Gebrüder Weiss (GW) created a perfect logistics solution for its customer DAIKIN: bundled cargo transports from the central hub in Enzersdorf an der Fischa and international hubs with fixed transit times, combined with individual direct transports – across Europe, flexibly and from a single source.

The Japanese company DAIKIN is the global market leader for air-conditioning units for commercial and private use. DAIKIN Central Europe based in Vienna (Austria) is the regional headquarters for 15 Central and Eastern European countries. The European branch has 180 employees at six locations.

THE CHALLENGE The customer network of DAIKIN Europe is complex and extends across Central and Eastern Europe. Nevertheless, products must be delivered to each and every customer promptly and reliably. The challenge: ● Distributing goods efficiently to a wide network of customers ● Meeting the highest customer demands in terms of time and quality ● Shipment tracking in real time: recording data even before picking via a monitoring system

THE SOLUTION DAIKIN again tasked its long-standing partner Gebrüder Weiss with the warehousing and broad distribution of goods throughout Central and Eastern Europe. The services at a glance ● Collection of the goods at DAIKIN’s Strategic Distribution Center in Enzersdorf an der Fischa ● Bundling at the GW hub in Maria Lanzendorf/ Vienna ● Transport to 15 customers in Central and Eastern Europe ● With GW pro.line cargo and groupage freight: over 20,000 shipments every year (daily at fixed transit times) ● With GW direct.line: around 250 individual full loads directly to the customer from the factory ● Monitoring the flow of goods via the Control Tower – transparent and easy to follow across the board

With GW direct.line, the goods are delivered directly to the customer – particularly suitable for time-critical deliveries or special products. GW pro.line ensures bundled shipments, at fixed times every day, along Europe’s main transit routes.
Transparency and traceability
GW makes the flow of goods transparent by means of special monitoring instruments for the customer. As such, it can be seen at all times where the shipment is, if there are any difficulties, and how these can be solved quickly. In face-to-face meetings, GW explains to the customer where there may be room for improvement.
