HH: What inspired you to start Solutions2you?
I have been setting up and scaling businesses since 1997 with people and values always sitting at the core of everything I did and I knew with so many businesses over the years seeking out my mentorship, advice and guidance to scale their business or to develop their leadership team, I could create so much more positive impact if I stepped out into the world doing what I do today. For me it was that I needed to do more and this is how Solutions2you was born – “A people and business” advisory service.
HH: What do you feel are your unique strengths and how do they benefit your business?
With over 35 years of experience, combining Business and Financial Acumen with my Counseling qualifications I know how to make businesses become sustainable, stay ethical, and work with “Values” alignment. Most importantly, I have done it personally, so I know what it takes from grassroots to the end, and when I help people set up and scale businesses, it’s with a humanitarian aspect embedded into them so that everyone involved knows that they are contributing to something bigger. For me it is always about values, ethics, and “paying it forward”. That is what leading with influence is about.
HH: What has been your most rewarding experience while working in Africa as a humanitarian?
There are so many reference points that have brought me joy when I look at the time I spend in Africa and each one has been linked to seeing the success and learnings of those who have benefited from my programs or my mentorship. I have loved watching Helen and Belinda grow professionally and personally as they strengthen their voice, leadership, and guidance to others. They both run my “Raise the Baseline” programs in Tanzania. Mostly, I am so proud that in 2022 alone we have had over 200 students complete our programs and each one leaves with hope, joy, and a sense that they have taken away key learnings that will serve them to build their future. Our programs start at school age and go through to aspiring entrepreneurs. For me it is about embedding skills with those that were born and raised in the community so that they can develop the skills to lead their community, and their country.
Seeing young children, as young as 12 year, who have just completed one of our “Raise the Baseline” programs, share “I have learned that if I am to lead others, I must first learn to lead myself”, and “Knowing what my values are and how to set boundaries has taught me how I be a better leader” shows me that we are creating impact that will shape a better tomorrow.
HH: How do you define success, and what are your goals for the future of Solutions2you?
To me, success is about being able to walk away knowing that you have become redundant. There is no greater joy than knowing that you have gifted skills, tools, and knowledge to someone to the point that they no longer need you. Unlike other advisors and mentors, I don’t string people and businesses on; I look to accelerate growth efficiently so I can keep moving forward and create a greater impact by showing someone else what I know and do.
Success for others is my success. Solutions2You will be more than a business, it is about living life with intentional consciousness. My future is about lifting humanity to shape a better tomorrow. Those who understand this, live a life of joy daily and seek out to serve and elevate others, creating greater impact globally.
HH: What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs who are looking to start their own business?
Go against the grain, do things your way. If you fail, know you have succeeded as you have tried to do things differently (that is how you innovate). Take away the lessons and become antifragile. You have the ability to do anything but, you first need to be clear about your values and to set clear boundaries. Once you have done this, you will have “flow” and will live life at a higher vibration.
So I openly share that I bring the “whole of me” to work. It is in these practices that you will find joy in life and in business. Oh and of course make sure that, as you rise, you lift others around you!
HH: How has your family been a source of support to you throughout your entrepreneurial journey?
I have been gifted with a very supportive family who has often said “You know what you are doing – go for it”. They have supported me not only with my work and choices, but also in taking care of aging parents. My husband and children are the most heart-centred humans I know.
Life is tough when you want to be there for an unwell aging family, you can’t do it alone, and they have been there by my side day and night. I cannot tell you how this has been a gift that just keeps on giving. They have seen and heard some of the most challenging of things, especially my kids, so for that I am grateful. As an entrepreneur, be prepared to ask for help. You don’t have to do it alone, be it in business or in life.
HH: What challenges have you faced along the way, and how did you overcome them?
As most entrepreneurs will know, business can be lonely. Added to that is the fear of being seen as vulnerable, so I share the opening that I bring the whole of me to work. At the end of the day, who I am as a person is based on my values and my boundaries and I don t compromise these for anything, not for money and most certainly not to gain popularity. At times this has meant that I have had to Go against the Grain, but people soon realise that ethics are part of my core values, as is transparency, so they know I can be trusted and transparent. This is why I have life long clients who become friends globally.
For me some of my greatest challenges have been around family with my father tragically falling ill and passing away, and my mother suffering from heart failure the day before my father s passing and then being rushed to a different hospital to that of my father, as the world began to shut down. All of this occurred as I had established my new business. However, when we learn to pause in the moment, we begin to have clarity and this was no different for me.
In fact it was the time that I said to myself “ You need to do more, you need to be more. So go out and show the world how one person can make an impact!” It was at this time I wrote my first book “Same People, Different Vision” a leadership and business book which was an amazon #1 best-seller, it also received a 5-star rating and has won a Gold award for best Business Book. I did my first Tedx Talk in lockdown “Do you go against the grain or stay in your lane?”
I also began mentoring online to people in Africa, to aspiring leaders and entrepreneurs in Tanzania and Uganda and later set up the Raise the Baseline Programs where I personally fund Leadership Programs for children and aspiring leaders in Tanzania.
