Texas-Oklahoma

By - Member,Eliana Gonzales- James Bowie High School Division 39 S Reflecting upon my high school career, one of my biggest regrets of freshman year was not enabling myself to be involved within my community. I never truly realized how vital clubs are to the high school experience. That is, until junior year when I first joined Key Club. Joining such a large community has opened my horizons to many opportunities in life. Not only was I able to help those in need, but form a connection with people I would’ve never expected to meet. Some of my fondest memories there lie within rekindling old and sparking new friendships. To the meet-ups at Mission Arlinton, or failing at the simplicity of making a gingerbread house, they gave me a community to feel welcomed and belonged. In addition to such pleasantries, Key Club offers a door of opportunity to lead. It is a catalyst to opening yourself to the world of volunteering; pushing yourself to go above and beyond to surpass selfishness. It gives you a perspective of those around you and endeavors one to give without reward. Through these laborious hours, we provide to our community. And it shows. Without Key Club, James Bowie High School would not be what it is today. Both the officers and members ensure that we can make a contribution that we are proud of. The contribution that will wholeheartedly uplift and empower our district to blossom into something beautiful.

MULTICLUB

Social

This month we had a ginormous social with other clubs! So many people showed up and we enjoyed the time spent with everyone. Thank you to everyone who showed up to this big social. Although late into the year this social was a way to get clubs to interact with one another and get along with the students at our school! We offered pizza, games and did karaoke. Everyone was very welcoming and we cheered people on whenever it was their turn to sing.

Thank you all for coming and helping out at Mission Arlington. The people are Mission Arlington are very kind people and are always happy for the extra help. I encourage our members and people outside of our club to go you and volunteer at Mission Arlington We weren't the only organization there and the community is great. Volunteering at this location is a great opportunity that I encourage everyone to go to. You get your volunteer hours while helping the community. You even meet great people!
