4 Letter from the Presiden Hey Gators, With October, one of the busiest months of the year, behind us, November is here! I hope everybody had a marvelous first quarter of the school year. For me, and many other seniors I'm sure, the fall season is the busiest, and a bit wacky! But even in the midst of all the chaos that may have been going on, service never stops, and I'd like to thank all of you for joining us in serving our home, school, and community. One of the biggest changes our club has made in this mid-year time is that our main supporting service project has shifted from Children's Miracle Network to The Eliminate Project. It is mind-blowing how much $1.80 can do: save the connection between a mother and a child. Two dollar-menu foods save one such bond. A tall Starbucks coffee saves two connections. Can you believe that? It is so unfortunate and heartbreaking that a PREVENTABLE disease is still breaking the bonds among a family. This must be stopped. And I find it much meaningful that our very own Green Valley Key Club is altogether contributing to this cause. I presented about this grand project to you at our meeting on October 8th, but if you'd like to find out more, feel free to check out the website and explore. Remember that one interclub service event we had over the summer with Del Sol? Well, our interclub level just got bigger--this time, it's with Del Sol, SECTA, and Silverado. And it's not just a service event (admission fee for every Key Clubber is $5 or 5 canned foods for Thanksgiving donations)--there's a spirit rally this time, with a spirit stick for the grand winner! This is big, Gators! As promised, I'm bringing Region Training Conference to you, and the FALL FUNCTION on November 15th is the spirit rally part of it. This time, we'll really show all those other clubs how Gators do it! More information is to be announced so stay tuned! Oh, the excitement is real! Are you as excited as I am? I bet you are! :) Looking forward to another great month of service, signing out is your club president. Ji Eun Bae GVKC President 2013-2014
nt From the board members: We love you Ji Eun!!! Thank you for being the best president ever, and for making our key club experience fun and organized. It is your senior year so we might not see you after this term but we will definitely miss you, all the laughs, and all the memories. Thank you!!!
From the Bulletin Editor (Zarina Aure): Dear Ji, thank you for teaching me how to be a great bulletin editor. You’ve made this term amazing not just for me, but for everyone! I absolutely love all our memories and the random cheesy jokes you crack and your ‘laughing every second’ type of attitude. You brighten up our meetings all the time and you made it very organized and just great! Being a board member is stressful but you’ve done such an amazing job being one. I can honestly say that you deserve so much credit for being able to put up with our craziness. Not only I, but everyone else will miss you very much after you graduate! Thank you for being amazing and we love you!!!
6 Old Business GVHS Homecoming Booth
Tyler Dancel(GVKC Treasurer): I was officer-in-charge for the homecoming booth and I managed the sign up sheet and the money, ofcourse. I had fun serving root beer floats to my friends and working with my fellow key clubbers! We ran out of supplies at one point so I got more from the school, then after the event, I helped clean up. It was very organized and everyone did a great job setting up, serving, and cleaning after. It was a great way to start my homecoming weekend!
################## Last RTC Prep #####
Erica Duarte(GVKC Member): The last RTC prep was fun because we made really cool gator visors and practiced some cheers. I couldn’t go to RTC but helping them make the supplies and practicing for their spirit cheers was still fun especially because everyone was very spirited and dedicated to create a big, loud cheer! I helped out with the visors by attaching the gator teeth so it would look like a gator mouth when worn. This service was great and I would definitely help out again!

#############
Ji Eun Bae(GVKC President): My fourth and senior year RTC was a blast! Although I couldn't attend the spirit competition because it was scheduled differently this year and I was despondent about that, meeting Key Clubbers from other schools and bonding with Key Clubbers from my home club made up for it. And I was happy to hear that we made it past Round 1 of the spirit rally, which was my hope and wish at this year's RTC. Round 1 was judged by how spirited we were throughout the day until about 4:30 PM. I screamed and shouted as loud as I could all throughout the morning, lunch, and afternoon, and it was all worth it. I can't believe we made it past Round 1 because that has never happened before! My voice is kind of hoarse because of RTC even days after the event, but it was, like I mentioned before, so worth it!
ence ################################ ################################ ################################ ############################
Zarina Aure(GVKC Bulletin Editor): This was my first year in RTC and it was the best event I have ever been to! I had so much fun in the bulletin editor station when all of my fellow editors and I shared our ideas and had so much fun! I met so many people this year and saw my friends from other schools. I volunteered many times to go up and speak my mind ! The spirit battles were my favorite because I love competing on who’s louder and which cheers are better. I also loved seeing all the other school’s cheers! We also had a service where we made double blankets which I loved doing and hopefully we will have more events like that again. RTC is my favorite event so far and I will go every year, that’s a promise! RTC showed me how much spirit and love key club really has., which is one of the million reasons why key club will always be my second family♥
10 Editor’s Note
Hey guys! I hope you’re all having a great school year so far! RTC was amazing wasn’t it? I loved everyone’s cheers and meeting new people was great too! This was my first year in RTC and I absolutely loved it! I hope you guys like this month’s newsletter. I worked extra hard for it especially because I only have around 4 newsletters left to do until the end of my term. Being a sophomore is really hard with AP classes, sports, and key club all at the same time but I can manage. Thank you for everyone who sent me articles and visuals before the due date, I really appreciate it. Once again, if you guys have any questions, email or text any of us (on the right). By the way, shout out to all the bulletin editors that I had fun with on the station in RTC! I had such a blast! I love key club so much, you guys will forever be my second family♥ Have an amazing rest of the year, see you at the next events!!!
