Music by John Du Prez & Eric Idle.
Jazz Lunch
From the original screenplay by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. A musical set in England (932 AD) where the kingdom is divided. To the west are the Anglo-Saxons and to the east the French. Above there’s nothing but Celts and some people from Scotland. In Gwynned, Powys, and Dyfed - there’s Plague. In the kingdoms of Wessex, Sussex, Essex and Kent - more Plague. In Mercia and the two Anglias - yet more Plague. With a 50% chance of pestilence and famine coming out of the north east at twelve miles per hour, legend tells us of an extraordinary leader, who arose from the chaos, to unite this troubled kingdom. He was a man with a vision who gathered Knights together in a Holy Quest. This man was Arthur, King of the Britons. For this was England! Hire - A COS Musical Theatre (amateur) production

Shifting Sands
The King Lear
Shakespeare’s classic tragedy set in a pub - The King Lear. Instead of a Kingdom - a pub! Instead of a King - Mr Lear, the landlord! When he announces his retirement and the division of his ‘kingdom’ between his daughters, Mr Lear imitates his famous namesake. He demands to know which of them loves him the most. Blindly he unleashes a tide of pent-up frustration and jealousy. Hilarious and heartbreaking, The King Lear will unfold using physical theatre, clowning and vibrant storytelling all linked by Shakespeare’s magnificent text. What starts as a game becomes real as Shifting Sands play with Shakespeare’s ingredients yet remain faithful to his themes. There will be irreverence, but no parody. The result - potent, accessible theatre! For adults, but suitable for 11+
