Patch Programs

Troops can plan their own outdoor getaways for a day, overnight, or weekend at one of our program centers or any approved non-GSMH site. When they go troop camping and decide the trails they want to trek—they take ownership of their outdoor skills!

Here’s what you need to know before your troop camping adventure:

• A camping experience of less than one week in duration that takes place within GSMH boundaries is considered troop camping. • Overnight camping at a GSMH Program

Center requires at least one official adult volunteer per unit that is certified in GSMH outdoor level 2 training.

Another adult volunteer must be certified in CPR and First Aid. • Troops must obtain approval from

GSMH before camping on non-GSMH sites, except for overnight backyard camping. Backyard camping does not require approval. Troops can use the

Outdoor Experiences on Request to add even more adventure to their camping experience at any of our four program centers.

Reserving Program Centers

Girl Scout members are invited to reserve our program centers for free! To reserve our program centers, visit our website and fill out the Program Center Reservation Form. Reservations are currently available for day and overnight use. Confirmations will be sent to the troop after a reservation is complete.

Outdoor Experiences on Request

Outdoor Experiences on Request are outdoor programs that can be customized to meet the needs of your troop or group! Each program includes a basic skill introduction and are facilitated by GSMHpaid Outdoor Experience Facilitators. When you reserve a program center for troop use, let us know what activities you are interested in. We will contact you to plan an outdoor experience on request.
