Parkwood Theatres is a division of leisure support services company Parkwood Leisure, which is part of Parkwood Holdings plc. The company operates in excess of 80 facilities nationwide employing over 6,000 employees. Our aim is to deliver high quality services to our customers; the company also prides itself on its exemplary health and safety record and a commitment to our staff. The Hawth, Crawley opened in May 1988 and is managed by Parkwood Theatres on behalf of Crawley Borough Council under the terms of a 10 year management agreement, which commenced in February 2012. The venue comprises of an 850 seat Theatre and a 146 seat Studio. Both spaces, as well as the grounds surrounding the venue, are capable of being used in a multitude of formats and layouts which is reflected in The Hawth’s extensive range of arts, entertainment and participatory activities. The Sales and Marketing Assistant will work as part of the Sales & Marketing team which is responsible for the efficient and effective promotion and ticketing of shows and events and any associated sales at The Hawth. The post is for an initial 6 month period.
JOB DESCRIPTION The post holder will assist the Sales & Marketing section in carrying out their functions to the desired standard. In particular they will assist in the formulation and implementation of comprehensive social media and online marketing strategies for maximising the sales income of The Hawth. The Sales Assistant will focus day to day on the following tasks: ● To assist in the design and production of marketing materials including, but not limited to; social media and online marketing, advertising and printing ● Assisting in the design, production and distribution of marketing and publicity materials relevant to the promotion of shows and events at The Hawth and any other Parkwood Theatres venues as directed ● To assist in maintaining, fostering and developing contacts with local, regional and national press and media to actively promote coverage of activities and events at The Hawth ● To assist in the coordination of market research as required ● To ensure adequate levels of stock of all printing, publicity and marketing materials etc to ensure the efficient operation of the Sales & Marketing service ● To keep abreast of new technology and operating systems related to his/her range of duties and responsibilities including a good working knowledge of the venues ticketing system ● To provide shortterm cover if required for Box Office/Reception staff ● To liaise with other service managers within the Venue, appropriate Client Officers and service contractors and customers to ensure any sales and marketing issues are overcome as a priority ● To assist in the proactive sales and marketing of the Venue in an efficient and environmentally sustainable way to meet both the Company and Client s objectives in this regard ● To undertake any other duties as may be required by the General Manager to ensure that the business objectives of the contract are achieved

HOLIDAYS 20 Days annual holiday (pro rata) plus statutory holidays NOTICE PERIOD 1 Month THE CANDIDATE Qualifications GCSE passes in English and Mathematics. ICT skill/qualifications in use of spreadsheets and word documents are essential. A proven ability in the use of specialist sales and marketing software is desirable, although additional training will be provided.
