A Letter From the Camp Director
Hello adventurers! My name is Emmi in the common world and Turtle in the magical world of camp. My camp name Turtle is inspired by my collection of turtle stuffed animals and figurines big enough to fill a bathtub! I attended Girl Scout Camp for the first time when I was nine years old and fell in love immediately. After my first year, I was hooked and attended camp every year until I grew out of my camper shoes and became a camp counselor. Even when I wasn’t at camp, I always found myself on outdoor adventures. I have a bachelor’s degree in Theatre and Psychology and have loved working with foster organizations and children with special needs for the past several years. Currently, I share my magic with the world through poems, stories, goofy smiles, and awkward dancing. I love singing songs with my Girl Scout sisters, especially favorites like “The Day I Went to Sea” and “Daisies in the Sun.” Hobo packs and dough boys are my go-to campfire foods. My favorite color is every shade of yellow and my favorite part of nature is the stars. I also really enjoy friendship bracelets, hugs, and high ropes adventures. “Magic is believing in yourself. If you can do that, you can make anything happen.”
