Chairperson’s Message by Jenny Samek

I’m very excited to be your new Remodelers Council Chairperson! We had a great turnout for the Christmas party at Las Margaritas, and I was impressed by everyone’s Spanish knowledge. Seeing how quickly everyone answered the trivia questions shows what a competitive spirit our council has! We also have a very generous and giving group. We managed to collect 107 Dolls, 84 toys with wheels and 36 other toys for children in need. We also brought in 67 pair of gloves, 52 hats, and 5 scarves that were distributed to six different Lincoln elementary schools. These will be given out by teachers to children in need. So many kids will be warmer this winter. Thank you to everyone who donated. Our January meeting will be on January 12 at Schneider Electric (formerly Square D Company). I hope you can join us for a tour of their facilities. I work up the street and have always been curious to see what they do there. I want to wish everyone a very healthy and prosperous 2011! Happy New Year!

Thank you to those who attended the Remodelers Council Christmas Party! We collected lots of warm items at the party to donate to the following LPS schools: • Arnold Elementary • Calvert Elementary • Clinton Elementary • Elliott Elementary • Huntington Elementary • West Lincoln Elementary The Christmas Tree pictured is assembled from the 145 mittens, gloves and hats you donated! Thanks to Lori Pippitt, Lincoln Cabinet and Jennie Korth, HBAL for delivering the items!

Thanks again for participating! Thank you to everyone for the wonderful and generous donation of hats and gloves. Our Huntington students will greatly benefit from these donations and it’s especially nice during the holiday season. As the administrator of Huntington, I am proud to be a part of a community that continually shows support. Again thank you for your generous donation. Sincerely, Rik Devney, Principal
