EDITOR S L E T T E R Summer is about to end and one thing is for sure, we cannot wait for the fall to come. The main inspiration for this issue is witches and witchcraft in general. With this specific theme we wanted to present it in an unexpected way and for that reason we created a narrative around good and evil. One can say that is a predicament, that a witch ought to chose to be a good or an evil one. Proportions, layering and a mixture of materials are the main trends we are focusing on. For the design section we wanted to carry our theme through the classic direction of magic. We chose old objects that have been embellished and reworked with traditional materials that manage to transform into something new. The art section focuses on Yoko Onoâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s exhibition in Copenhagen and to the Summer Saloon Show at Isnot gallery.

AWA KE N I N G The time that a witch realizes of her ‘gift’ and the awakening of her powers is what we were eager transmit in this editorial. The transition of a witch’s purity into darkness, the story is based on this process of what she is going through. Layering and transitional pieces is our focus. Jackets and shorts, sheer and cropped are the pieces we need in this transition period. We chose Stavri’s Frangou fall collection featuring neoprene and felt jackets and winter white tops with crafty patterns and motives resulting out of a dark inspiration could not be more fitting for our story.

For our male editorial we wanted to create a softer mood, magic has something organic and primary connected to nature. The contrast between architecture and nature is what modernizes the scenery. The element of abandonment and the way nature takes over to what is Â left by us is an incredible sentiment. Since transition is our primal focus, we combined proportions and layers, such as oversized tops and statement sweaters mixed with unexpected statement accessories.

The finally of this story is when the darkness actually wins the light. The transformation of something good into pure darkness. The evil influence is there to collect their vessel, following her every move, leading her to her destiny. Â The transformation emerges and exposes her true self. Like a flower, her powers emerge and blossom while exposing her true colors. CON TEM P O R I Z E T R A D I T I O N A L C R A F T S M A N S H I P ‘Contemporize Traditional Craftsmanship’ is a project created by Katerina Stavrinou Moleski. Main highlight of the project is the relationship between traditional craftsmanship in Cyprus and knitting techniques with natural materials. Influenced by the global instability and an economic crisis stretching further than the obvious financial environment in Cyprus, the need to focus on forgotten values and material, was apparent to artist. The techniques being used on this old furniture symbolizes the designer’s effort to recreate the past with optimism for the future. Furnishings can be viewed not just as pieces of art but also as pieces of furniture in a space.

Small Worldâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s principal studio makes, breaks and creates collections for both fashion photography, catwalk and retail. With the studio running along side its quirky commercial outlet Small World brings a little bit of something unique to the main stream. Focusing on non-commercial fashion collections and translating this into more wearable just as unusual commercial pieces our aim is to bring a little bit of one off design goodness to as many people as possible. -

With absolute summer mood, IsNotGallery organizes a group exhibition called «Summer Saloon Show». Choosing unique works made by Cypriot and foreign artists in style according to the options and the established artistic course the last years. In this exhibition, IsNotGallery decides to move aside from the philosophical and conceptual questions for a bit and having as main target the aesthetic result of the presented works.
