Have you downloaded the Troop Year Plan for your troop? If not, embark on a well-rounded year by downloading it now. Once you download a copy of the Troop Year Plan for your Girl Scout level, you have a framework for an amazing year of fun, friendship, and new adventures. At GS-NCCP we took it one step farther and put together a list of volunteer resources for Daisy, Brownie, and Junior coleaders that can help you bring the troop year plan to life. Check it out by downloading a copy of your troop level’s resources.

If you are leading Girl Scout Daisies on their second year of adventures, then you’re following the Daisy Year Plan for Year 2. During year two Daisies can learn about how our government works at the local, state, and national levels while earning their Democracy badge. At our Voter Girl event on February 1, 2025, Girl Scouts will complete their age level Democracy badge while interacting the Wake County League of Women Voters and other phenomenal role models. Let us lead this badge for you by saving your troop’s space at the event. Register today!

In the Program Corner, you’ll find exciting opportunities each month, including our Year 1 and Year 2 Mobile Program, which brings badge-earning activities right to your troop meetings. Plus, don’t miss our featured Patch of the Month, resources to help you lead badges with ease, and event highlights designed to support your troop's growth and fun.

Mobile:

Each month we will provide more knowledge about the exciting programs offered through Honor, our Year 1 and Year 2 mobile program support vehicle. Did you know that you can have our Mobile Program come to your troop meeting to aid in supporting you and your Girl Scouts in taking steps to earn badges in your Troop Year plan?

Our Mobile Staff will come and join you to lead your troop meeting and assist you in ways that you can continue to connect to the program. Interested in scheduling a mobile visit? Complete our online interest form and select Year 1 and Year 2 troop.

The Make Every Dance Step Count Patch program is set up so that Girl Scouts can explore the world of dance through movement. Download and get moving with December’s patch of the month.

January Patch of the Month

From the arts to the sciences, African Americans have played a prominent role in contributing to America’s rich culture and development in the modern world. Black History Month patch program helps Girl Scouts learn more about African American history, culture, and notable contributions.

January Patch of the Month is the Thrive Challenge. The Thrive Challenge offers Girl Scouts an opportunity to learn about different people, cultures, customs, and more Girls can complete the challenge on their own (supported by their family) or troops can participate together. Simply take on at least two challenge ideas per letter (T.H.R.I.V.E.) to complete the Thrive Challenge. Click here for the Thrive Challenge.

Troop Year Plan this February? We’ve got just the resource for you! With the Courageous and Strong Badge Helper, Girl Scout Daisies learn about people who are courageous and strong and find out how to become one too. The Badge Helper offers resources and support for facilitating the badge from start to finish. Everything from a uniquely crafted Girl Scout workbook and activity list to the exact supplies and quantities you’ll need to purchase. As we near the end of the year, you may find yourself with an extra hour here and there an ideal time to complete your onboarding training. Camp Is coming!

Arriving in your mailbox in January will be our 2025 Summer Fun Guide, where our Girl Scouts will be full of “Big Dreams, Big Possibilities” . Our Summer Camp overnight programming is open to all girls (both Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts) who are rising 1st Grade through rising 12th Grade. Campers will get to live and be in a community where they get to try new skills, like archery, boating, and climbing the Alpine Tower, work with other Girl Scouts to make decisions and plan their week and be in a safe and supportive environment that our staff work to create. Girl Scout Traditions

On Saturday, February 22, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from around the world will celebrate “World Thinking Day.” This Girl Scout tradition started in 1926 and is a time for Girl Scouts and Girl Guides to celebrate our worldwide sisterhood. Each year has a different theme to aid in guiding the conversation and activities for your troop to learn more about this tradition. You can find information about World Thinking Day in Year Plans in the Volunteer Toolkit, at GSUSA’s website, or by attending a World Thinking Day Event - either GS-NCCP Sponsored (see upcoming events) or a local area event.

Annual World Thinking Day Event

Join us at Camp Mary Atkinson on Saturday, February 22, 2025, for our Annual World Thinking Day events. We will celebrate our Global Girl Scout Movement, work on the World Thinking Day Patch, while focusing on this year’s theme of “Our Story: Reflecting the symbolism and values of our Movement”.This event is planned by our World Thinking Day Crew- a group of teen Girl Scouts who plan and facilitate activities so participants can enjoy this Girl Scout Tradition. Registration is now open!

The New Leaders on the Block (NLOTB) Spotlight Series is part of our council’s NLOTB troop mentor program, and it is designed for new(er) troop co-leaders, although all volunteers – new or seasoned are welcome! The NLOTB Spotlight Series features relevant Girl Scout topics monthly, accompanied by fresh resources shared on each call. Get ready to shine as a Girl Scout Troop Co-Leader with the New Leaders on the Block Spotlight Series!

1/18: The Cookie Sale officially begins at 9 AM, and troop-secured booths can kick off. Be sure your troop's Digital Cookie site is set up and published by early morning to prepare for the big day!

2/1: Council-sponsored cookie booths begin

2/21: Troop's initial payment is drafted from troop bank accounts

3/9:Last day of the cookie sale
