President John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Manroe
Rumors had it THEY HAD AN AFFAIR?!?! OMGGGGG
They did not have any long relationship to qualify as a full affair. However there are rumors that they were together. On March 24, 1962 JFK and Monroe were both guests at Bing Crosby’s house in Palm Springs. The next and last time Marilyn Monroe crossed paths with JFK was at Kennedy's 45th birthday party at Madison Square Garden. The knowledge that Monroe and JFK had already had a one-night stand by this point makes the sensuality she brought to her performance of Happy Birthday, Mr. President even more touching.
Fashion
Bags Regular bags with short handles. The women always matched their purse with their shoes.
Tops Women wore high neck button up blouses, Chunky knit sweater, and pullover turtleneck tops.
Dresses They usually wore shapeless shifts usually with drop waists and contracting collar and button colors.
Colors Bright color matched the pop art that was popular at the time. Orange, Yellows, Blue, Green and Purple was very popular. Pastels were also a very popular type of color. Shoes They wore low heel and flat shoes of all sort. Everyone owned a pair of of low booties in silver, brown of white.
Tights
Pants Women wore slim fitting pants. High waisted with a tapered ankle was also very popular.
Funky tights and pantyhose were very popular. Tall knee socks always covered bare legs. Textured tights were even more popular.
a t Wan ? e t bi Desserts in Gelatin Jell-o was also very popular in the 1960’s. New desserts and salads were constantly covered in Jell-o and served at parties.
Meatballs and Grape Jelly Meatballs covered in sauces were constantly served with grape jelly around them. The iconic Swedish meatballs became very popular in the 60’ s. Ambrosia Salad This dessert like fruit salad was a big hit during the 60’s. The salad contained pineapple, mandarin oranges, marshmallows, with coconut. It had a creamy sauce made of whipped cream, yogurt, and sour cream.
Beef bourguignon This meal first appeared on a TV show in 1963. It is a slow cooked beef recipe that can be added with mushrooms and beans.
Deviled Eggs A popular dish eaten that found itself topped with caviar and other items.
Fondue A hit at parties and dinners. Many different snacking foods were served on a dish with either chocolate, cheese, or oil in the fondue pot.
Onion Dip A quick and esay one was with Lipton union soup mix. It can then be easily mixed with sour cream and then dipped in by chips or crackers.

Sports During the 1960’s, sports were becoming popular in many different places and different sports. But, the biggest event was- The first NFL Super Bowl. At the time, it was not realized that football was on its way to be one of America’s most popular sports.
This is a picture of the Green Bay Packers; the champions of the first Super Bowl.
The Boston Celtics were the only team that mattered in the NBA. They won 9 out of 10 championships during the 60’ s thanks to Wilt Chamberlin.
In the early 60’s, the Yankees dominated the first seasons. After 1967, the Yankees kind of faded away.
