Fashion Fashion over the past few centuries has evolved immensely over time. Much new clothing, jewelry, and footwear have been invented and worn. In the 90s the style was overalls with straps down whether it was one or two straps. Sometimes no undershirt was worn. Many people were interested in roller blades. Roller blades were in style before skateboards were at its prime. People wore parasuco jeans. These were very popular jeans worn in the 90s which some people may still wear in present time. Bleached hair was especially common in the 90’s. Many jocks and band players bleached their hair. Footwear that was very common were roos. They were very popular shoes mostly worn by teenager or young adults. Finally terry cloth wristbands and headbands were used in the 90s. They were used when exercising or working out. The fashion in the 90s was quite unique and still remembered today.
Domestic Affairs
Issues and affairs that the US dealt with within borders were plentiful and had a major impact on the society. A major accomplishment in the 90s was that there was the most diverse cabinet in American history. These were prosperous years leading into the 2,000s and many new traditions and cultures were adopted in the U.S. The economic conditions better with the Gross Domestic Product growth boosted and the number of jobs created set a record that was surpassed in 2015. Protests and movements were common as well. The Third-wave Feminism, Record number of women are elected to high office in the US. Many challenges and obstacles were encountered like the Cyclone caused 26 deaths and millions of dollars to repair damage. Also the Great Flood of 1993 caused damage and was a setback.
Domestic Affairs II The obstacles also included Hurricane Andrew in Florida and Louisiana, the heat wave in 1995, Red River Flood in North Dakota, Minnesota, Southern Manitoba was devastating. New laws and regulations were made in this time. President Clinton made stricter laws which dealt with violence. He banned various assault weapons and made weapons more difficult to get. The Welfare Reform Bill of 1996 issued deep cuts to be made in the amount of welfare grants and welfare recipients. It required people on welfare to find employment and restricted benefits for all immigrants whether legal or illegal. The Affirmative Action followed with higher education was prohibited and minority students were declined. In conclusion, these were prosperous times with many obstacles and milestones.
Foreign Affairs
One can say the the 90’s were a successful era which lead to international progression. In Germany, west and east Germany were reunited after the collapse of the S.U. The U.S citizens were not so fearful of the spread of communism. President Bill Clinton became the president of the U.S.Bill Clinton accomplished many things overseas such as: Clinton withdrew all U.S. troops from Somalia that Bush had previously deployed. Clinton was heavily criticized for not sending troops to Rwanda after a mass genocide took place. Russia was successfully persuaded to withdraw troops from the Baltic Sea.
Foreign Affairs II
Clinton also heavily criticized Bush, the previous president, for not placing economic sanctions on China for their many human rights violations. CLinton then did something very hypocritical, he strengthened economic ties with China. Clinton also made progress in getting Palestine freedom from Israel, after the leader of Israel was assassinated.

