Available in two-hour time blocks, each party rental includes a playing surface as well as an eating/seating area to enjoy your cake! Choose from dozens of available courses or choose one of the simulated driving ranges and break-down your swing statistics. Kids can play too with games like skee-ball and miniature golf. Our batting cages are available for rent by the half hour or hour. Pitching mounds, batter’s boxes, and L-screens included with rental cost. Bats and balls are available if needed. MAIN TURF FIELD

A regulation futsal size indoor turf field, for open turf time as well as scheduled programs and leagues in sports such as futsal, soccer, badminton, lacrosse and more. Bleacher seating for nearly 200 spectators, as well as overlook seating from the lobby is available to watch the events on the field. *No Cleats on Turf

AUXILIARY TURF FIELD

This smaller version of our main turf field can host tiny soccer, bocce, aerobics/boot camp classes, among other programs, and leagues. *No Cleats on Turf

MAIN GYMNASIUM

Sanded down and completely refinished, we were able to preserve the floors from the old Greenwood Middle School gymnasium. Newly lined for four pickleball courts, one volleyball court, one full-court and two short-court basketball courts, and with seating for over 300 spectators, the options for this playing surface are plentiful.

PRACTICE COURT

This court is lined for volleyball and pickleball and includes four basketball goals that can be lowered to eight feet. Rentable for birthday parties or private lessons.

WALKING TRACK

Take a lap, or ten on our 1/10th of a mile elevated walking track! Enjoy views of the basketball courts below as you walk. Stop off on some of the pieces of stretching or fitness equipment located on the inside of the track and create your own fitness circuit workout. Walking track is included in day pass admission.

FENCING

Have you ever wanted to try your hand with a sword? Here’s your opportunity with this exciting new program. Students will learn the basics of fencing: footwork, blade work, rules and tactics, as well as participating in fun fencing games. MONTESSORI BEGINNINGS Montessori Beginnings is a Montessori playgroup for babies and toddlers from birth through two years of age with a caregiver. The group is guided by a certified Montessori teacher in a thoughtfully prepared environment designed to engage the child in discovery. In this class you will receive the basics of drawing in the first session, unless you have had prior drawing experience. After which, our instructor, Lisa Guckelberg, will mentor you through your choice of subject and medium. You may choose from the mediums of colored pencil and watercolor after you have completed the basics of drawing. CHICAGO CHRISTMAS SHOPPING Friday, Dec 1 8:00 a.m. $65 Join us on this no-hassle excursion to the Magnificent Mile -- one of the most iconic shopping areas in the world. This cosmopolitan, history-packed strip is located along Michigan Avenue and includes department stores, multi-story retail centers, luxury boutiques and brand name retail chains. Ride our deluxe motor coach and be dropped off at the famous Water Tower Place -- home of the American Girl Place and the LEGO Store. Bus leaves the Greenwood Community Center at 8:00 a.m. We should arrive at the Water Tower Place around Noon. You will have approx. SIX (6) hours of shopping time. Bus will depart Chicago at 6:00 p.m. Should arrive back at the Greenwood Community Center at 10:00 p.m.

Provided by our local Smokehouse Catering, the menu will consist of 2 pancakes, 2 sausage links, scrambled eggs, and cheesy hash brown casserole. Dog Parks Become a dog park member and let your fourlegged friends run free, find new playmates or test their agility skills on various obstacles. Dog Parks are open from dawn to dusk 365 days a year. Registration information: Annual membership is $50 per dog, per tag. ($45 for Greenwood residents) • Proof of current dog vaccinations must be provided at registration. • Owners must register their dogs at the Greenwood Community Center or Greenwood Fieldhouse

Dog Park Guidelines: • All dogs must have current membership tag. • Children under 12 are not allowed inside Dog Parks. • No more than 3 dogs per handler. • Dogs under 4 months of age are not permitted. • Owners should ALWAYS clean up after their dog. • No food or treats (human or dog) allowed in dog parks. • Dog owners are legally responsible for their dogs. PAWS FOR PARKS Created in 2019 to support Greenwood’s Parks & Recreation Department, the Greenwood Parks Foundation strives to preserve, protect and enhance public parks, green spaces and recreational programming throughout the city to improve the quality of life for all residents. Greenwood’s Parks & Recreation Department currently cares for 14 parks spanning 271 acres, more than 20 miles of linear trails and a variety of high-quality recreational facilities including Freedom Springs Aquatic Center, The Greenwod Fieldhouse, and the Greenwood Community Center, home to Kid City and The Gym. The Foundation’s goal is to help the Parks Department grow, cultivate, expand and improve its facilities and programming to provide all with access to green spaces, outdoor fun and creative programming.

You will receive a registration confirmation by e-mail if you register online. Please plan to attend your class or activity at the stated time, unless you are otherwise notified.

Checks should be made payable to Greenwood Parks & Recreation

Please indicate on your registration form if you need ADA accommodations.

Returned checks will be assessed a $5 service fee and payment must be made in full with cash

If you need additional registration forms they are available at the front counter of the Greenwood Community Center.

We reserve the right to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment.

A Greenwood city resident must have a valid driver’s license as a proof of residency in order to be charged the resident rate. All persons without proper identification will be charged the nonresident rate until residency can be established.

Greenwood Parks & Recreation Reasonable accommodations for persons with a known disabling condition will be considered in accordance with State and Federal Law. Any person needing a reasonable accommodation should notify the Department when registering for a program or at least 72 hours prior to a special event or activity.

Refund Policy 1.

Full Refunds will be made upon cancellation of a class or activity by the Parks & Recreation Department

2.

No refunds will be given after the class/ program or event begins. The only exception is an injury, which prohibits participation in the class/program. The refund is subject to prorating and must be claimed before the end of the program.

3.

Rental cancellations (for any reason including weather) must be made a minimum of 10 business days in advance to receive a refund of the rental fee. Cancellations shall be assessed a $10 or 15% Administration Fee for processing.

4.

All refunds will be issued through the city claim process that takes approximately 1-2 weeks.

Please register in person to join a session that has already started.

Register Early! Most programs have limited space available as well as registration deadlines. After the registration deadline please call for space availability.

Inclement Weather Policy

If Greenwood Community Schools close due to inclement weather, Before/After School will not be held. If schools are on a two-hour delay Before School will still be held and buses will pick up children from the Greenwood Fieldhouse at the appropriate time. If the Mayor declares a snow emergency, all Parks & Recreation facilities and programs will be closed or canceled. Any other weatherrelated cancellations or delays will be posted on Facebook and our Greenwood Parks & Recreation App.

Planning an Event? An event notification is required for any special event, race, run or walk on or within any city park or trail. If you are planning a special event please submit an Event Notification here: greenwoodin.citysourced.com/servicerequests/ create Any and all special events will go before the Park Board for approval.
