The dialogue between structure, construction, environment, context, space, assembly and external form generates relationships which are singular to any building project. This course offers you the opportunity to communicate your appreciation and understanding of how these relationships are integrated through your appraisal and description of a building with which you have become familiar during the placement period. [Year 4 Semester 1]

Architectural Design: Any Place Public Library, Rome Develop the design of your library on a specified urban site. Design a building that responds to the patterns of movements and environmental phenomena that cut across its site, and to the dynamic character of the programme it accommodates. [Year 2 Semester 2]
Architectural Design: Explorations Fill, Flow, Track: An Architecture of Erosion Based on the Isle of Rum I created a series of instruments to record a survey of factors affecting erosion at selected test sites on the Island. This gave rise to a language of forms and processes that informs the design proposal of an erosion testing centre. The language then informs a design proposal facilitating a program of material erosion studies. [Year 3 Semester 1]
Architectural Design: Tectonics Civic Fabrications | Acting Up Prologue | Casting Call Re-interpreting ‘Town Castle Kr’ by Paul Klee, the regularised patterns of New York were distorted through folding and refraction. This gave rise to tectonic themes of: movement, pattern, distortion, colour, and fold. [Year 4 Semester 2]
Architectural Design: Tectonics Civic Fabrications | Acting Up Dramatisation | Further Education College Using the folding patterns established in casting call a landscape is defined. From this undulating surface the further education college unfolds. Cross laminated timber panels allow a continuous geometry, creating a monolithic form, and establishing a strong civic presence. This is punctured by large openings, allowing glimpses to the performing arts college within. [Year 4 Semester 2]