Amongst all of that, I dedicated 60% of my time to do pro-bono work supporting Ethical businesses, Non For Profit and For Profit businesses developing their leaders.I did this intentionally to show the world that you can build and run a sustainable business with ethics at its core and having embedded a philanthropic arm. My business is a Social enterprise, it was set up with a purpose to create impact.
Face challenges “front on”, dig deep and know the impact you want to make. When you do that, you begin to see challenges as an opportunity to discover how to navigate through things differently.
HH: What does it mean to think limitlessly, and how can we awaken to influence for impact?
I believe we can all contribute to creating a positive impact in life. It’s about the “ripple” we choose to make. Think limitlessly is my next anthology to be released in Nov 2022, my first one was called “Going against the Grain”. As you can see I don’t do things randomly, I am known as the Alchemist in business, it is about clear strategy and being intentionally conscious. Not many business advisors can attest to this type of practice and success.
This phrase that I have coined “think limitlessly” is about encouraging the world to break through barriers, to think beyond themselves, and to think about the impact that they want to make on the world. My personal saying is “Influence with Impact '' . This is asking people to be consciously awake, intentionally conscious, and be a person of influence who chooses to impact humanity ethically.
I am asking the world to “ Stop sleepwalking through life” another one of my Tedx talks where I share lived experiences and occasions where I have paused and changed directions in life or changed an entire keynote address I was about to deliver because someone crossed my path and I dared to pause, listen and better understand what was needed in that moment so that I could serve them. Those of you who are ready, will hear what I am saying and take the opportunity to pause so that you can better understand how you want to live life. Think limitlessly, the choice is yours and you have the ability to do it all.
HH: What role do failure and risk-taking play in your journey to success?
I celebrate failure. I have shared this many times both in my training and workshops and in my social media posts. Without failings, we become stagnant, we stay safe and play in our comfort zone. This is playing small. I have often been heard to say “If you think you are playing BIG, play BIGGER because you are still playing small”. These are key learnings to us all. We all have a choice, and what we do when we are given the opportunity to learn is ours in that moment and as time passes. I don’t fear failure, and I want you all to know that the reason why people become stagnant is because people don’t know where to start, or worse still they are starting at the wrong place because they have been sold someone else’s story.

HH: In your opinion, what is the key to achieving lasting success in life and business?
So many people are sold a “story” that life or business is about what is happening for someone else or on social media. But let’s be honest with ourselves, this is a stage that shows us what happens in one second of anyone’s life or business. Knowing who you are and who you choose to be is how you achieve lasting joy and this in turn becomes lasting success. In business strategies are often mistaken for marketing. If you do not know your numbers in business and can forecast the next 3 to 5 years, you do not have a strategy –you have a marketing plan no matter what story you are selling .
If you don’t know your numbers and how to be sustainable before you begin, how do you know where you are going? Business is not about branding. Branding is, at most, 1/8 of a business so before throwing good money away, I ask that you pause and take a good look at what you are being sold. Success is about doing what you love and life is about pausing to know where you want to be and when you want to get there. If you have not been able to do that, ask yourself where are you now and where do you want to be?
The “HOW” is achieved from engaging someone who has done it already, and you investing in yourself by seeking them out or doing the course. It needs you to do the work and be consistent.
Money is not the driver, but you need to know what will make money. The most valuable part in life and business is to know the impact you want to make for others. When you know this and can do it, you have lasting success.
I wake up with a smile on my face every singleday because I choose who I work with. I say “NO” more than I say “YES’ to new clients because ethics and values matter to me more than anything else. My values are clear and my boundaries are known and people trust me because they know where I stand.
I work with ethical people and I will be work with ethical people and I will be part of the change that I want to see in part change that I want to see in the world. My mission is to take others the world. My mission is to take others with me and to create a greater ripple with me and to create a greater ripple that elevates humanity globally. that elevates humanity globally.
Cathy has often shared that her initial trip Cathy has often shared that her initial trip to East Africa in 2014 with her daughter to East Africa in 2014 with her daughter was one of her greatest challenges but was one of her greatest challenges but has also proven to be the most rewarding. has also proven to be the most rewarding. How we choose to serve and to elevate How we choose to serve and to elevate others around us is the way that I look others around us is the way that look at creating impact. No matter what your life's journey is, No matter what your life's journey is, know that you have the ability to know that you have the ability to choose to leave behind what does not choose to leave behind what does not serve you. You have the choice of who serve you. have the choice of who you step forward to be, and where you you step forward to be, and where you choose to spend your time, energy and choose to spend your time, energy and focus on. focus on.
Whilst my drive is the work I do in Africa, it may be somewhere else for others. I feel our service to humanity enables us all to rise as a collective and live life from a higher baseline. We are only as strong, healthy, and smart as people as the weakest part of ourselves, and we can no longer afford to ignore what is seen in plain sight.
