Chairperson’s Message by Shawn Stranathan
I can’t believe it’s already been a year! It’s time to turn over the hammer and write my final message…hang on while I grab a tissue. :) While I probably won’t miss the writing of the message, I have enjoyed serving this year. Jennie makes serving as Chairperson extremely easy and she really does all the work. I’ve always enjoyed the Remodelers meetings and tours and I found being able to play a small part in the organizing of these events justs make them a little extra special. I think the Remodelers Council is a very special group and I look forward to continuing to see all of you at our events and meetings in the years to come. In November we toured the renovated Country Club of Lincoln where we were shown the 1903 Tap & Table, Swingfest Room and Lounge as well as their Fitness Center and new Performance Center which includes a golf simulator and teaching bay.

Country Club of Lincoln Tour November 6, 2019
The Remodelers Council of Lincoln held its November 2019 meeting at the Country Club of Lincoln which was renovated in 2016. Members were given a tour of the new 1903 Tap & Table, Swingfest Room & Lounge and Fitness Center. Our last stop of the tour was CCL’s new Performance Center which includes a simulator and teaching bay. Prior to the tour, we presented “Remodelers 101.” This was an opportunity to share a little bit about our council with new and potential members.
The 2020 Officers are working on next year’s slate of events. If you have suggestions for tours or speakers, please send them to Jennie Korth at jennie@hbal.org.

Welcome to the Remodelers Council! Jason Woita | Woita Homes & Remodeling | 402-202-7754 What did you want to be when you grew up? An architect. I’ve always loved design and the creation process. What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue? I’m starting to dabble on a very small scale, but I would love to race vintage cars. There’s nothing like the sound, smell of fuel, and the need for speed. Where do you usually go when you have time off? Work in the yard, paint art, work on my car, or wood-working. What is something you like to do the old-fashioned way? Making homemade ice cream using the hand-crank. Who’s your go to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to? Bruce Springsteen, without question, is my favorite artist. I’ve been to several of his live shows and there is nothing like listening to non-stop Bruce and the E-Street Band for over 3 hours.
Welcome to the Remodelers Council! Thad Sears | Enerlux Windows | 402-499-1358 If you could have any superpower, what would it be? I would like to time travel so I knew what the future holds and to fix mistakes in the past. Where do you usually go when you when you have time off? Ideally, I would go to the golf course but reality is usually to my kids events. What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of? Instagram!! If your childhood had a smell, what would it be? The smell of the outdoors.
Welcome to the Remodelers Council! Natasha Salem | Inspiring Homes Design | 402-770-6457 What did you want to be when you grew up? An interior designer! My dream Christmas present was a pink and lace comforter that I got when I was 9. I was hooked! What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? There are two pictures of me circa 1999 in a National Geographic detassling corn - I’m covered in mud! Where is the most interesting place you’ve been? Italy - also I studied abroad in Costa Rica and that was amazing! Where do you usually go when you have time off? Plan an adventure with my 6-year-old son, Will! Next up.. Italy! If you could convince everyone in the world to do one thing at one point in time, what would that thing be? Do yoga daily.. and recycle!
