Developments in Contemporary American Society
Jan Erik Mustad is Associate Professor of English at the University of Agder and has taught American Studies and British Studies for several decades. His teaching and research interests encompass British and American history and culture and English didactics. Mustad is the author of numerous books and articles in these fields and is a frequent commentator for Norwegian media.
Modern America: Developments in Contemporary American Society is an introduction to American Studies within the fields of history, culture, and society from a Scandinavian perspective. Its focus is on understanding important aspects of contemporary American society through discussions of political, historical, and cultural processes.
Sean Taylor is Professor of History at Minnesota State University Moorhead. His research interests focus on active learning in the classroom and the gameplaying pedagogy Reacting to the Past. He teaches classes in early American history, Civil War history, critical thinking, and the history of medicine. Taylor received a Fulbright Scholarship in 2011–2012 to teach at the University of Agder. He holds a Ph.D. in history from Northern Illinois University.
