President’s Message

Bo Jones, HBAL President The Holidays are in full swing and I can’t believe how fast my year as HBAL President has gone. I know this time of year is busy, but I hope you can make it to the HBAL Christmas Party on December 7 at Yankee Hill Country Club. Everyone will be given “money” to gamble for a chance to win some great prizes. We are also bringing back the Reverse Raffle, which for $25 you get a chance to win $1,000. This is a great opportunity to treat your employees to a night out without having to plan it yourself! At our November Lunch, Jeff Beals brought us some great advice (and humor) about how we can better network. He encouraged everyone to set goals before heading to networking events and to step out of your comfort zone. At the meeting we recognized the winners of this year’s membership drive. I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the hard work Andrea Wilkins and Denny Van Horn put into the drive. Although they were not eligible for the contest, they did more than their fair share of recruiting. Denny also reminded us that membership is more than just recruiting. We need to retain our current members as well by encouraging them to get involved and participate in HBAL events. We have some great education classes coming up including Year-End Tax Preparations on December 11, Lead Paint Training on January 15 for the refresher course and January 22 for those who are applying for certification for the first time. If you have any questions about these classes, please contact Andrea Wilkins at the HBAL office. Merry Christmas!
