LINEAR PARK

Linear Park merupakan antara projek yang difokuskan di dalam RKK Seksyen 13, Petaling Jaya (Pengubahan 1). Projek ini menumpukan pembangunan di sepanjang Sungai Penchala (monsoon drain) yang berpotensi untuk dibangunkan dan dijadikan sebagai kawasan hijau bagi tujuan rekreasi, riadah serta mewujudkan elemen hijau alam semula jadi yang menarik.

: 1. Menghidupkan semula suasana mesra alam dan kawasan yang berdaya huni 2. Cadangan semula untuk menghidupkan aset semula jadi di sepanjang Sungai Penchala, sungai sedia ada, dan kawasan sekitar. 3. Mengoptimumkan sistem ‘urban hydrology’ secara menyeluruh dan secara ekologinya akan menggalakkan pertumbuhan bandar yang lebih mapan. 4. Penduduk serta pengunjung yang dapat menikmati kehijauan di tengah bandar konkrit. 5. Mengurangkan masalah pulau haba dan menstabilkan biodiversiti. 6. Idea dan konsep awal Linear Park ini telah mendapat persetujuan dan sokongan hasil daripada Perbincangan Dalam Kumpulan (FGD) yang telah di adakan di MBPJ. Linear Park merupakan nadi pembangunan utama di bandar Seksyen 13, Petaling Jaya yang mampu memberi impak besar kepada pembangunan fizikal, ekonomi dan sosial.

CADANGAN PROJEK:

Iconic Bridge seperti yang biasa dilihat di bandar-bandar besar mahupun pekan di seluruh negara berfungsi sebagai mercu tanda bagi kawasan tersebut. Bagi penduduk tempatan, ia menghubungkan dari suatu kawasan ke kawasan lain manakala bagi pelancong, ia sebagai destinasi yang mesti dilawati. Kewujudannya di Seksyen 13 akan menambah baik imej dan fungsinya sebagai pusat bandar.

WALKABLE STREET

Walkable Street merupakan projek untuk menggalakkan orang ramai berjalan kaki dan mengurangkan kebergantungan kepada kenderaan bermotor melalui penyediaan kemudahan di sekeliling mereka. Ruangruang sedia ada yang tidak dimanfaatkan akan dinaik taraf untuk dijadikan sebagai laluan penghubung dengan persekitaran yang lebih selesa dan mesra pejalan kaki.

PETUNJUK:

Traffic Improvement adalah projek menambah baik laluan pengangkutan awam di dalam pusat bandar Seksyen 13. Projek ini bagi memudahkan pergerakan penduduk dan bagi mengatasi masalah kesesakan lalu lintas di pusat bandar.

: Green Connector (Setiap parcel), Pedestrian Connector (Antara Jalan 13/4, Jalan 13/6 dan Linear Park), Jalan Sehala (Jalan 13/6, Jalan 13/4, Jalan 13/2), Fully Pedestrian Street (Jalan 13/2 @ Knowledge-based Parcel) : 1. Mewujudkan ruang untuk berjalan/berbasikal yang lebih mesra pengguna, menyeluruh. 2. Menghidupkan semula laluan yang tidak dimanfaatkan dengan sebaiknya untuk kemudahan pejalan kaki. 3. Menyediakan laluan yang selesa, selamat, berfungsi, dan menghubungkan. 4. Mengurangkan penggunaan kenderaan bermotor dalam kawasan pusat bandar bagi menangani masalah kesesakan. 5. • Keunikan Iconic Bridge yang menjadi mercu tanda kepada Seksyen 13 adalah dengan mewujudkan taman di atas jambatan yang mampu menjadi daya tarikan dan galakan orang awam untuk berjalan kaki. • Taman di atas jambatan ini disokong dengan beberapa sub-komponen seperti: dry water feature, tempat duduk, planting, dan pengcahayaan.

INTERACTIVE ARTWORK & LANDSCAPE • Perletakan arca-arca di kawasan ‘iconic bridge’ dapat menjadi daya tarikan visual. • Orang awam terutama penduduk Seksyen 13 digalakkan untuk mereka cipta arca khas sebagai tanda ikonik kepada Seksyen 13. • Perletakkan arca haruslah diletakkan di tempat yang sesuai dan tidak menggangu pandangan visual atau laluan utama • Menyediakan landskap yang menarik di sepanjang laluan jambatan bagi menarik minat orang awam menggunakan ‘iconic bridge’ tersebut.

BICYCLE RACK • Bicycle rack disediakan di bawah jambatan yang berada bersebelahan dengan Linear Park. • Orang awam yang menunggang basikal boleh mengunci basikal di bicycle rack dan menjalankan aktiviti rekreasi di sepanjang Linear Park. • Menggalakkan orang awam menggunakan kenderan tidak bermotor di kawasan Petaling Jaya terutamanya di Seksyen 13.

[Me]mory Paradox is manifested as a memorial, with an associated social platform, which expresses its need for societal place, for chance encounters. The memorial constitutes both an architectural design and narratives, in a way, whose uncertainty is integrated as a creative and social catalyst.

The fundamental questions take us back to why we are motivated to build markers to remind ourselves of the tragedies and epiphanies that effect our lives. By studying memorials, we will learn how identity is formed and gain a better understanding of the relationships between conscious and unconscious thought.

The overall scheme suggests that how people feel about a place, how they respond to it, transcends simply its appearance. People are responding to their memories, an amalgam of what they’re seeing and what they know about a place. Most memorials are placed in public spaces with the intention of maintaining an aspect of history.

This study is expected to open up a new dimension of commemoration, broader historical awareness, and collective identity, by focusing mainly on drawing together the different racial, ethnics, and cultural narratives of a richly diverse nation in an attempt to portray a nation moving forward into a transformed future.

Space Simulacrum is a manifesto of architectural protest against unjust access and usage restrictions posed on prime public realm, in the vicinity of Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Boulevard in Downtown District 1 Ho Chi Minh City. Space Simulacrum explored different visual & physical approaches to engage the public on the posed issues and consequences, as well as serves as an analytical tool to shock, instigate and awaken the community’s subconcious expectations. The methodology and strategy of plugging in social activities on some potential areas, as well

as constructing minor installations throughout the site, are intended to haul people into some sort of black holes, and making them forget about the passing of times. These interventions are hopefully able to make a comprehensive rediscovery of the idea of public space, and to remediate the public realm in the immediate vicinity of the Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Boulevard.

Faridah Adnan In collaboration with: Ahmad Farhan Izhan Abd Wahab Mohd Aliff Sued Nadia Fathin Syahira Ahmad Nazri Muhammad Hasif Ab Razak Che Ku Abd Salam Ab Whayab Until 2016, UiTM Puncak Alam Campus has grown with the addition of six other faculties. Despite the growing numbers of students and populations in the campus, it has yet own a proper sports hub to cater for the needs of a healthier lifestyle. Hence, the idea of overcoming and providing a proper facilities become the basis for this project. The main design approach is to create a seamless design between the the indoor sports complex

and outdoor sports area, and plaza. The idea is to blur the boundaries of the two different setting, in order for the visitors to feel that even when they are performing the spo rt activities inside the complex, they would feel the same energy as performing them outdoor. The iconic design is to create a landmark and to potray the complex as the main sports complex in UiTM Puncak Alam.