I share some alarming details that have crossed my path with some statistics in my Journal and Gratitude Book “Intentionally Conscious Living” as to why Africa is so important to support and welcome you to follow your path forward or to join me on mine.
One key message for me is, we often forget that along with aid, communities need support to keep their culture vibrant and alive and to be encouraged to lead through education. Leadership is most effective when it comes from within, with solid foundations based on shared knowledge that provides critical thinking at grassroots levels and across generations. Sadly, we have operated on the model of 'giving people a fish' rather than 'teaching people to fish.'
Our awakening can come at any time, Our awakening can come at time, but first you need to be prepared to but first you need to be prepared pause and listen to your internal dial. pause and listen to your dial.
That is why I am so passionate about Supporting young leaders and entrepreneurs on the ground through Raise the Baseline, a project I developed with an amazing team.
This is one way I know I can pay things forward so that we show and train individuals the skills they need to shape a better tomorrow – for themselves and the global community.
I have coined the use of the term to ask yourself "What else?" rather than “what if” so you can begin to see the opportunities that are available to create greater impact. Try it. You too will recognise the change it makes within yourself.
I find it enables me to think BIGGER. You can find out more about Cathy's program, Raise the Baseline, and its ripple effect at https://www.solutions2you.com.au /raise-the-baseline

I have always had a love for music. I grew up in a small mining town called Mufulira in Zambia, Africa, where my father worked on the mines and my family spent much of their time at the “Little Theater” where they would be involved with putting on plays, working on making the stage sets, sewing costumes and taking part in many of the productions.
From the age of 5, I started performing on stage with our Ballet School, where every year they would put on a big production of song and dance. I was lucky to perform solo many times in these productions. I went on to learn the piano and later bought myself a guitar, which is where I really started to get into singing and songwriting - I had found my passion.
I moved to South Africa with the intention of having a career in music and as many young people I did not see failure as an option. I worked hard and sang wherever and whenever anybody gave me a chance and with a bit of luck, I met an agent who encouraged me to enter a National Singing Competition which was live in front of 60,000 people. I am not sure what happened that day as I was so scared I just closed my eyes and sang. The next thing they were announcing my name as the winner !! I won my first recording contract and that was the start of my recording career.
I went on to win several songwriting competitions, had a couple of top ten hits in the Country Music market and was nominated for several awards. All of this was leading me to something that I had not envisaged. I was invited to Nashville to record and work with an outstanding producer Pete Drake, but life had other ideas for me as on my way to the USA I stopped over in London and read a story about a little girl called Kimberley. The My Body is My Body Programme started from a song I wrote about a little girl called Kimberley who was abused by both parents, neglected, starved and then beaten to death.
Reading this story had such a profound impact on me as Kimberley was 4 years old and so was my youngest daughter. The song was used by the State Of Texas for their Child Abuse Awareness Month and on the promotional tour to raise awareness, the My Body is My Body Programme was born.
I had the privilege of speaking and singing to thousands of children in schools during the awareness tour, and found audiences being receptive and open, not only to bringing up the subject of child abuse, but learning about the problem and how to prevent it, and this was due to the fact that I was using music. Music certainly is a way to build bridges and overcome the barriers of difficult subjects.
Working closely with professionals I put together the “My Body Is My Body Program” using music as a base for the programme which was approved by the Department of Human Services in Texas and the Department of Education in Tennessee.
For the next five years, I toured around schools all over America and presented the program to over 350,000 children with great success.
We uncovered much abuse that was going on and importantly we educated children on prevention.
I realised if we were going to reach more children that I had to think of a different mode of delivery, and Youtube was the best way I could think of to reach people around the world. I wanted to get the songs animated, but it was way too expensive, so I spent the next few years learning how to animate. I set up my studio at home - recorded the songs and started animating. In 2017 I released the first video animations. The videos were so well received that I had several requests to produce them in various languages. The Programme has now been translated into 26 languages with the videos in 13 languages (with more to come).
I have managed to keep the programme free of charge by doing everything with our genuinely fantastic volunteers from around the world. They have sung, recorded and translated the programme and others have taken the programme into their communities, schools and groups.
To date we have reached at least 1.3 million children in person and at least the same amount on Youtube. I have been totally humbled by the success of our reach and I truly believe we are making a difference based on the feedback that I am getting from our Volunteers and Ambassadors in over 50 Countries. Many children refer to our Volunteers as the My Body is My Body Lady or Man - and we know they remember our message as so many of them start singing the songs from the programme when they see our Volunteers.
Being the President of Child Welfare for the Global Goodwill Ambassadors Foundation is such a privilege and has been a fantastic way to reach so many more people with the My Body Is My Body Programme. We also have 2 MBIMB Courses on the Global Goodwill Ambassadors Foundation Learning Institute where over 2000 people have taken our courses.
My vision for the future is for all communities to start addressing the problem of child abuse.
We have to start the conversation about prevention and the long term damage that child abuse causes.
