BVDL - A small and large dental lab

Bay View Dental Laboratory Small Enough to Know You‌

…Large Enough to Serve You The innovative design and organization of our lab combines the best of both worlds. Doctors choose and work with the same technician all the time, developing the personal one-on-one relationship necessary for consistent results. As experienced technicians from around the world, we have each other’s knowledge and expertise as a resource, along with the materials, equipment, and benefits of a mid-size, full service lab. For over two decades, our foundation and a key to success has been a solid background with the Pankey/Dawson concepts in occlusion and function. This, combined with contemporary materials and techniques for cosmetics, has led to a level of predictable success in functional esthetics usually reserved for private in-house doctor/technicians teams.

The real cosmetic, occlusal connection! Our services address the needs of today’s contemporary fee-for-service practice. Along with most general dentistry procedures, our specialties are with cosmetic work and combination fixed/removable cases. You will also benefit from our 30 years of experience with pretreatment case planning. We view cases with the “end in mind,” and what it will take to achieve those results. From soft tissue changes, to case design and materials selection, applying that experience to case planning situations helps avoids problems and can make even complex cases more predictably successful.

We Can Help with Your Case Planning “Envision the end before you begin!” These are Dr. Peter Dawson’s profound words of advice. With over 500,000 units of experience from which to draw, we welcome the opportunity to participate in your pretreatment case work-up, especially with implant, combination fixed/removable, and complex multi-disciplinary restorations. We are glad to provide suggestions for preliminary mouth preparations to improve esthetics, the choice of materials, case design, and diagnostic wax-ups to facilitate fabrication of provisional restorations. To aid in your case planning and presentation, Bay View offers three types of wax-ups: a simple white wax-up with changes noted on the cast, a full contour wax-up of all teeth involved, and a multi-color natural wax-up to share in case presentations with your patient. We also offer personalized computer imaging service. We do not use a “packaged” imaging program to stamp teeth into place. Images are individually created according to your special instructions by technicians who understand your special needs.

Metal Free Ceramics In 1987, Bay View was the first commercial lab in the country to offer IPS Empress restorations. Over twenty years later we continue as a leader in the esthetic field with IPS Empress/Eris, as well as the CAD/CAM technology of zirconium restorations with Noritake CZR, HeraCeram, and IPS e.max, stacked glass veneers with d.SIGN porcelain, and beautiful porcelain inlays and layered veneers with Authentic porcelain. Our lab features master ceramists from around the world, available by request for your cosmetic work. You’ll see our work featured in various journals and at seminars around the country with some of the top presenters in dentistry.

Combination Fixed/Removable Restorations We consider comprehensive fixed/removable cases to be the most challenging in restorative dentistry. They can also be some of the most rewarding for the life changing effect it can have on patients. Implants have opened up options with treatment that were not even a possibility just a few years ago. We have an extraordinary team of specialists for multi-disciplinary work involving combination fixed/removable or implant/fixed/removable. By enlisting the functional determinates of phonetics and envelope of function for anterior tooth placement, closest speaking position for vertical dimension, and neutral zone for posterior tooth position, even the most complex cases can be more predictably successful.
