You can now find information and reviews about Harlow Town Park on Trip Advisor. Visit www.tripadvisor.co.uk

Harlow Museum’s Walled Garden Why not visit one of Harlow’s hidden secrets - the Walled Gardens that surround Harlow Museum in Muskham Road? It contains three gardens: • the unusual fruits garden with its Figs, Quince, Bitter Orange and Medlar trees; •

the formal 17th Century garden with its low hedging, old roses and herbs;

the Peace garden with wide boarders and grassed areas (ideal for a summer picnic)

All three gardens are surrounded by walls dating back to the 16th Century. The gardens are maintained by a small group of volunteers who meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 10am-3pm. For more information contact corrinadunlea@gmail.com Recently, the yew hedge has been reduced in size by a contractor which has allowed the volunteers to start planting up the adjacent herbaceous borders.

Entry to the museum and gardens is free, with free parking in the car park to the rear of the museum off Fesants Croft.

Harlow Town Park - Update April 2019 The new Inclusive Play area next to Pets’ Corner and the Walled Garden is now open and being well used by our visitors, thanks to funding from Essex County Council’s Shortbreaks programme and from Harlow Council. If you are planning a visit please use the Showground car park off Fifth Avenue, which is the closest car park and follow the signs.

We continue to have amazing support from Harlow College Supported Studies students and Open Road volunteers, planting in the Walled Garden and other schemes around the Park. Harlow Men’s Shed is now operational from a container in the Walled Garden and welcome new members. Further details from essexshednetwork.co.uk

The Town Park volunteers have completed the replanting of the Netteswell War Memorial and Peace beds - you can find out more about these planting schemes on our May Saturday walk with the designer Madeleine Paine.

The Walled Garden demonstration nature trail and nearby story telling area have had new surfacing installed which will make access easier. This facility will soon have a new Welcome board with further information signs planned on our native wildflower meadows, so that everyone can understand why such areas have been left uncut and to enhance the wildlife of the site.

Netteswell War Memorial and Peace beds.
