“As soon as you drive through the gate, Hampton Hall feels like a vacation resort and has so much to offer. That and its close proximity to great schools and our church made it a perfect match for us.”

Brian & Natalie Burnside

The Burnside family holds one very active household here in Hampton Hall! From the time Brian and Natalie said their vows 27 years ago, they envisioned making the Lowcountry their permanent destination. “Many family vacations on Hilton Head and Kiawah Island solidified our desire to one day live in coastal South Carolina,” says Natalie.

When Brian’s career as a Hospital CEO presented an opportunity in Bluffton after leading facilities in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, and Texas, their dream became a reality. Coming to Bluffton, one of the first places they looked was Hampton Hall. “We just loved everything about the community! As soon as you drive through the gate, Hampton Hall feels like a vacation resort and has so much to offer. That and its close proximity to great schools and our church made it a perfect match for us.” That has been important to the Burnsides as quality family time with their three children is always a top priority. You have probably noticed Aidan and Preston driving around the Hall in their Ford Thunderbird convertibles. Both are Bluffton High graduates and are now Engineering students at Elon University. You also may have met Kierstyn through her very successful pet sitting business. She’s only 12 but quite the entrepreneur. Every time she sees a new dog in the neighborhood while walking her pups Brio and Roxy, she is quick to give their human her business card.

“The environment of Hampton Hall has allowed our family to be outdoors and active all year long…the pool and the tennis/pickleball courts get plenty of use from us!” declared Natalie. Brian was quick to add, “…and I’m still chasing par on the Pete Dye Signature Course! I think the upcoming restoration project will make it one of his best courses…right up there with the Ocean Course at Kiawah! Brent and the crew do a great job of creating a premier golfing experience every time I’m out there.”

The Burnsides stay busy in the local community outside the Hampton Hall gates as well. Natalie works as a Realtor with The Cobb Group at Charter One Realty, which was recently named the 2022 Best Real Estate Team in the Best of Bluffton and Lowcountry’s Best awards. She also recently co-founded “100 Women Giving Back to the Lowcountry,” a group of local women seeking to make immediate and sizable impacts in the community through combined giving. They meet every second month to select a local nonprofit to donate toward. Once selected, each member donates $100 directly to the organization. “The goal is to gather $10,000 for a worthy organization serving our community while the ladies have an opportunity to network and socialize, and it’s all accomplished in a short evening out.”

For fun, they enjoy the variety of exceptional dining options, many local festivals, and of course, the beach. “We’ve found that living near the water and in a community like Hampton Hall brings more frequent house guests than we ever had living in the Midwest. We love that we live in a community where we can host our friends to a stay similar to a resort vacation.”
