Badge Day at the ZMA: Pottery Extravaganza!

Girl Scouts are invited to create several clay projects inspired by the ZMA’s extensive pottery collection and complete steps to earn badges. Spend an exciting afternoon at the Zanesville Museum of Art and discover the rich pottery history of Ohio. Activities fulfil several requirements for the Girl Scouts Brownie Potter Badge. Projects that require firing will be available to pick up by October 14, 2023. The activities are based on the Brownie Painting badge, but all ages are welcome. Brownies and younger must be accompanied by a parent or troop leader.

Let’s Dance! Brownie Badge Workshop  

Twirl into the dance studio for an active afternoon with the Columbus Modern Dance Company. Move like your favorite animal, explore shapes and patterns with your body, and learn dance steps from the pros. You will perform your own choreography for your friends and family to complete. Badge not included.

Twilight Paper Lanterns

Make your own lantern and stroll through the Japanese Garden! Girls will choose a paper color to construct a cylindrical lantern. They will then take a stroll through the Japanese Garden while admiring the glow.

Fall Troop Core Camp 

Troop Core Camp is a fun and easy way for troops to enjoy the outdoors. Your troop provides the adult supervision, and we provide the rest - program facilitators, song leaders, activity materials, meals, and a whole lot of fun! Try a variety of offered activities. Troop Camp Certification is not required. Adults spending the night must be registered Girl Scout volunteers with a completed background check.

Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies are cordially invited to a Fairytale Ball just for Girl Scouts! Arrive in your favorite royal attire and dance to the music. Take your photo in the photo booth, grab a light snack, and complete fun activities like making your own wand, building your own castle, and more! A fun patch is included.

Identify a problem you have noticed in your daily life and work creatively on a way to solve it! Join other Brownie Girl Scouts in creating a product or business that solves a problem in your community. Spend the day working on your own and with others to create a prototype and pitch your new business idea all while earning your Budding Entrepreneur badge!

Happy Trails 

Girls will trek their way to earning the Hiker badge at Alley Park. They will practice making trail signs in the nature center using snack foods, then pack a trail mix snack up to take along on a hike. They will examine a map of the trails and determine their path as they make their own trail signs along the way utilizing natural materials. They will also choose and decorate a walking stick for future hikes!

Brownie Outdoor Badge Day  

Calling all Brownies! Earn three badges while you become a skilled camper! Join us at Camp KenJockety for a day-long badge earning event where you’ll earn the First Aid and Hiker badges and be just one step away from earning your Cabin Camper Badge! This will bring you very close to completing your Outdoor Journey requirements. You’ll learn how to plan your camping trip and essential camping skills like how to start a fire, leave no trace principals, and outdoor cooking basics. You’ll even get to cook your own lunch and a snack outside! Participants will leave this program with all three badges they earn.

Girl Scouts on the Water Kayaking Day for Brownies with Pea Ohana Watersports

Join us for a day on the water for Girls Scouts and their families with Pea Ohana Watersports. Learn about water safety and paddling techniques and get ready to kayak! Brownies can learn the basics of kayaking and learn about the local water ways through creeking and conservation activities with an ODNR naturalist. Bring a packed lunch for a picnic and make a day of it! This program takes place in Zanesville, Ohio. Fee includes kayak rental and instruction.
