Perry’s Adventure

Written and Illustrated by Hattie Windley

This book belongs to...

Perry dreamed of a life beyond his small, lonely pen.

He wondered what it would be like to roam through a forest and feel the grass beneath his trotters.

But Perry always awoke from his dreams, sad and lonely still stuck in his muddy pig sty.

Until one day, Perry decided that he was going to do something about it.

He looked for a very muddy spot near the fence and began to dig. He dug and dug until his little trotters hurt but he wasn’t going to give up now.

With the rest of his strength he pushed and squeezed himself underneath the fence until... Pop! He was through to the other side.

He was amazed by what he saw. No fences. Just countryside as far as his eyes could see.

A pebbly road stretched out before him so he decided to see where it went.

At the end of the road he found a lonely young chicken.

Perry had another great idea. He used his curly tail to wiggle open the padlock

Charlotte the chicken introduced herself and thanked Perry for setting her free.

The new friends set off together to explore more of the countryside.

Until they came across Gary the goat. He was fed up of not being able to run around freely.

Perry and Charlotte asked Gary if he could jump over the fence and join them. With one big leap Gary jumped over the fence

The three of them set off once again. Each enjoying the freedom and company that they had longed for.

The End.
