New Year’s Eve came and went like the cork from a bottle of bubbly, but hashers around the world will continue to celebrate throughout the new year. AMERICAS: Special thanks to our globetrotting correspondents CIA and Quick Drawers for their voluminous contributions throughout the year, covering events on their home turf and on their travels. The North American continent, with arguably the largest number of HHH chapters on earth is bursting with special HHH events throughout 2018. Start the year off in grand style north of the Rio Grande at the Tex-Mex Intercourse Fiesta in the West Texas town of El Paso. Texas is so big they have their own Texas Interhash in 2018. Then it’s off to Party Gras in Virginia Beach, where beer, mud and games will come together for an unforgettable weekend that few may remember. Grab your surfboard and hop a 747 to the islands to join the natives in celebrating 40 years of Hashing in Hawaii. The following week snag your snowboard, and head to the champagne slopes of Colorado for the Ski Hash Weekend in Colorado Springs. If cruising is more your style, join the Pirate Invasion Cruise departing from the Big Easy for Cozumel, Mexico. For some down-home fun in the mid-American heartland try a psychedelic “Cow Tipping Weekend” in Lockbourne, Ohio, or USA Nash Hash in Weeping Water, Nebraska. EUROPE: What would we do without our conscientious columnist Julie“Burgess? Yark Sucker knows a fair bit about hashing around the European continent, and she shares her take on the best events for the coming year.

The Sans Clue H3 celebrates their 1000th Run and 25th birthday party in gay Paris the last week of March through April Fools Day. You may not have a clue before or after this event, but who cares? Belgian Nash Hash, hosted by the Brussels Mannekin Pis H3 the first week of April will take you to the quaint border town of Limburg. The Athens H3 will celebrate their 40th Birthday on the Island of Rhodes in May. Its up to the Alps for Swiss Nash Hash in Zweisimmen this June. Finish out the month on the Dalmatian Hash Cruise for a week of hashing your way through these famed Croatian islands. All roads may lead to Rome but consider the ISCA H3 Roman Awayday in Exeter this August. Finish out the hashing season at the DIVA Bubbly Weekend in Esslingen town, near Stuttgart. AFRICA: Julie “Head Mistress” Stanton carries a colossal torch as our Africa correspondent. Since her move to Africa she does her best to keep us informed about HHH events on the Dark Continent. Not an easy task by anyone’s measure. Head Mistress recommends a visit to Mauritius for the Catamaran Hash in January. Follow that up with the Swazi 2M Weekend, organised by the Maputo and Matola H3s in Swaziland this February, South Africa. An African favourite is the Ethiopian Mountain Challenge, starting in Addis Ababa on the 27th of April. Nigeria will have its Nash Hash in Calabar this September. The Ssese Island Hash will be hosted by the Kampala H3 in Uganda, East Africa in December. ASIA: Start your 2018 Asia hashing at India Nash Hash this January in picturesque Karnataka, India. Cambodia Nash Hash will be hosted by the Phnom Penh Danger Hash with a train trip to Takeo this March. Wild Wolf takes Philippine Hash Bash back to Sebang Beach in Puerto Galera in April. A new twist to this year’s event is a hash on Verde Island. Malaysia Nash Hash is scheduled for Raub, Pehang on Peninsular Malaysia this May. The 80th Anniversary of Mother Hash is coming up 14-17 September in Kuala Lumpur. You can start the celebration early from 8-12 September on the Train
Rumble to Mother traveling from Bangkok to Pattaya, Hua Hin, Hat Yai and Ipoh before joining up with the Mother Hash celebration in KL. The following week Mekong Indochina Hash will be hosted by the Saigon and Nha Trang Hashes, 21-23 September in Nha Trang, Vietnam. AUSTRALIA, NZ, OCEANIA/Fiji: World Interhash comes to the South Pacific Nation of Fiji 24-27 May. There will be a Pre-Lube Hash Cruise from Nadi to the Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands 15-22 May. Queensland will host a number of HHH events in 2018, starting with the Gold Coast 2000th Run in March. The Commonwealth Games Hash will take place this May in Burleigh Heads. Not to be left out, the Cutlery H3 will celebrate 1000 Runs in May. The combined Harriettes of Oz will host “Diamonds and Pearls” in October. CONTENTS
MIDDLE EAST: Last, but certainly not least, special thanks to Douglas “White Trash” Barrett, for his advisory about Intergulf in Abu Dhabi, UAE this March.
I look forward to seeing you on trail in 2018!

Harrier Magazine will adjust its publication schedule in 2018. In an effort to preserve the editorial quality of each print and digital edition, and to remain financially solvent in a time of increasing production and delivery costs, the publication schedule for the coming year will include six bi-monthly digital editions and three print editions. Additional issues will be added on to subscriptions in effect before 1 January 2018 so that subscribers receive the same number of issues they paid for at the time they subscribed.

his year, Sub – Saharan Africa has a variety of events on offer from hashing by the beach, by lakes, on islands and a chance to hash in one of the world’s last absolute monarchies. Usually hash events in Africa are quite small and are mainly just weekend events organised for the local hashers but if you make the effort to turn up to one, you will receive a warm and friendly welcome and you’re guaranteed to have a good time.
