How We Are Keeping Our Employees Safe Employee safety is our number one priority. This is why GR Tech has made it possible for our employees to work remote until it is safe to return to the office. We understand that this past year has impacted everyone in different ways and that people have had to change the way that they work, manage their time and adjust to new routines and schedules. It is important that we recognize the human factor of business by making it easier for our teams to work remotely and allowing flexible work hours so that our teams can deliver on business outcomes while managing new and evolving personal life commitments.

Supporting Our Teams We are fortunate that our employees have been able to seamlessly transition to remote working and continue to be impactful in their work. We support remote working efforts by offering employees an annual stipend to be used for essential work from home equipment. Management is always working on ways to keep remote working efficient and effective and will continue to work with their teams to ensure that they feel supported and safe.

Keeping Our Teams Connected Even though we are all remote, we want our teams to feel connected and still have that feeling of working together. We have found different ways to keep our GR Tech Culture alive while everyone is staying safe. Some of what we have done is:
Virtual Activities: We have organized multiple virtual events that help keep our teams connected in a fun and energetic way. Some of the events that we have done have included happy hours, game nights and workout and cooking classes.
Sharing is Caring: Our teams are full of talented people and they are always looking at ways to share their talents, whether it’s through cooking, baking, photography, gardening…the talents are endless. Our teams have created channels in our slack community to share their hobbies with their teammates. From food and cocktails recipes, home DIY projects, to gardening tips and bee keeping tricks. Anything that you can think of—our teams have shared and come together to bond over their hobbies and talents.

Keeping Each Other Motivated: It is important that our teams feel motivated during all of the chaos. We have created what we call the High-Five Program which allows teams to give a “high-five” to their peers and recognize them for a job well done. With no need to have a Clojure background to participate, this program is designed to be challenging. However, when you’re done we guarantee you’ll walk away mastering the practice. 22

What should I expect during the recruitment process? You can expect to connect with a recruiter who will walk you through the opportunity and GR Tech. The recruiting process (depending on scheduling) can be a pretty quick turn around time, so you should be informed of next steps/feedback within 24-48 hours.
Interviewing at Guaranteed Rate Tech What does the interview process look like? The interview process varies depending on the role. After you speak with a recruiter and are found to be qualified for the role, we will put you into the interview process. For software engineers, you will have a technical interview with one of our software engineers, complete a homework assignment and then be invited to an onsite interview. These are now hosted virtually on GoToMeeting. For non-engineering roles, you will typically do a phone interview, and then move forward to the onsite interview process (again, this will be hosted on GoToMeeting for now). After each step in the interview process, we guarantee feedback within 24-48 hours.
How do I prepare for an interview? Be prepared to speak in detail of your technical background. We are looking for people who can speak to their work, and people who exemplify GR’s core values!
