YOUR E-BUSINESS IS SAFE IN OUR HANDS e-Commerce | GW direkt line | GW pro.line | Warehouse logistics
GOODS ORDERED AND SHIPPED EFFICIENTLY AT THE CLICK OF A BUTTON Every Tesco store needs to be fitted out with a multitude of shelving systems, refrigerators and freezers, checkout counters, and shopping carts. All this equipment has to be stored somewhere. And from there, the correct quantities then have to be delivered to the relevant store at exactly the right time. In GebrĂźder Weiss (GW), Tesco has found the perfect logistics partner to cover all the necessary stages of the process by making the equipment available to the Tesco branches via a web store.
AT A GLANCE:
TESCO
British retail chain Tesco operates more than 360 business units in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, from small local grocery stores right through to hypermarkets and huge department stores. The product range encompasses groceries, drugstore goods, clothing, household goods, electronics, tools, sports equipment, and furniture.
THE CHALLENGE
THE CHALLENGE Tesco was looking for a partner able to ensure both inventory management and shipping of business equipment. GW won the contract and was tasked with creating the custom B2B solution. The challenge: ● Complex inventory management system for over 2,000 articles ● Web store with up-to-date access to stock on hand ● Straightforward control system for ordering and shipping the equipment ● Trained personnel to handle the goods
THE SOLUTION
THE SOLUTION Web store: In just a few clicks, the Tesco branches are able to select the appropriate goods, color, quantity, transport method, delivery time, and delivery date. As soon as a user selects and confirms the goods they want in the web store, the order data are transmitted to the warehouse administration system and, from there, directly to the mobile wireless scanner terminal inside the warehouse. Once the goods have been picked and packed, the delivery note is printed and the customer receives a confirmation. Users are able to track the order processing status online. Warehouse logistics: Thanks to a newly developed article labeling system, the storage items can be identified without a hitch and the correct goods can be shipped to the right branch partner. The service offered by GW also includes assistance with unloading and with system installation. Similar support is available when it comes to picking up goods and transporting them back to the central warehouse.

Efficient order processing and more efficient workflows The customer can create a purchase order and have it confirmed in a matter of minutes. The goods then arrive at the Tesco branch in next to no time. The B2B solution makes administration at Tesco much easier. Selected report types can be accessed via the Internet interface and downloaded at any time. The customer is even able to post entries between its individual cost centers automatically.
