve had a busy weekend, got a social event coming up and say to yourself that you’ll start after that. It’s easy to find a reason to not start, but it’s more important to find your reason why you SHOULD start you health and fitness regime – why wait until Monday when you can start TODAY? 2) You jump on every FAD diet that’s going or look for a ‘Magic Pill’ There’s so many different ‘diets’ out there for you to be tempted by that have endless promises:
48
■■ lose a stone in a week ■■ drink X to get a flatter stomach ■■ eat this to get lean Which is great IF you get those results! However, the issue being with these FAD diets are that typically it’s a low-calorie, nutrient deficient, short-term fix that is really difficult for anyone to sustain and maintain. What is important to focus on is fuelling yourself properly, depending on how much training you’re doing and what your end goal is. If you restrict yourself from so many things, then typically you will then binge-eat once the ‘diet’ is over and you’ll be back to square one in no time - in essence, wasting your time and money on said ‘diet’. If there was a ‘magic pill’ out there then everyone would be taking it – so don’t be fooled.
Results come from healthy eating, regular exercise and determination. 3) Focusing on short term goals We regularly set goals with our members, to make sure they stay focused and on track with their health and fitness goals. If you have a goal in mind, such as a holiday coming up, wedding, social event that you want to get in shape for or have more confidence then it is easy to stay motivated, however, what happens once that event comes round and you’ve reached your goal? Do you then forget about your exercise regime and go back to bad eating habits or do you focus on the next goal? You should always look beyond and what you’d like to achieve long term. It’s important to set small, achievable and attainable goals

along the way too, otherwise our motivation levels can drop and we lose focus. 4) Not using variety in training You’ve made the decision that you want to get in shape, lose weight, tone up etc. So you then decide you’ll go all out and train 5-6 times a week – doing mainly cardio based exercise, running, cycling swimming. Which is great if that’s what you enjoy, however it’s important to add variety into your training to get the BEST results.
Focus on your goals, get motivated, work hard when you’re working out because that time is YOUR time to focus on YOU and forget about life’s challenges. Be patient, persistent and consistent and you WILL get RESULTS! If you want to take part in our next Body Transformation programme or attend any of the fitness classes we offer, go to www.almfitness.co.uk for more information. Alternatively call Amy on 07740 366419 or email amy@ almfitness.co.uk
Lifting weights and doing strength based training will rapidly speed up your fat loss results and get you looking lean and toned in no time. By all means, add cardio in to your routine to mix things up a little as this will still help you get results, but don’t let one type of training be your main focus. 5) Work hard – train hard – get results So many people go to the gym, follow the routine that they were given months ago and don’t put in 100% for each workout. They may even go to an exercise class with their friend and spend most of the time ‘going through the motions’ while having a chat and a catch up, not even breaking into a sweat. If you really want results then you need to put the effort in, of course exercise/fat loss is going to be hard work, if it was easy, then everyone would do it. Likewise, you can’t out-train a bad diet. If you workout regularly but then eat a load of junk then you will never see the results you’re striving for. The Worcestershire Grapevine

Collaborating for Success
The governors and headteachers of Cherry Orchard, Inkberrow and Norton Juxta Kempsey first schools, and Pershore High School, are delighted to confirm that their schools came together on 1st August 2017 to form the Avonreach Academy Trust. Avonreach Academy Trust will strive to build, via intelligent and controlled growth, a family of schools that use effective collaboration to ensure ambitious outcomes are achieved for all our pupils, allowing them to achieve their full potential to become positive, confident and active members of tomorrow’s global society. We will maintain and enhance relationships with other multi academy trusts, individual schools, faith groups and members of our local communities to become a proactive and supportive organisation. Schools within the Trust are encouraged to develop and flourish with their own unique ethos and identities, promoting respect, responsibility and a life-long love of learning within caring, compassionate and stimulating environments. This is an exciting time and we all look forward to working together to secure a positive future for all of our young people. Solution to Wordsearch:
Tintern Cheese by Andrew Brooks
T
intern is a Welsh blended Cheddar cheese made by the Abergavenny Food Company. It is has a soft texturewith a creamy mature flavour blended with shallots and chives. Nice and tangy, this is a good choice if you like your cheese with added flavour. Typically produced in wheels of 2.25kg, it is sold in a distinctive lime green wax covering. It takes its name from the village of Tintern on the River Wye, in Monmouthshire, Wales. The monks of Tintern Abbey are said to have farmed shallots in the abbey gardens in the grounds.
Solution to Hidato:
This cheese adds great colour to any cheeseboard and a great talking point.
