Context There has been a recent surge in the number of type foundries being created and it is easier than ever for people to create their own fonts to be sold through websites such as MyFonts. A current interest in typography are fonts resembling hand drawn scripts, I will build on this to create 2 fonts building on my own interest in hand drawn typography.

Brief or Tasks Create a fully formed typeface using fontographer. The style will be inspired by the hand rendered style favourable at the moment work manually and then digitalise the letterforms. Generate a fully formed alphabet, lower and uppercase letters as well as a full range of glyphs. Time allocated: 3 weeks

Preparation/Research suggestions I will research existing typefaces to analyse how my own hand rendered font will differentiate from the rest of it’s competitors currently available. Research into the various mediums available to use in order to gain the best result will also be necessary. Finally, an understanding of the process of how to get fonts displayed on MyFonts and the typical way to display these is also necessary.

Evidence – for this project students should submit The brief resolution will be a fully digitalised typeface, with a view to selling on a website such as MyFonts as well as examples created of the typeface in context. I will photograph the progression of the typeface to document my hand drawn lettering process.
