April Meeting Published by the Remodelers Council of Lincoln • April 2012 • Vol. 15, No. 4 • Editor Jennie Korth
Chairperson’s Message by Molly Johnson
Spring is here! It’s time to start your spring office cleaning and get prepared for the busy season. Follow-up on jobs that were quoted this winter or leads from the Home & Garden Show. Homeowners are tired of waiting to start home projects and are taking the plunge! Thank you to Granite Transformations for hosting our February monthly meeting at their new showroom. It was a great opportunity to learn about the products and services they offer in addition to meeting their Lincoln team members.

Best of the Best Best Bathroom Winner
Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery
The Tour of Remodel Homes is April 21-22. We have 18 homes on the Tour. Please take time to visit these great projects. Our next meeting will be at Valentino’s at 35th and Holdrege Streets on April 4. We have an attorney from The Hoppe Law Firm who will be educating members on the EPA lead paint rule. Some members submitted excellent questions to be answered so we all have a better understanding of the law and how to manage the paperwork and extra time required by the contractors. Congratulations to Ferguson for winning the “Best Bath” contest for March! If you have any pictures you want to submit for April’s “Best Windows” contest, please send them to Kayla@hbal.org I look forward to seeing you all at the April lunch meeting and hopefully during the Tour of Remodel Homes.
To see a color version of this photo, visit www.hbal.org/rc/events. Congratulations to Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery on being the “Best of the Best” winner with their bath entry. Next month features windows, so be sure to submit your photo of the best window remodel you have done or been a part of in the past year to the HBAL office no later than April 16, 2012 to be considered as the Best of the Best! So you can get a head start on planning for the rest of the year, below is the list of the “Best of” projects we will be looking for this year. Photos can be submitted to Kayla@hbal.org or drop them by the HBAL office and we will scan a copy of them. Remodelers Spotlight
TP Run!
Bring Toilet Paper, Toothbrushes, Soap, Other Necessities to HBAL through June 29.
Name: Lindsey Kastl Position: Showroom Consultant Company: Briggs, Inc. of Lincoln
The Remodelers Council is having its fifth TP Run (Toilet Paper Run) to help the clients of the Community Mental Health Center (CMHC). These clients are on fixed incomes, and after rent and medical expenses, often are left with very little money for the basic necessities. And, with a decline in the amount of items given from the Center for People in Need, donations from the Remodelers Council of Lincoln are even more helpful than ever before.
Phone: 402-420-9301 Email: lkastl@briggsinc.com Company information: Decorative Plumbing Showroom Favorite book: Currently I’m reading a book by Chelsea Handler. She cracks me up!
Items that would be greatly appreciated by CMHC & its clients: • Toilet paper • Laundry soap • Shampoo • Toothpaste • Sanitary products for women • Bar soap for men • Bath gel soap for women • Cleaning supplies • Poly-grip
