Congratulations on successfully completing the Georgetown University School of Medicine Interview Day! We provided you with a lot of information throughout the day and we hope this will be helpful as you make your final decision! In the meantime, here are some items to add to your to-do list. THANK YOU NOTES: Submit your thank you notes through the secondary application portal so that it can be included in your application file and available to your interviewer and the Committee on Admissions. Since there is only one upload, combine your thank you notes into one document before you upload it. INTERVIEW DAY FEEDBACK SURVEY: We are continuously looking for ways to improve the Interview Day experience and we would appreciate your feedback!

WAITLIST If you are not offered an accept, this usually means that the Committee - while impressed - would like a second opportunity to review your application. Please note that priority is usually given to applicants who have submitted at least one letter of intent. For more information regarding letters of intent, please proceed to the following page.

REJECT If you are not offered an accept or a spot on the waitlist after a thorough review of your application and interview evaluation, you may reapply the following year. We suggest conducting a self-analysis, comparing your metrics with those of the entering class. Also, consider seeking out more clinical, research, and service opportunities, as your new file should reflect new experiences.
Letters of Intent By Donna Sullivan Assistant Director of Admission
If the Committee's decision places you on the waitlist and you are still interested in Georgetown University School of Medicine, write a letter to the Committee explaining "why" you are interested in Georgetown, and in what ways you will contribute to the community. This will be the first of five (5) total letters you may submit directly to the committee starting after you receive a decision and ending at the start of Fall Orientation when the class is permanently filled. Since most of the waitlist movement occurs between mid-April and the end of May, we advise you to space out the remaining letters of interest by sending one in the beginning of April, another in May, then at the beginning of June, and -if still not accepted - one at the end of June. At this phase in the application process, the Committee is not interested in additional letters of recommendation; they would prefer to hear more from you about your experiences and your motivation for choosing Georgetown. However, we recognize that you may have people who would still like to write on your behalf. ALL letters of recommendation must be submitted through AMCAS, so the deadline for submission is the day that the AMCAS application switches to the new cycle. NOMADIC
