“Stay On Course” As Hurricane Harvey devastates the south, our hearts and our prayers go out to each and every person affected by this catastrophe. “May God, the Lord of mercy and compassion, protect all who are still in danger, and bring to safety those who are missing. May He care in a special way for those who were already homeless, or without support and resources, before this disaster. We pray in thanksgiving for the first responders who are risking their lives to save others at this very moment. We include in our intentions the everyday heroes reaching out to help their neighbors in need, those who, like the Good Samaritan, cannot walk by a person in need without offering their hand in aid.” - Archbishop of Galveston-Houston As I think about the victims of Hurricane Harvey, I think about all the tenderness and apprehension each one of us hold in our heart. Despite the trials we attain, I encourage us to “STAY ON COURSE” and find comfort in God’s healing hand. Knowing that God does have a Will for us and He yearns for our happiness, I find comfort in Romans 5:3 “not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;” and it is through this perseverance our relationship with God will deepen and we will begin to feel His peace in our lives. These words come to me as I pay closer attention to those around me: my family, friends, fellow workers and clients. It seems everyone has a struggle of some type and it pains me to think of all the hurt. If only we can focus on the glory in our lives and let God deal with the rest… May God help each of us to "Stay On Course" by persevering through our trials and most importantly to feel God’s peace that He has in store for us. God Bless,

For those of you who attended the Hog Roast at the Kleinschmit Farm on August 11, you know what a great evening we enjoyed. Josh Hoyer and Soul Colossal put on a great performance, thanks to Tyler Reynolds who lined up the entertainment. Matt Kinning and Andrea Wilkins did a great job managing the inaugural Bean Bag Toss Tournament with 20 teams participating. Ryan Trausch and Trent Beach with Lincoln Federal won first place taking home the Baggin' n' Braggin' Trophy. Congrats to them! Many thanks to Matt and Tracy Kleinschmit for allowing us to use their property for our Hog Roast. It is a beautiful location and a great family-friendly environment. We have almost completed our work with Three Pillars for the Careers in Construction video. Thank you to Antoni Adame, Stephanie Ponce, Lance Roach, Matt Kinning, Maria Piccolo and Matt Kleinschmit for their willingness to be interviewed and in front of the camera. I watched several of the interviews and they all did a tremendous job. We also appreciate Jason Woita and Roger Bumgarner for allowing the crew on their jobsites for filming. The Young Building Professionals have teamed up with Lighthouse to help power wash and stain their two pergolas which were in need of some TLC. Thanks to the YBP officers: Hayley Lane, Kelli Fleek, Tyler Reynolds and Andrea Wilkins for making this community service project for Lighthouse a success. This fall HBAL will be rolling out a new sponsorship opportunity for members. As of the end of August, I have secured our first corporate sponsor for 2018. Thank you to Millard Lumber/Andersen Windows for their commitment! Watch your mail around September 15 for more information about the available sponsorship packages. If you’d like information before then, please contact me. Monday, September 11 kicks off Membership Week with "Igniting Our Industry." Find out on page 4 how you can attend for free. Can’t make it Monday night? Come to our free Membership Luncheon on September 14 to learn more about HBAL, become more involved or to bring prospective members to join. Remember, the HBAL member who brings in the most new members during lunch on September 14 will win a free helicopter ride thanks to Bo Jones!

Wow, what a summer! Thank you to everyone who was involved in making these last few months such a success. Whether it was simply attending or helping to organize one of our many events, we could not have done it without you!

Thursday, September 21 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. RSVP by September 18 to info@hbal.org or 402-423-4225

The Hog Roast earlier this month went off without a hitch and the Tyler Reynolds Bean Bag Tournament was a hit YBP President with people of all ages. Josh Hoyer provided a fantastic soundtrack to the evening and we have already begun planning how to make next year's tournament even better. Last week we started our first repair project with The Lighthouse by power washing and staining a couple of their pergolas. It was so fun involving the kids in this project and watching their eyes light up with excitement as they realized they too were going to serve an important role in fixing up the house they all love so much! We look forward to our continued partnership with them and the many projects we have planned. If you would like to get more involved with YBP and make a difference in our community at the same time, we could always use more volunteers to help with upcoming projects. Contact Andrea at HBAL for more info at 402-423-4225.

Food & Drinks provided by

August’s Lunch Crew

Contact Andrea at andrea@hbal.org if you are interested in hosting a table in the future.

Want to join YBP? If so, contact Andrea Wilkins at andrea@hbal.org. 21 ď ´ Lincoln Business Builder