Over one billion children a year are being abused worldwide. We have to build secure community networks where people can report abuse and get the help they need, where children are not afraid to ask questions and to get support.
We know that the world is going through some troubling times at the moment , and when this happens, children can bear the brunt of parents' frustrations. We need to be there for parents that are struggling, and again I see strength in our communities being a way to help both parents and the children.

He had created close-up images of the SARS-CoV2 virus with pioneering technology.
I asked to use an image of the virus as an illustration in this little COVID book. He wanted to help write the book since he could tell his story first-hand. I agreed, and soon, an entire team of us banded together with all our “superpowers” to write this book.
The superhero team included Ilario’s technology and his first-hand experience; his daughter, Serena, with her writing and artistic skills; myself and my writing and heart to help; and my daughter, Anna, with her editing and writing skills. We created, illustrated, and released the world’s first children’s COVID superhero book in only FIVE days.
Other adult “superheroes” from around the world began joining forces with us as soon as we released the first little English e-book free on Linkedin. “Superhero” translators from thirtyseven countries volunteered to translate the book into their native languages for their children.
Media “superheroes” wrote articles about it in local and national newspapers and magazines. Radio hosts and podcast “superheroes” flocked to us to spread the message worldwide. Within weeks, this book was downloaded in seventy countries, and written in twenty-five languages. The whole world joined our superhero squad to help save the world.
I wrote nine more free COVID books over the next year. This mission of goodness began to infilter the hearts of real live superheroes who rose up worldwide when COVID was attacking children in their countries. It became more than just a few books in a crisis distributed free to the nations. This book started a movement of goodness and caring worldwide for children. It continues to grow and inspire others to sow into the lives of children and teenagers, and it all started because I responded to my heart to fill a hole in this world that I could fill.
You have superpowers, just like the one I found when I wrote that little book to help children. I had no idea so many other superheroes would join forces with me. But what would have happened if I hadn’t tried? Don’t be afraid to do what you have the heart to do. Trust it. Just because you HAVE a superpower doesn’t mean anything unless you USE that superpower. Imagine a movie hero who never used their superpowers. It would make a very dull movie, wouldn’t it? Maybe you never saw yourself as a superhero until just now. Now that you want to be, if you never FIND and DEVELOP and USE your superpowers, they will die with you and never cause good in this world. I know a superhero is inside you, somewhere in the recesses of your heart.
The good news is, I am nothing special. I simply saw a hole in the world that connected with my heart that I could fill, and I stepped into it. YOU can be a superhero, too!
Find your unique gifts, develop them, and when the time comes, and you see where that gift may help humanity, don’t be afraid to step into that hole in the world that only you can fill and fill that void. I believe that YOU can become a SUPERHERO of your world, too.
But be careful with your superpowers. Not all people use their superpowers for good.
There are some evil-minded and selfish-hearted characters with superpowers, too. Don’t assume all superpowers are used the right way for humanity.
The most fundamental truth to keep your superpowers from falling to the “dark side” is to remember that your superpowers are not given to you, for just you.
They are not only for your own success, fame, fortune, or to see yourself as better than anyone else. Guard your heart, check your motives, develop character, never step on other people to rise to success, and use your superpowers redemptively.
“Your superpower is there because there is a hole, a void, a need in the world YOU are to fill.” Unleash the superhero inside yourself and use it to change the world for good.
I believe that YOU can become a SUPERHERO and make a limitless global impact in this world, too.
Creating an impact can mean different things to different people based on their perspective, values, or choice of legacy. It can be translated to be either positive or negative and for me, it denotes change and signifies having a positive effect on a person or situation. Thus, to make a global impact would mean to affect my world positively through several intentional acts that make the lives and situations of others better.
The interesting thing about making a global impact is knowing that there is something seemingly bigger than you out there that you are striving for even when in hindsight, it appears impossible to achieve.
Over time, I have come to realize that to create a lasting change or make a global impact, a person must think limitlessly because our creative ability stops where our thinking and imaginary abilities stop. You must jump every hurdle your mind presents and think outside the box.
Just as Albert Einstein said “The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”
That’s a testament to how vulnerability drove me to make an impact on a global level.
It is important to note that these milestones were made possible by thinking beyond limits because based on my own life experiences and struggles, many reasons abound to instill fear, and helplessness and make me feel limited.
The question then becomes “How did I manage to forge ahead?”
Powerlessness and vulnerability helped chart the course of my life toward making a global impact.
I saw people wallowing in pain, lack, sorrow and helplessness – and it broke me.
In a way, their stories echoed mine – a story not many people knew about. Yours sincerely was a woman who could not afford a roof over her head with her family and was unable to pay school fees for her child years ago.
In response, I ll say that life presents us with a lot of choices but leaves us with the opportunity to make our decisions.
The choice to dwell in our limited beliefs or break out of them.
The choice to wallow in failure or take a leap of faith.
The choice to impact our world negatively or create a positive impact. The choice to complain about the status quo or be the change that we seek.
