The Truth/The Flats Two new plays written by Tim Fifield exploring one tower block and the people who live, visit and disappear from there.

The Truth

Mark is 59 - forced into early retirement with stress he passes his time listening to ‘80s records and observing the nocturnal happenings outside his flat with increasing levels of anxiety. His life is small. It feels like he’s waiting for something. Something not nice. Then it happens. The doorbell rings. Time stands still. In comes Toyah in all her wild, chaotic, and distracted glory, ready to confront the past.

Wed 20 March 7.30pm, Theatre

‘Brilliantly performed... intense in parts and humorous in others highly recommended’ whatsgoodtodo.co.uk (on previous production)

The flats

Billy went missing and for a while noone noticed. Why would they? The lives of the inhabitants of the block simply known as ‘The Tower’ are far too busy to notice a simple, apparently carefree man who spends his days and nights quietly observing the frantic lives of those around him. But Billy’s absence takes on a startling significance when a neighbour finds a note and the key to his flat.

Jim Tavare:

From Deadpan to Bedpan

In 2017 comedian, BAFTA award-winner, Harry Potter actor and double bassist Jim Tavaré was involved in a near fatal head-on automobile collision in Los Angeles where he has lived since 2009. He lived to tell the tale.... In 2018 Jim returned to the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time in 20 years with this, his first narrative show. Directed by Henry Normal, the show went on to win much acclaim, and the Spirit of the Fringe Award. The story of how a quick trip to the shops changed his life forever. After suffering catastrophic injuries that left him in intensive care on life support, he spent a year in recovery facing an uncertain future. But instead of letting trauma define him, he emerged with a heart-warming and seriously funny tale of survival against the odds, strange forebodings, unbelievably massive American medical bills, and a dog called Mr Kippy.
