Remodelers Council

Chairperson’s Message

Christmas Party

by Pam Magner

When I started writing these 12 months ago I was thinking, “It’s going to be a long year.” Now, I sit at the computer typing my last one wondering where the time went. We have had an eventful year with both tours and educational opportunities. I hope everyone was able to attend a meeting that they found either particularly enjoyable or informative…maybe both! Our November meeting was held in conjunction with the Young Building Professionals’ Hard Hat Happy Hour at the new Habitat for Humanity offices and ReStore. The new offices were cleverly built similar to a Habitat for Humanity home. It made it easy to get a feel for actual room sizes and finishes. How exciting for a family to get a glimpse of their home before it’s ever built! The ReStore was filled with both new and second hand items waiting to find new homes. If you ever have materials that just aren’t ready for the landfill, give the ReStore a call. They appreciate every donation and will even come to pick it up. You will not only reduce the waste in our landfill, but the profits from the sales help to build new Habitat homes for Lincoln families. I will be passing the hammer to Rick Willet at our Remodelers’ Christmas Party held at Venue Restaurant and Lounge on December 6. This year has been a great experience for me and I have enjoyed meeting many new people. Representing the Remodelers Council at the Board of Directors meetings was a pleasure. I would like to thank everyone at the HBAL office for everything they do for our organization and members; they make volunteering very easy!