THE GOLDEN AGE OF HIP HOP The legends and their legacies... Many will agree that this past decade was the defining age of Hip Hop and R&B. From the beefs to the record labels to the lowriders, music was forever changed. Let us remember the artists and the experiences‌ N.W.A. Born back in ‘88, N.W.A. was the group that invented Gangsta Rap. They released many great albums and singles, such as Straight Outta Compton, and Express Yourself. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances in the record deal, the group split and started to release a series of albums dissing each other. Dr. Dre, Eazy E, and Ice Cube all started throwing shots at each other.
Ice Cube Ice Cube left the group N.W.A. to start his own group, The Lench Mob. He created a number of very popular tracks, such as It Was a Good Day and Check Yourself. He did fight a lot with Eazy E and they even got into a fist fight once.
R.I.P Eazy Eric Wright, or Eazy E, was the rapper who started N.W.A. When he passed away back in ‘95, the whole group came together to resolve their differences and mourn their fallen brother.
Dr. Dre Dr Dre, another rapper from N.W.A., started his own record label and sought out to create many tracks that have become legendary in today’s time. Back in 1992, he released his studio album, “The Chronic”, alongside Snoop Dogg, by Death Row Records. Than, last year in 1999, he released the album “2001,” also alongside Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg. During this time, he also signed Eminem.
Snoop Dogg Snoop Dogg is a fairly new artist, who has been noted to work with Dr. Dre. He first rose to fame when he was featured on multiple tracks on Dr Dre’s debut album, “The Chronic.” He also introduced many new artists with his rise to fame, such as Nate Dogg. Snoop also released his own debut album “*****style”, in 1993, and afterwards he released “Tha Doggfather.” Snoop Dogg actually entered the rap scene under the name Snoop Doggy Dogg, but later changed it.
REMEMBERING THE FALLEN ONES: Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Eazy E
A rising pop scene... Many new pop songs were released this last decade. Artists such as Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston rose to fame. Here are a few of many hit singles that came out that defined pop for generations to come.
Culture
The nineties was a time period of innovation and discovery. Many new things such as fashion film and music changed from previous years. Genres got more diverse and controversial. Government/Politics
President Bush faced many problems during his presidency which he lost the loyalty of many republicans by not cutting taxes. Bush decided to raise taxes and his republican followers were lost. In 1990, a major desert storm attack took place in Iraq. The world was against the invasion and the U.S. and Saudi Arabia came to destroy the Iraqi forces. They ceased fire which led to a major controversy. This also caused leading problems in the 2000s. During this time, the World Trade center was bombed in 93. Terrorists parked a truck full of explosives in a parking garage under the world trade center to knock over the two buildings. The plot was not as successful as planned when the first tower did not fall over. Although the explosion only killed six people it injured thousands and destroyed the underground side of the world trade center. This was a major setback in US history.
The Way We Lived
In the 90s, economy boomed quickly. Many people were interested in bookstores so they can study. Many people enjoyed bookstores and nowadays bookstores are very popular with cafe’s. Also CD players were very popular in the 90’s. The computer and an improvement of the tv were invented which allowed social involvement. Many people were interested in television shows and this allowed the TV companies to gain much revenue. These technological advances lead to fantastic new onventions in later years.

These films utilised an effect called C.G.I. this is a way to render a background without actually being there or create effects that would otherwise be impossible with practical effects.

Law and Justice
Early in the 1990s, Congress again passed Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990, the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act of 1990, and the Civil Rights Act of 1991. These major acts and laws passed in the 90s were a major effect in the society. The Act of 1990 was a major immigration act. It increased total, overall immigration to allow 700,000 immigrants to come to the U.S. per year. It provided family based immigration visa, created five distinct employment based visas, categorized by occupation, as well as the diversity visa program which admitted immigrants from their countries. The Older Workers Benefit Act of 1990 is a discrimination law. It prohibits employers from denying employee benefits to older workers based on age. The Civil Rights Act of 1991 limits the rights of employees who had sued their employers for discrimination. A major milestone for African Americans to have the rights that they deserved. These were major laws passed in the 90s and had a major impact on the future society.
Sports:
Cycling: Lance Armstrong took home a big win in 1999, after he won first place in the Tour De France.
Basketball: Arguably the NBA’s greatest player, Michael Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six titles in the 90’s.
Soccer: Denmark beats Germany in 1992 EuroCup. This result shocked the world. It was a very unexpected win.
Boxing: In round 3 of Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield, Mike bit off a piece of Evander’s ear. This was a very controversial boxing moment.
Food
Education:
In the 90s many new innovations made it easier to be educated. Some thing are the same things like student loans and debt were still problems that student had to deal with. Modern technologies such as computers and cellphones were not accessible to the average student in the 90s. Instead the would have to use things like fax, photocopy, the library, and encyclopedias.
Book Review
A popular book written in the 90s was Harry Potter, the first three books were in the 90s. They were written by J.K Rowling in a small cafe and when published, they were a bit hit in the 90s. They were so popular that J.K. Rowling continued her series of the novels. The book was about a young boy named Harry who lived with his relatives since birth for his parents were murdered by Lord Voldemort. Harry discovers at the age of 12 that he is a wizard and must learn at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Harry encounters many obstacles and overcomes them with his indomitable spirit, bravery, and intelligence.
Celebrity Gossip
Tonya Harding vs Nancy Kerrigan. Back in 1994, the champion figure skater Tonya Harding was in fierce competition with Nancy Kerrigan, another champion figure skater. Before the championship game, Tonya Harding was stabbed by a hitman and was injured to the point where she could not compete. Upon further investigation, it was found out that the hitman was hired by Nancy Kerrigan.
