QUELLENHOF RESORT LAZISE

Its location off the beaten track has Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise offer its guests magnificent 5-star rest and relaxation amongst the splendour of olive groves, cypresses, lemon trees and palms.

Medieval Lazise is Italy’s oldest (983 BC) municipality and a heavenly gem on Lake Garda in northern Italy. Its magnetism has been enhanced even more by the resort which once had its humble beginnings as a guest house. Today, as the photographs here attest to, it captures the ambience of the area architecturally with plenty of glass and open architecture. The luminaires in the lobby, bar and restaurant have a light artist feel to them reminiscent of Keith Sonnier and his kaleidoscope of neon artworks portrayed in this magazine. Even if the spa area here is not quite the size of that of the parent company (which comes in at 10,000 m2 and is unrivalled in the alpine region), it is a tad more luxurious in tune with what guests would expect from a 5-star resort.

The generous water landscapes including a natural lake to swim in mirror Lake Garda. Luxury here is a given. It begins with the in-house organic high-end cosmetics line at the spa; stretching through to the offer of e-cars including the 2020 SRF Zero electric super bike; with the journey through luxury taking guests all the way to the resort’s gourmet cuisine under the auspices of Head Chef Georg Costabiei. The exuberant creations he conjures up from Italian ingredients sourced from the area are breathtaking. As is the view from the open-air panorama restaurant with its convertible roof – just as magical as from the 21 m sky pool on the roof. Many of the suites are located directly on the natural lake. Those wanting even greater privacy can book the fantastic two-storey penthouse pool villas.

A variety of sport and recreational things to do can be found on the eleven golf courses in the area; in the capable hands of a personal trainer; by going biking or hiking; or taking a day-tripper cruise to the Isola del Garda, host to the famous Villa Borghese – which is still in the possession of the Cavazza gentry to this day.
