Somehow summer is gone, and fall is here. However, I’m not sure you would know it by the weather we have been having. Fall can be a time for reflection. What have I accomplished? What is still left to be done? What do I wish I had more time for? Make sure you take stock in all you have done and “pat” yourself on the back. As you are working to complete jobs, give a shout out to your subs who have done good work, and finally take the time to do something you have missed. You can always do one more thing, just make it a good one! A big thank you to Jereme Montogomery and Denny Van Horn for their work with the Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) department at the City of Lincoln. Since LTU took over sidewalk inspections they have been working with the department to ease some of the new requirements with inspections. Pre-pour inspections are now an option for builders/ contractors when pouring sidewalks. We had a great turn out for the Family Fun Night at Sun Valley Lanes, and everyone had a good time. The Fall Parade of Homes kicks off on October 1 with 18 builders showcasing their homes around Lincoln. Finally, our next social event is at Glacial Till winery on Sept 12. There will be a food truck, beverages, good friends to socialize and hopefully cooler weather. We hope to see you there.

On behalf of the thousands of women and children who have benefited from safe shelter and supportive services at Friendship Home over the past decade, we extend our deepest gratitude for your sponsorship of our Safe Quarters event.
Twenty-one years ago, three remarkable women with a passion for our mission created an amazing event. They wanted to raise money, heighten awareness of the issue of domestic violence and allow our business community to demonstrate their support and leadership. Leaving a violent relationship can be complicated as well as dangerous. Without the support of the community and businesses like yours, we would struggle to provide survivors with the kind of resources they desperately need and deserve. Friendship Home is proud and honored by your sponsorship. Your generosity and commitment help create a safer community for everyone.
Sincerely,
Angie Hilsabeck Donor Relations
Thank you Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation for your wonderful donation! We are very excited about Carriage House and we're hoping to complete the project by next summer. Have a great rest of summer! We are blessed to have your support!

Drivers should then turn right (south) at the intersection of J Road and County Road 2. The entrance to GTV will be 1⁄8 mile on the right (west).

Thanks to everyone who participated in or volunteered at the Remodelers Golf Tournament. It was a great day on the golf course. We had 108 players and proceeds will fund scholarships for students going into our industry. This tournament is a great opportunity to socialize and network with other contractors in our city.
Fall is a busy time of year for us. Kids are back to school and the holidays are right around the corner. This is also an important time to start your marketing process for next year. Often we talk about charging what you are worth. We all have customers who want the “best deal” and there are plenty of companies that can give the lowest price. But is the “best deal” right for you? We try to make sure we can warranty not only the product but the work for a long period of time. We want to exceed expectations with our products and services, and sometimes that does cost more. None of us want to be in a bidding war with a lower level product or service. We should never be taking advantage of a customer or another contractor with pricing, but we should get paid what we are worth. It is a great question to ponder, what are your services worth?
We hope you can join us for the next Remodelers Council meeting on September 6 at Concrete Craft. We also have the HBAL Autumn Social at Glacial Till Vineyard on September 12 and HBAL 101 on September 19.

Wouldn’t it be great to have clean, efficient, and affordable energy that was here and ready to go? Even better, what if it was an abundant source—enough to last another century? Well, thankfully, you don’t have to make a choice. It’s Natural Gas.