Today, she now runs a nonprofit that gives scholarships and has to date supported over 5000 underprivileged children with school supplies.
For me, I chose the latter!
Rather than being a victim of circumstance or acting from a reactionary state, I was intentional about making one good choice; to be a positive influence on my world and ensure that many do not face the same struggles that I faced.
Despite originally practicing as a Human Resources Professional, that intentionality led me to found a nonprofit called Talk love Africa Foundation (TAF) which works to support the total well-being of underprivileged children, vulnerable women, and the disadvantaged.
their countries recorded hundreds of participants across 42 countries who supported the campaign by funding the educational needs of thousands of underprivileged children in their home countries. Like every other organization, we have encountered unique challenges ranging from funding, staffing, procedures, visibility, and others.
TAF is charged with the commitment to consistently touch the lives of people and communities around us in ways that spread love and make the world a better place.
In 2019, Talk Love Africa Foundation initiated and led a recognized global online advocacy campaign for quality education tagged #ProgressForQualityEducation.
This initiative which was aimed at reducing the global number of out-ofschool children by mobilizing people across the globe to take decisive actions to promote quality education (SDG4) in
There were times we felt like our organization was not making enough impact seeing that the same issues were being addressed by other NGOs and other times when we felt our volunteers seemed less enthusiastic about their work compared to those involved in other groups but we stayed through it all ready to take on our world because we strongly believe the saying “Where there is a will there's a way”.
Today, some of those challenges seem like a walkover because we have learned the act of staying resilient in a fastgrowing environment.
Over the years, we have been inspired to keep going because our interventions have saved lives, brought joy to the lives of our beneficiaries, improved their living conditions, and above all made and are still making our world a better place.

Whether global impact is your end goal, or you have something more contained at the end of your strategic rainbow, the truth is that thinking limitlessly requires confidence – or, at least, the absence of chronic selfdoubt. But so many of us (and by “us” I mean women in general, women in business, self-employed or self-made women, women from the Global South, and/or women from South Africa) battle with internal “Impostor Syndrome”.
According to psychologist Dr Emily Anhalt, Impostor Syndrome is believing that you are not capable, even when there s evidence you can achieve highly. There's a feeling of fakeness and, rooted in insecurity, a fear of being exposed as a fraud.
Note: Impostor Syndrome is the corollary of the Dunning-Kruger Effect,, which is when less competent people overestimate their skills, knowledge and achievement and ignore warnings – or brush off criticism because they ‘know better’. It’s worse for self-starters
Up to 70% of people have felt like an impostor at some point in their career, and it s worse when you’re an entrepreneur, says Dr Valerie Young, educator, author and TED speaker. She explains that the self-starter is especially prone to Impostor Syndrome because “the nature of entrepreneurship makes everyone more vulnerable to feeling inadequate, and even more so if you are not classically trained.”
Sheryl Sandberg, Natalie Portman and Charlize Theron have all laid public claim to paralyzing feelings of inadequacy. Even John Steinbeck, one of the greatest authors of the 20th century and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962, wrote in his diary: “I’m not a writer, I ve been fooling myself and other people.”
Recent research by UK business coach and author Clare Josa shows that: “I'm not as good as others in my “I'm as good as others in my field” is the most prolific (75%) self- field” is the most prolific (75%) selftalk statement among talk statement among entrepreneurs; entrepreneurs;

In my home country, South Africa, you may or may not be surprised to know that, even in 2022, women command only 33.1% of managerial positions, but 42.1% of households. Further, 56.2% of women are “discouraged” from participating in the South African labour market, where the gender pay gap for doing the same work is 23% to 35%, depending on which statistics you consider.
On a macro level, South African women would appear to be sub-par. But what s worse is that, on a micro level, we often feel sub-par in our own minds. My opinion is that this is widespread, right across the continent.
A sense of being lesser
During a recent business trip to speak at a conference in the United States, which I thought was the land of milky, honeyed, significantly-above-par professional excellence in all things, I realised something unexpected: We, the citizens of Africa, suffer from a shared sense of being lesser. Of being smaller. Of being less worthy of global stages, both real and metaphorical.
I spent a week in the company of 824 other communicators, of which 40 (including me) were conference speakers. Of the 40, 15 of us hailed from Africa: North, East, South and West, so I m confident putting in writing the three things that I think we do better in Africa, right now, when it comes to my field, communication

However, it isn’t fair – or accurate – to make the previous point without acknowledging how individuals from historically disadvantaged sectors of society often experience Impostor Syndrome in the workplace: they’re “diagnosed” with it.
TThe fact that Impostor Syndrome is treated as a diagnosis at all is problematic. This excludes the effects of systemic racism, classism, xenophobia and other biases on a fairly universal feeling of discomfort, second-guessing, and anxiety in the workplace.
When employees from marginalised backgrounds try to hold themselves up to a standard that no one like them has met (and that they’re not expected to be able to meet), the pressure to excel can be unbearable. Further, when these individuals question whether they’re deserving of accolades, or express any self-doubt, a prompt diagnosis of Impostor Syndrome pathologises it.
