Cafe, restaurant, vin, cuisine are all French words, almost as though France invented social dining. Centuries of famous paintings depicting cafĂŠ life fill museums and galleries. The French met in their cafes not for quick drinks or meals but to linger for art, opera, love and politics. From our first sights, scents, tastes and touches of Paris, an idea grew into a design concept: an Experimental Studio/Exhibition kitchen where pop up and guest chefs would come to test their creations, try out new dishes on myriad palates and attract gourmands from around the world. The venue? An intersection of technology and tradition culminating in a showcase of exciting fare and images for which Paris is celebrated.
Experimental Studio We make the restaurant an attraction!
Traditionally, artists and Latin Quarter students, artists, and galleries occupied the left bank of the River Seine where they would hang for hours in cafes, communing, sharing ideas and finding support in a less material world. Citizens on the right bank were known to enjoyed more lucrative occupations where politics and business allowed for richer lives amid fine buildings. From that diverse heritage, we combined the famous image of the Eiffel Tower on the left bank and triangles of the Louvre Museum’s great glass pyramid from the right. Together, those images merge in an intersection of art and technology, innovation and tradition to create a forum encompassing both banks – a different kind of restaurant, an experimental studio for different restaurant and chefs present their new idea in different season, with open dining and views of the Seine, a sensory experience where culture, food and design evolve to attract not only Parisians but guests and visitors the world over.
