Chairperson’s Message by Pam Magner
Here’s wishing you all a Happy New Year! The New Year gives us a chance to reflect upon the previous year and to greet what is to come with a fresh, positive outlook. The holidays, to me, are a combination of frantic preparation mixed with quiet gratification. Even with all the bustle and activity, there always seems to be time to step back and appreciate all our blessings. I can’t help but look back at last year and be thankful for my faith, family and friends, having a job and for my country. There are always uncertainties when looking to the future but I am optimistic about the economy and the growth of our industry in the coming years. I’m looking forward to serving our organization and consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to do so. We already have several great activities planned for the coming year. I would like to encourage all our members to take the time to attend as many Remodelers Council events as possible. Not only are our speakers and tours informative, but our professional friendships are invaluable. Our members have many areas of expertise and, as we get to know each other, we have the unique opportunity to gain insights that can’t be taught in a classroom. Our next meeting is January 11 at the John Breslow Ice Hockey Center. We will be touring the facility which opened in December of 2015. Located at 433 V Street, the center has more than 50,000 square feet and boasts a single, NHL-sized sheet of ice. While we won’t be skating, you can always check out their website at www.breslowhockeycenter.com and plan an outing of your own. I hope to see you there!