Believe it or not, Lupita Nyong’o, Maya Angelou and even Michelle Obama have admitted to experiencing this phenomenon in their own professional lives.
Is there an answer? Perhaps – but it s not an easy one, nor is the solution a quick fix. The answer to overcoming Impostor Syndrome is not to ‘fix’ individuals, but to create an environment that fosters a number of different leadership styles and where the diversity of racial, ethnic, and gender identities is viewed as optimally professional.
More light-heartedly, it also helps to have a Jewish mother, as I do (and as my daughter does). When you have a Jewish mother:
1. You are the most brilliant creature the world has ever seen.
2. Anyone who doesn’t think so is stupid.
3. You deserve to rule the entire universe. I want you to imagine the scenario in which the only child of my Jewish mother is not chosen by HRH Prince William to be his wife and become the Queen of England. It’s devastation… despite my having been happily married for four years by then. But you can probably also imagine that the sheer strength of my mother’s belief in me is a solid foundation on which to build confidence and self-esteem. One of the things my mother has taught me is this: You must hold onto the good stuff. The compliments. The enthusiastic feedback. The happy testimonials and kind words.
We tend to dwell on negative input and quickly forget positive input. If one person dislikes something we’ve done, worn or said, but 20 people love it, most of us will obsess with the criticism of that one miserable hater.
As we work on thinking limitlessly en route to impact, global or otherwise, let’s try to retain the nice things people say about us and let s say nice things about ourselves.

Jude Ediae is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Global Youth Mental Health Awareness (GYMHA) Incorporated (https://gymha.org/), an Australian registered charity. I am passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of youth globally.
As a humanitarian and global ambassador for youth mental health awareness, I choose to emphasize the positive mindset of venturing above your fears and taking a step forward even when it seems all your confidence is gone.
We leave a legacy for impending generations to learn from us and ignite conversations that may not have taken place but rather were perceived and duly addressed with the proper solution to avoid a recurrence in the future, which inspires me I am thinking limitlessly of how to approach the impossibility related challenges, building a mindset of "I can achieve it" prior to endless opportunities globally.
I am passionate about how this selfdriven belief and self-assurance can connect, heal, inspire, educate, inculcate knowledge and hope in a world that desires a bond and selfbelief.
The motivation for this has arisen from my own experiences of charitable field work in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, first as a member of the Global Goodwill Ambassadors Foundation (https://www.globalgoodwillambassadors.or g/) and the Ethnic Community Council of Victoria. In both roles, I've seen that it's common to struggle to keep social support systems that work, which takes a lot of time and emotional energy.
This modification happens when we start with ourselves and understand how powerful we are. It is a simple change in perception and belief. When we show up as equals alongside anyone, regardless of how they respond to it, we are steadfast in our endeavors as an inspired leader focused on what really matters and his/her accomplishments on the job!
In different ways, individuals were almost unanimously describing a wish for organized spaces offering control of their anxieties, where difficult and potentially contradictory thoughts and feelings about their relational worlds could be named and addressed.
They did not specify whether they felt this would make them more resilient or more productive. This would support the idea that anything that might help strengthen the positive mindset of an individual would implicitly raise levels of resilience and expose them to the awareness of limitless approaches to these challenges and how to weather the storm through the ugly phase of life.
On an organizational level, teams where people can be open and honest at work without worrying about getting in trouble have been shown to be psychologically safe places.
Once this sense of protection has been established, it then becomes a catalyst for new learning, creativity, adaptability, and high performance in an individual’s life and his environment.
Uncontained anxieties on an individual level have also been shown to set up a range of unproductive and defensive group behaviors in workplace settings, such as fictionalization, meaningless busy-ness, avoidance of responsibility, and a rigid focus on procedures at the expense of creative goals.
Actively suppressing those anxieties will not encourage individuals or groups to engage in coherent limitless thinking and creative problem-solving approaches in order to build capacity to identify diverse opportunities within and beyond their immediate environments.
I would love to see more individuals, especially youths of all genders, free of discriminating mindsets, claim their place in their industry of choice because when we do, we make a difference and set a model for those who follow.
I am extremely proud to be a part of the generation who have made a real impact on fairness, love, peace, and equality.
I will continue to show up to impact more lives, for both women and men, because everyone deserves to be happy.
If only we knew what is possible when we incorporate our limitless impact and infuse it with the knowledge we have accumulated, the impact would be more than we will ever know!
It’s also important to keep challenging these untruthful perceptions on an unvarying basis, because some of them may be rooted in your subconscious mind.
My studies and experiences in the humanities have fueled my desire to inspire and motivate low-esteem individuals, as I have seen firsthand what happens when one interacts with this individual. It ignites something within them; their life will be different from that moment.
I can only credit my comfort in standing alongside anyone regardless of status, genre, wealth, or even age to growing up in a household where genre wasn’t an award. I will also never let someone younger feel inferior when I work with them.
