hailey tuttle portfolio
Why, hello there! My name is Hailey and I am an aspiring graphic designer and artist. I come off shy at first, but when I open up I have a bubbly personality and I am so full of energy. I love sports just as much as I love art and design. Music is essential; it helps me keep my creative ideas flowing. I hope you enjoy what you see in my portfolio!
01. Gallery Logo Adobe Illustrator // 2014 // printed 8 x 8 in. This logo is for a new art gallery at the Cultural Center at Medicine Hat College. I chose Cubed Gallery from a list of five potential names. It seemed to have good graphic potential.
02. Gallery Logo (2) Adobe Illustrator // 2014 // printed 8 x 8 in. This is a second logo idea I created a new art gallery at the Cultural Center at Medicine Hat College. This time I chose Pond Gallery from the lost of potential names, and created a lotus flower on a lily pad. I used it in two sizes so I could judge viewing distances.
03. Necklace Graphite // 2013 // 28 x 29 in. We were asked to create a blown up image using something that had personal meaning to us. I used my mom’s favorite neckalce, and to create it I used graphite to enhance my skills with highlight and depth.
04. Futuristic Sorento Prismacolor on Mylar // 2013 // 15.5 x 14.25 in Working from a photographic source image of a vehicle, producing this realistic illustration was challenging to accurately represent the vehicle colour. I also really liked the background in the source image and its potential to work in another medium.
05. Tropic Pineapple Relief Print // 2014 // 9 x 12 in. Creating an illusion of depth on this pineapple was an interesting challenge. I looked to Van Gogh for the wavy background.
06. Recruitment Poster Adobe Illustrator // 2014 // 16 x 24 in. This poster is created for the Visual Communications Program at Medicine Hat College. I wanted to play around with color, so I came up with the idea to use paint splatters and then use the same colors in the blocks for the text on a black background.
07. Postage Stamp Adobe Illustrator // 2013 // 4 x 4 in. I used a Moose to protray a Canadian postage stamp. I made it look like the moose is walking into in the moonlight, and I used a dark purple to act as the sky.
08. Playing Cards Adobe Illustrator // 2013 // 2.5 x 3.5 in. Intrigued by the differences in a butterfly, it becomes the focal point for a set of playing cards. Multiple butterflies are arranged to create a range of compositions.
09. Face Cards Adobe Illustrator // 2013 // 44 x 20.25 in. Using my own face, I was tasked with making face cards using different facial expressions and poses to help create a playful look to them.
