The world-renowned Pattaya Jungle Hash celebrated a major milestone with the flair and style found only in this part of the world. A horde of hashers joined the PJH3 faithful for a weekend that few will forget…but some can only recall as a happy haze. Off to Malaysia, the birthplace of the Hash as the RCC took to the tracks for a Wild West Train Pub Crawl. The trail ran the rails from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh in the scenic terrain typical of this historic region. Like sand in your shoes and cactus in your shorts? Saddle up and head out west of Tombstone for the Tour de Tucson. Join the JHavelina H3 celebrating 20 years of rambling thru the desert. Whoever said that Germans have no sense of humor has never met the Sembach Hash House Harriers. Costumes, drama, and fun to the extreme are the order of the day in the badlands of Deutschland at the annual Sembach H3 End of Summer Hash.

What happened to the 79 Guam hashers stranded on a mountaintop as the rain poured down and dark closed in? The night turned tragic when one hasher fell off the cliff and these hashers faced much more than they bargained for. We are pleased to bring you another edition of the Stockholm Absolute Hash Trash. Many thanks to the hardworking editor of this amusing publication, and to our editors and columnists around the world. Harrier Magazine’s annual Best Events of the Year edition is coming up soon, so send us the nominations for your favorite HHH events. I look forward to seeing you on trail soon. lthough the purists may disagree, hashing is not just about getting out on trail to work up a sweat which is perhaps a statement that becomes more poignant as we inevitably get older. It is also about reminiscing with old friends and of equal significance making new friends over a few bottles of amber liquid. Certainly, the Jungle Hash took this matter into consideration when we thought about what type of weekend would appeal to the majority and between the four chapters in the Jungle Family we formulated what we hoped would be a relaxed and enjoyable weekend.

Harriers’ very first ‘Wild Wild West RLC ALE TRAIN PUB CRAWL” was held on 16th September, a date specially chosen as it was Malaysia Day

public holiday. The idea for the Train Crawl was first mooted as a successor to the Jungle Pub Crawl held in 2012, followed by the Bus Crawl in 2013. The name was derived from the famous Sixties TV western, The Wild Wild West’ featuring the adventures of two US Secret Service agents traversing the West on their luxury train. Hence, the concept of merging a train ride with a hash pub crawl, where participants follow a paper trail leading from pub to pub, was born.

Preparation for the event began months ahead with the Organising Committee ascertaining the feasibility of procuring tickets for 3 KTM ETS (Electric Train Service) coaches from Kuala Lumpur to Tanjong Malim to Ipoh. Once confirmed, promotion and detailed planning proceeded with attention paid to the minutest aspect to ensure the absolute success of the event. Everyone in the organizing as well as the working committee were strenuously briefed on their respective roles.

Hashers Stranded 2 Overnight on Mountaintop A GUAMAZING TRUE TRAIL ADVENTURE

o, there we were, eighteen hashers stuck on the upper slope of a mountain, well past dark, unable to scale the steep and slippery slope back to the top, incapable of climbing down the sheer cliff face leading to the bottom, shivering in the frigid rain, huddling tightly together to stay warm, clinging to roots and clumps of sword grass to keep from sliding to our doom, dehydrated and out of water, waiting to be rescued, and wondering whatever became of the poor bastard who fell over the cliff a few hours ago. A well respected local hasher put us into this predicament trying to be helpful by telling the pack of a much safer way down from the mountain in the dark, only he had his mountains mixed up and actually gave the pack the worst directions in hash history. Oh, if only I hadn’t visited Guam! If only that fool hadn’t directed the pack off true trail! If only the pack hadn’t listened! And, if only we had a rope and a grappling hook with which to climb to safety! But, I did, he did, they did, and we didn’t. At least Guam Fire Rescue was on the way and would soon save us, because they must be experts at this sort of thing… right?
