WEEK 3 READING: TITLE OF READING

Question 1: What is Pictorial Space according to Le Corbusier? (Maximum 100 words) Pictoria Space is the drawing that the tridimensional objects in the reality be depicted as two-dimensioanl figures. By setting these flat figures at a certain angle to show more accurate information of the space and the relations between different objects in the reality.

Question 2: The Flatness of Le Corbusier’s painting’s are attributable to two properties. What are they? And what are these pitted against?(Maximum 100 words) First of all, the luxury use black and white to express the distance the distance and depth. The using of black between the objects creats the extrem contrast which enhance the sense of three-dimensionql spaceand the black shaped shadows also implys the depth from where the shadow is cast. The using of white enforce the sense of continuous surface colour and the depth where it appears indicates the different textures by illustrating in different ways.

MARIO’S WORLD

3

1ST MARIO’S WORLD

In this Mario World, I tried to make it more like an floating island setting on the cloud. I tried to make the oringinal world more interesting and playful, so the mario can actually follow the route to finish his adventure, so I added a swiming pool, some beiges and a castle. Some interesting characteristics were joined the world too.

COMBINED MARIO’S WORLD

Compare from the first one, I chage the form of the cloud and some details to make it more fancy and clear.

WEEK 4 READING: TITLE OF READING Complete your reading before attempting these questions:

Question 1: Explain the difference between Pictoral (in this case perspectival) space and Projection? (Maximum 100 words) The difference between the pictoral sapce and projection is the pictoral sapce and canishing point is more wieldy open, also it is more ideal to the universal geometries and infinite space.

Question 2: Where did Axonometric projection first arise, and why? (Maximum 100 words) The Axonometric projection originates from ancient visual practices, in the abstract and instrumental sector of the technical disciplines. In the army it was used as military context of drawing 3D trajectories of artillery projectiles. Parallel projection developed along with perspectival projection.

ILLUSTRATED MARIO’S NEW WORLD

During the whole process of module two,my idea is to create a floating island covered by the clouds. First I tracing the oringinal mario world from 2D to 3D, then I use the illustrator to add the colour. The basic colour is not bright because I want to create a sense of mystery. I used darker colour instead of using gradient tool to make the mario world more real and three-dimensional. The original world is too simple, so I added a castle and a swimming pool to make the world more interesting and playful. When I draw the pool I learned from the app game “mounment vally” which give people the sense of visual illusion. To show the island is mario world, I added some classcial mario characteristics. Moreover, I used different colour to emphaise the cloud to make it more colourful.