Logically, you may know that there’s nothing holding you back, but then you still find yourself hesitating or procrastinating. If you keep challenging your limiting perceptions and you take action despite them, they’ll begin to fade away and eventually disappear. You’ll have convinced yourself that they’re not true after all.
Now that you’re starting to transform your perceptions of limits, you’re in a much better position to begin taking focused action.
The question is: what kind of action should you take? All of the richest and most successful people in the world have one thing in common: they found a way to contribute value to the world and are rewarded well for their efforts.
To get rid of limiting beliefs, you have to teach yourself to think without limits and turn away from anything that keeps you from focusing on your well-being.
You have to stop obsessing over the challenges and problems in your life.
A good rule is: do what you can to improve the current situation, then immediately move on to more positive pursuits.
Refuse to wallow in setbacks; avoid spending hours a day lamenting what you don't have; and don't talk yourself out of taking action because you might fail.
BBe proactive and precise in your actions and keep focused on where you want to be, not where you don’t want to be.
We all have strengths and weaknesses, and we all deserve the opportunity to show up, explore, serve, and evolve when we do it with the intention of helping others on their journey.
Only you have the ability to change limiting beliefs, and you can do so at any time. The world can become full of options, opportunities, and possibilities with an improved level of selfawareness and an obligation to overcome your own limiting beliefs.

Dee Russell-Thomas began her career as a teacher. Her first-degree thesis was entitled, “The Power of The Pupil”. She returned to university to study Social Anthropology and later completed research on “The impact of endogenous and exogenous depression and suicide”. Her Master’s degree from Bristol University had a counseling focus and was on eating disorders and self-harm.
Subsequent pre doctorate studies looked into “Breaking the Silence” – an in-depth study into how schools might facilitate opportunities for their students to disclose abuse.
She began her career as a teacher before moving into the area of race equality and diversity and becoming the head of service for the county, overseeing primary and secondary English as an additional language advisory work, African- Caribbean achievement, Traveller Education and supporting Asylum Seekers and their families.
She moved into Ofsted inspecting and for the latter part of her life has been a director of an educational consultancy, an international inspector and an advisor.
She has also been a youth worker, a Justice of the Peace (magistrate), Samaritan volunteer, Chair of the Parish Council, Trustee of the British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy and Director of the African Caribbean Association.
She has been appointed by Queen Elizabeth II as a Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire and recently held proclamations for King Charles III and visited the Queen lying in state. She is a director and Board member of the Global Goodwill Ambassadors and is also the GGAF Chair of Child Welfare and a trustee of The My Body is My Body child protection charitable organization. She is blessed with a husband, three children and four grandchildren. During lockdown she initiated a programme called “The Twelve Months of Kindness” and collated examples of supporting and encouraging others.
These were then compiled into a book and she has also adapted this into a certified training course. She continues to engage in voluntary work with refugees, is an NHS responder for those who might need support during these testing times and she is a vaccination steward.
In her spare time, she writes poetry, is a member of the “SheSpoke “and the “New Bohemians “poetry groups and also sings in a “Rock Choir'' organization. She is currently working in the Middle East and in November will be engaged in further educational and vocational activities in Malawi.
This is her philosophy on life, making a difference, self- acceptance, learning to believe and to make the changes we need to see.
A life of learning…and what I would like to share with others.!
When I was a young child, I lacked confidence and used my humor to cover fear and rejection. As I progressed through schooling, my wit kept me and those around me on their wits. A quick retort, a funny facial expression was my salvation. If I could encourage people to laugh WITH me then I would minimize the fear of them laughing AT me. I guess it served me well but it was also at a cost.
Later, I obtained the qualifications that, to some, looked impressive on paper. I had a steady career and traveled to many countries. Each year I would take additional qualifications, I discovered a love of learning … on MY terms.
I chose the courses, I worked hard and I gained certificates. At school my learning had been a means to an end, but now the end of the course is never important… The whole process of gaining knowledge with a view to applying it is what really matters to me.
I have chosen this work, this life-style because it suits my moral-compass, it gives me pleasure to know someone has benefitted and it actually makes me a happier, healthier, more balanced person.
So, what have I gained from this life of learning that I might pass on to the next generation, to my own children and to my grand-children?
I have learnt that we are all part of one race… the human race.
I had not been the most studious and as a middle child of five I was enveloped with high achieving siblings. I focussed on gaining qualifications in friendships but, my façade meant trust was not at a premium.
Later, I obtained the qualifications that, to some, looked impressive on paper.
I discovered that whilst I might often feel inadequate and a first-class graduate of the imposter syndrome, around me there are always many more who are far less fortunate.
My early career pathway took a swerve and I have spent a life-time supporting the disadvantaged, the unheard, the vulnerable and those facing any form of prejudice and oppression.
Don’t get me wrong, I am neither a hero nor a saint.
