Cheers For Charity HAMPTON HALL CHARITABLE FUND

The Hampton Hall Charitable Fund continues to plan and work diligently to support the needs of our surrounding communities.
Our “Cheers For Charity” themed inaugural wine tasting event was held on October 8. We welcomed more than a dozen wine vendors and well over 110 Hampton Hall Members. Participants sampled wines from a variety of national vineyards while enjoying an outstanding spread of appetizers and desserts provided by our culinary team. Attendees were given the opportunity to order wines at a reduced price and over $20,000 in wine purchases were made by Hampton Hall residents.
The gentlemen enjoyed a cigar bar and local organizations provided gifts that were raffled to attendees. Proceeds from this event, including a portion of the wine sales, will benefit the Hampton Hall Charitable Fund grants program, which are awarded to local charitable organizations focusing on the needs of those in Beaufort and Jasper counties.
For the holiday season, we have our annual Toy Drive on December 10, followed by the fourth annual “Holiday Open House Tour” on December 4. Look for additional details online.
The Charitable Fund would like to extend a sincere thank you to our supportive community, volunteers, and sponsors who graciously lend us their time and effort with our fundraising efforts. We truly appreciate all that you do.
Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated at our events. Please contact our Chairwoman, Denise Cadres, at dcadres@aol.com or visit our website at hamptonhallclubsc.com/charitable-fund to learn how you can support the Hampton Hall Charitable Fund.

Hosting a Hampton Hall Block Party
By Penny Hearn, Member since 2019
More than 40 of Hampton Hall’s Hampstead Avenue neighbors (and new nearby neighbors) enjoyed their second annual neighborhood block party on a beautiful late October afternoon, socializing with new and established neighbors and feasting on mouth-watering, home-cooked delicacies, ranging from egg rolls, meatballs and salads to decadent desserts. Anne Marie Gualtieri, Penny Hearn, Bonnie Mathisen and Nancy Bader coordinated the event.
Suggestions for coordinating a block party:
Divide tasks among four or five volunteers: selecting a site, date, time and rain date; collecting email addresses; creating a flyer and manning the name tag table. • Limit the size of your group, to encourage socializing. • Have neighbors bring their own beverages, chairs and a dish to share with the group. • Supply utensils, paper plates, napkins, ice and trash bags. • Decorate and set up tables with inexpensive tablecloths and divide appetizers, main dishes and desserts. • Use name tags with addresses to help in identifying neighbors. • Be flexible about including new nearby neighbors, especially young families.
