ethods of application differs with every university, hence it’s important for you to use the correct platform when applying for the university of your choice.
Private Universities The first method for you to apply to a private university is by direct application. You need to make sure the application date of your preferred intake. Typically, private universities will have more than one intake per year. Choose the intake you wish to apply to and make sure you pass the entry requirements before submitting your application.
Public Universities Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), University of Malaya (UM) are some examples of public universities that you might have been eyeing on for a while now. UPU is the way into these public universities that processes your applications. Similar to direct application, you need to keep yourself updated on the opening and closing dates of application. The dates differ every year but is typically after SPM results.

Buy a unique number ID from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN). Use your pin number to register on the UPU website (upu.moe.gov.my/web) Check for the course requirements. Make sure you qualify for the particular course(s) that you’re applying for. Fill in your personal details in the application form provided. Choose your preferred course(s). As an SPM leaver, you can choose up to eight universities and eight courses. Double-check your filled-in form. Make sure it is error free. Submit your application and print a copy. And finally, wait for your offer letter!