I have been blessed and rewarded through my interaction with people who have taught me more than I was ever able to impart to them. As a counsellor, an educationalist, a mentor and a consultant I have worked with children who have been whisked away from their homeland, families who have suffered untold traumas, boys who have been forced to kill their own family members and women who have suffered degradation, rape and physical violence. In the safehouses and refuges, victims hid in fear and despair; in Cambodia I walked over the bones of those who had died during the reign of Pol Pot and in Africa I witnessed the injustices of apartheid and the brutal FGM ceremonies.
That no-one is superior to another and that we all have a precious place on this land and each of us deserves a small piece of it in which to thrive. I have learnt that being kind is not always easy but being unkind takes even more effort. As a Samaritan I learnt the art of reflective listening (we have two ears and one mouth… maybe a sign for us to listen twice as much as we talk!).
My refugee and asylum-seeking students, now dear friends, have shown me the power of hope and belief that things can always improve even when faced with dreadful atrocities and bereavements.
My Romany Gypsy and Traveller families have highlighted the impact of stigma, prejudice and stereo-typing which is just as unacceptable as any form of racism in our society and yet with far less lawful protection.
The children who have disclosed abuse have shown me the true meaning of fear, isolation and bravery. My dear friends Professor Terrence Roberts, one of the original Arkansas Little Rock Nine and Leon Greenman, a survivor of Auschwitz were my living examples of true resilience.
Of course, this is only a small facet of my life but I hope I have shared enough to indicate the essence of my values.
Our lives can be insular, comfortable and safe or, we can choose to spread our wings, re-focus our inner doubts, our self-absorbed fears and take a leap of faith.
To be selected as the only white director with the African Caribbean community was a humbling privilege and a learning curve of immense magnitude -one for which I shall always be grateful.
Indeed, working with the diverse ethnic community groups, the refugees, the women’s support groups and vulnerable young people has been challenging, enlightening and deeply rewarding. Yes, as can be seen, I have learnt far more than I taught!
We can reach out to the many around us who would welcome a helping hand, a kindly word, a positive action, an organized initiative or even just being in receipt of a free smile.
After years of living, experiencing and gaining knowledge, I too am learning to accept myself and am eager for others to do the same. I am still a work in progress! Aren t we all?
“Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them.”
I learnt a long time ago that the power to choose is in our hands, the choice is always ours. Everyday we are prompted to awake from our slumber. We can always choose the way we want our lives and our world to be like, this means we can choose to live a life empowered by limitless thinking, knowing and believing all that is necessary for us to live our lives well, is at our disposal, or we can choose to do otherwise.

This is what led me to take a decision, I decided to change my mindset, I refused to dwell on those lies that say that a girl child is not enough. I chose the part of light and I became a point of light. I became like the phoenix bird and rose from the ashes refusing to burn.
My philanthropic journey started a long time ago, long before my marriage which by the grace of God is 32 years old now. I grew up in the Northern part of Nigeria with my grandmother in Katsina . Every morning we were graced with a gory sight of young children especially boys feeding from dumpsites. I have always wondered how God has kept them from all those illnesses that kill people. So my Nana called them out and fed as many of them as possible and this she did on a daily basis.
refusing them to exchange education for a penny. Years later, God gave us a prophecy that we should revive the hope in the hearts of children and people who are disadvantaged and that charted the path of what we have today.
Our organization, Hope Ambassadors And Child-Care is a faith based and non government organization and our mission is to exemplify the love of God by meeting the needs of these children and people physically, emotionally and spiritually. Our vision is to restore the dignity of the poor, to revive the hope in hope because we believe everyone deserves the life of dignity. One of the major projects we are known for is our Water and Hygiene programs.
Long before the advent of Ebola, we decided to go around communities and schools to teach people/children the importance of hand washing. On getting into these communities, we found out that they didn’t even have water, so teaching them the importance of hand washing became a herculean task because we had to go in with our kegs of water and soap to teach them.
After a while, Ebola broke out and the recent one Covid 19, it then became very glaring that something had to be done quickly. So we began the journey of Clean Hands Save Lives in schools.
We built hand wash stations and donated to schools and from our statistics more children are attending school now because we now have reduced cases of infection and illnesses. We then continued into communities, sinking boreholes, providing clean water, and adding values to these communities through our Water-For-Life-Project.
There is a village called Zagina in Kaduna State that has been in existence for over 280 years. This village has no experience of a borehole water system aside streams but Hope Ambassadors was able to sink a borehole system for the community and the impact was evident.
Our mandate is to go from community to community each month for as long as we can, sinking boreholes and providing clean water.
FFor us at Hope Ambassadors and Child Care Organization, Water means Life, Water means Hope, Water means Progress, Water means Longevity, Water means Love and Water means Peace. At Hope Ambassadors we think outside the box, our passion is to improve lives, and change the narrative of a community and the people for the better.
Right now we are imagining a world with limitless connectivity that will birth limitless possibilities. We are enlarging our tents, stretching forth and lengthening our cords and strengthening our stakes to other parts of the world, especially to other African countries where they also have shortage of water. We stand for inclusion, diversity and we promote collaboration.
