Joints There are many types of joints used to connect walls , however one of the joints that was focused on was the control joint
The joint is to ensure that the types of materials used such as bricks that is able to expand or contract based on temperature does not cause the walls do not crack.

It was also mentioned on how bricks are used to build walls. A few
Steel framing is used to make walls This is usually done through the steel grid system Has a support cladding system to it A girts is used to support the horizontal structure however mullions are used to support the vertical structure. examples mentioned are  -
The running/stretcher bond Forces are distributed throughout the wall hence making it a really strong bond
Steel metals A few general information mentioned on metals in the e-learning are -

They are two ways on how steel are formed Hot rolled sections -

As rusting is highly required to be prevented in order for the steel or metal does not lose its strength, the e-learning mentioned a few methods used to prevent it  -
Galvanisation The metals located at the top of the series wil be able to corrode more and faster

Tutorial During this week’s tutorial we were required to build a scaled physical model of Queen’s college.

Other walls are measured and joined together using pushpins.
Process:
The cladding made from wire and the basalt wood is used to make the rafter are then joined onto the structure.
The walls of the section was measured using a scaled ruler at a scale of 1:100 Rafters
The rafters for top of the roof is completed
Joist
We began to start measuring out structures to build the walls for this section The joist is then attached to the bottom of the rafters to separate the ceiling from the roof. Workshop This week’s workshop for the third assignment mainly consist of measuring and cutting structures to build the wall for the section of Glenn’s Murcutt Guest house that we are assigned to.
The top and bottom plate of the section is being measured and cut
